Saltus River Grill
Great as always
Dorado was excellent blackened
14 year old Oban Scotch was perfect after dinner
Staff is super polite
Wonderful experience. Staff is great. Wine was pricey for the amount poured. The food was excellent.
The only recommendation we spent a lot for the four of us and that is expected. But we had a waiter that wanted to rush us. So when I spend 400 plus for dinner I don’t rush. Let your servers know that.
Waitress was great. Really new the menu. Great drinks. I had the tile fish and it was superb
We went here to celebrate my Mom's 80th birthday. It was a very nice setting, with beautfiul a river view. The service was very good. The food was excellent. The memory that we will have, however, is that we were seated in a booth that was in arm's reach of the bar. People were standing up at the bar, almost touching us, and talking, laughing and drinking and the noise level was extreme. We could not enjoy the evening meal that we had planned and it was very disappointing. I guess this place is for 30-40 year olds who want to drink and have a good time. I regret that the money we spent for the food was too much for the experience.
Amazing food, view, presentation, overall best experience in Beaufort.
We thoroughly enjoy Saltus River Grill anytime we are staying in Beaufort!
Food was great. Our server Sara was absolutely amazing. We will definitely return
We both had steak, a striploin and a filet. Everything was cooked perfectly, and had amazing seasoning and flavor. Priced well for the taste and flavor.
Great Dinner, nice ambiance, we had a pleasant dinner with friends.
Great meal both my wife and I had the specialties of the house, the scallops and the shrimp and grits. Both of these dishes were excellent.
The service was friendly and efficient, the food was divine, and the ambiance conducive to a relaxing, enjoyable evening out with friends/family.
One of if not the best in Beaufort. Consistent, great location, lively but not noisy
While our server was slow to come to our table once we sat down she was very efficient and friendly.
Kudos to the sushi chef who makes wonderful sushi!
I always have an excellent dining experience with the staff, service, food and beverage. They are a highlight to any trip to downtown Beaufort.rbible
Reliable seafood. Great oysters. Interesting menu including a quality sushi bar.
The fish of the day was a bit overpriced , however very well prepared .We were seated in a booth adjacent to the bar whereupon after our seating and being served there arrived 20 -25 drinking patrons standing adjacent to and actually leaning against our booth . Too loud background music was stamped out by the loud talking group . I am not saying that I would not go back but next time I would certainly ask for a relocation even after starting to dine .
I can't say enough good things about our server ,she was a 5 star winner
Best restaurant in Beaufort. Service was excellent. All six of us enjoour meals. Thanks Saltus for impressing my PA friends
Best crab cake I have ever had. All other food was wonderful, too, especially the soups. Couldn't read the menu without my phone flashlight, tho'. A little more light would be better.
We've been to Saltus River Grill many times over the last 14 years. It is consistently well prepared, presented and very flavorful.
Our waitress was outstanding in every respect.
Very nice restaurant, service, staff and menu were all superb
Excellent fine dining option in Beaufort SC, and easy walking distance from most places to stay. Eat outside if possible, with a nice view of the Beaufort River. Inside was a little noisy, particularly for a Sunday night. But the food and service was first-rate.
A fantastic way to spend our 6th wedding anniversary.
FRESH seafood, awesome service, and very, very clean!
This restaurant and others need to adopt a cell phone policy to make the dining experience enjoyable for all. The couple next to us used their speaker phone to talk to their grandchild! No manners!
While the food was well prepared and tasted excellent we found it overpriced for what we received. We live in a town with a lot of farm to table restaurants and are familiar with chef owned facilities. Never the less we still found things over priced. For no wine by the glass to be less than $10 seemed a bit steep and for a draft cider to be $5.50 a glass also a bit steep.
The building looked nice and the view of the river was pretty. The noise was frankly ridiculous as it felt that tables near us had to shout in order to have a reasonable conversation. The waitress had to nearly shout to share the specials. We picked Sunday because we thought that it would be quieter. No such luck.
I am sure it is popular with locals but we found it was not what we were looking for. We had 4 drinks, and several small plates with sides and still spent over $100. I think $70-75 AFTER tip would be more appropriate.
We were visiting Beaufort and a friend recommended the Saltus River Grill to us. We very very pleased with our meals. The ambiance was very nice. The outdoor area in front of the restaurant with the fire pit is a very nice touch. The bread that comes to the table was so warm and soft, it was delicious. I tried not to eat too much as I didn't want to fill up on the bread and not be able to eat my meal. I ordered wood fire grilled oysters. They were very good but after living in Louisiana for a couple of years, I don't think I have ever had Oysters as good as Drago's Seafood Restaurant. Those are the best that I have eaten. My wife ordered the tomato bisque soup and grilled cheese for her appetizer. It was very good as well and had a nice flavor to it. For her main course, she ordered a chicken dish that was very tender but lacked seasoning. It could have been a home run but it was just missing some flavor as it was a little bland. I ordered the caramelized sea scallops and they were delicious. The scallops were cooked to perfection and the butternut squash puree was a nice compliment to the meal. The service was great!
My husband and I are seafood snobs having grownup in this area. This was some of the freshest seafood and best food overall we have ever had in a restaurant! We look forward to eating there again soon!
Worth it if in Beaufort. I think best restaurant in town
Food was great and came soon after we ordered. Waiter was nice and we loved the atmosphere.
The food is good, but just a bit too pricey for the serving size. We were there for the (4-course) fixed price menu on Valentine's Day ($75 per, not including wine), and knew going in that the meal wouldn't be inexpensive, but were let down a little by the small portions. One doesn't mind paying premium prices if the meal is reasonably substantial. Saltus is a nice place, but we likely won't be in a hurry to return.
Overall, I highly recommend this place! The only negative to SRG was our server. I took my date here on Valentine's Day. The Ambiance was fantastic, and my date absolutely loved the location of the restaurant. The server that we had was not terrible, but extremely awkward. Me nor my date are anything near awkward and both of us felt very weird every time he approached. Im not sure if his name was ever even given, but i am pretty sure he never even introduced himself. Me and my date we're not exactly sure what to order, and after asking him for a little bit of time to choose our 4 courses, he awkwardly sat there waited on us to choose. Again could have been just an unlucky server because the other servers seemed very outgoing and genuine. Other than this unconformable and awkward situation. The dinner and experience was overall amazing! Will return for future special occasions!
Love this place! Great Valentines Day evening. Looking forward to summertime when soft shell crab is in season!!!
The special Valentine’s Day menu is well worth it. Loved every course.
Dine or Feed? Saltus is a place where you go to Dine. Incredible food selection, great staff serving you and priced well for gourmet food. This is a place with ambiance and character. Please do not show up in jeans, etc. This is not Chili's or Texas Roadhouse.
We had a great meal, super appetizers and some wonderful selections. Love it.
We think Saltus is the best restaurant in Beaufort. Beautiful interior, great food, great menu, outstanding and professional service. It is a little pricey though, particularly for Beaufort.
Second time eating here while visiting Beaufort. Did not disappoint!! The oysters on the half shell were wonderful. The wahoo special was delicious!!
Best raw oysters in town.
