The food was delicious and our waiter, Josh, was outstanding. I did feel the cost of the meal was on the high side and didn’t feel that was a good value.
A great restaurant for a date! Great food, great service and what a view! The live jazz was just a cherry on top! Highly recommended.
Enjoyed the location and the food outside on the patio. The four of us shared many appetizers as our dinner. This allowed us to sample more items than a typical dinner. We agreed all were great. One item came that we didn't order and we kept it on the house. Nice. We recommend the restaurant and will return.
Lovely sunset dinner with a great view of Sedona’s red rock as a back drop, truly picturesque. Kiltlifter and Flora Sonora paired well with the deviled eggs and grilled corn to start us off. The carnitas pailed in comparison to the stuffed peppers and left my husband contemplating vegetarianism. We didn’t have room for dessert, but had to try the pineapple down cake and s’mores sundae. The pineapple upside down cake had us wishing we had left more room for dessert. Took our coffee to the courtyard and enjoyed the bats feasting in the sunset.
Amazing flavours. Great ambiance.
Great location and delicious food and cocktails. Reasonable prices for the wine list, but single malt prices were outrageous.
Great outdoor seating at Saltrock Kitchen in the Hotel Amara Kimpton. We both had the filet steak and it was perfect.
We were hesitant to dine here as there was a large wedding rehearsal dinner, but after spending the day hiking and swimming we were too tired and hungry to explore beyond Amara and so we made reservations for 7:45.
The hostess was nowhere insight and we were tempted to seat ourselves. She arrived apologetic 10 minutes later and informed us that there was no patio seating available, but she could seat us immediately inside. We’re too hungry to object.
The theme continued as it took the server more than
15 minutes to stop by and take our drink order; by this time we were ready to place our entire order; which seemed to throw him off.
The corn arrived before our drinks, it was a little too salty, but had good flavor and an unexpected nice crunch, thanks to corn nuts. We had hoped the Harvest salad would follow shortly and when it didn’t, we asked for some bread to hold us over. It took 15 minutes for the bread to arrive and when it did it was toasted , not what we expected, but it was yummy thick cut sourdough.
The harvest salad arrived without apples and had raw yellow squash slices instead. The flavor of the pomegranate and squash did not compliment each other.
The ribeye was a more than generous portion and perfectly, medium rare. The Chimichurri sauce was perfect, not too overwhelming. The grilled broccolini on the other hand was fried to a crisp and too salty to eat.
Because a decadent dessert always makes things better, we opted for the chocolate layer cake with strawberries, caramel and whip cream. Yikes, the dessert that arrived did not remotely resemble chocolate layer cake. Three rectangles of a hot dark cake, salty and more like a bread pudding were arranged in a spoke pattern on top of heated strawberries (think kerns), whip cream and caramel. After one bite, we sent it back.
The tab arrived and we were shocked to see that they charged us $5 for the bread.
We will be dining offsite during our 4 day stay.
They were great to us with a birthday - free desert and a nice touch was a card signed by all the staff. View was beautiful and the pork belly on chipotle grits with fried egg was delicious!
Beautiful views to see while sitting on the out door patio. We were able to watch the sunset with the red rocks in the distance. The food was very good. We both had osso boca pork shank for dinner and the serving is large, very tender , and enjoyable. Service was fine and a little quirky. This restaurant is inside the hotel and courtyard.
I ordered the salmon and it was over cooked even after I had asked the waiter for it to be cooked medium well. I complained to the waiter and he had the kitchen re-do another order. The second time it came under-cooked (more like raw inside). I did not want to wait for another order and ate the part that was cooked. Mostly the outside. The waiter apologized and did not charge me for the meal, but it was disappointing as the sauce was very good.
Amazing service and very friendly staff. Unique interpretations of common dishes. I loved the crispiness of the carnitas and presentation.
We loved Saltrock Kitchen! We were in from out of town and had heard great things. The cocktail menu is to die for, and the food is delicious! We had the Pork Belly and Grilled Corn appetizers, Watermelon Gazpacho, Osso Bucco and the Filet. Everything was amazing . My steak was cooked exactly the way I like it. Do NOT miss the S'mondae for dessert! Yum yum yum. Highly recommend!
Amazing service! Really good cocktails. You better really live chile flavor, tho...
Great food and great service!!! The watermelon gazpacho was outstanding!!
Beautiful view of Sedona's iconic red rocks while dining outside. I am vegetarian and ordered the stuffed peppers which were excellent. It had beautifully seasoned quinoa and perfectly cooked/grilled vegetables on top (purple carrots, zucchini, broccolini, and mushrooms). My husband ordered the Duo of Chicken which interestingly was missing both the brussel sprouts and cornbread so he was a bit disappointed. Overall, we enjoyed the food that arrived and the view.
The view would probably overcome the last muted and overpriced menu but we dined after dark and lost the benefit.
Outstanding service and food at the SaltRock. I was in the worst mood that night and they took excellent care of me and the waiter and manager were all very attentive. I left in a far better mood having had an outstanding, delicious dinner. They really go above and beyond for their guests. Extremely professional staff. They helped make my Sedona stay a better experience. I would highly recommend going for a special dining experience. You'll love it.
The hamburger and fries were great. The service was very good. The turkey wrap left a lot to be desired. It was made from processed turkey and was dry. We only ate half of it.
You cannot beat the view. The ambiance and view are undoubtedly the best in Sedona. The grossly overpriced food and the mediocre flavor has to be some of the worst ever. The food was bland, uninteresting, and poorly prepared. It was presented marvelously, but maybe looks (and view) aren't everything?
I mean, you charged me 4 dollars for 2 pieces of toast.
We came back for lunch to have the guacamole kit — we had stayed at the hotel for our babymoon and it was our favorite thing. The online menu for the restaurant and on Open Table both show that this is a still a menu item, but when we asked, we were told it “hasn’t been on the menu for a while”. I would strongly suggest bringing it back, or updating the menus to accurately reflect the offerings so possible patrons know what to expect.
Went up to Sedona for the first time as a day trip. This restaurant has a great outdoor area and wonderful margaritas. Our server was very knowledgeable and attentive to our needs as he came and checked on us multiple times. Food was great but the scenery was even better!!
Good food, but dishes were salty. I suppose that’s why the restaurant was named that way.
SaltRock was amazing! The food was delicious (everyone loved the veggie cauliflower tacos and the pork belly bites. The salmon was a HUGE favorite.) Drinks and ambiance were fantastic! Will definitely go again for any occasion!
No happy hour.
Craft cocktails were amazing. Tourist prices but organic ingredients. Was surprised by the high quality of food for a hotel restaurant. I had the Osso Bucco & my husband had the kale salad & salmon.
Both were delicious! Dinner beat our expectations!
Overall poor, the ossobuco needed a knife to cut it because it was dry and bland. The pineapple upside down cake was very disappointing. Server comped it but still sad. It seemed like it was made by a stay at home chef watching a TV show. The cake was a muffin pan yellow cake that tasted like it was straight out of the box store bought. The pineapples felt dehydrated. The ambiance for being outside is awful. It doesn't even feel like a restaurant. It is more like a cafeteria setting. No table decorations, no candles, nothing. We didn't even have side plates. Just two rolled up silverware sets laying on the table. Way overpriced for what you get and disappointing settings.
We love their service. Southwest cuisines are fine. We are very appreciated that!
My wife and I went for an anniversary. Our server, Blair, was wonderful. The room is fairly plain, but very nice. The margaritas were incredible - one spicy, one plain - both great. Our dinners were excellent - well prepared and served timely. There was music but moderated, so we could still have a nice conversation. Excellent dining experience.
Had a lovely evening outside
Exceptional waiter, Blair (he), asked us questions about our tastes .listened, and then recommended cocktails and interpreted the various food options. Very reasonable along with exceptional food.
Saltrock was everything we could have wanted for a birthday dinner! The service was excellent, Blair was very knowledgeable and professional. His recommendations were divine and he even brought out a signed birthday card from the staff and a complimentary dessert for my girlfriend's birthday. The view is also incredible, we went back for breakfast the next day to enjoy the views and walk along the creek. We will definitely be back!
We had been there, under different ownership, years ago so we thought we would give it another try. The portions were large, the food rich but not in a good way. I ordered a crab cake appetizer and it was large enough to be a main course. An unconventional take on a crab cake with polenta bottom and lots of spicy sauce on top. I also ordered a Sedona chopped salad which ended up feeding the two of us...my husband ordered the scallops which were also drowned in a spicy sauce, and contained only two scallops. The view was very nice but while the tables inside were dressy the patio lacked ambiance. We each had a drink but for $100 plus meal, we would not return.
Deviled Eggs. Unbelievably good! Corn, yum! Carnitas, perfection!
Service, perfect! Oh.... And, they had an amazing Prix Fix option so it was affordable too!!
We ate at the Saltrock on our last night staying at the hotel and had a wonderfully relaxing meal. The food and drinks were quite good and though it had been a hot July day, we ate late enough that the patio was quite comfortable. You cannot beat the view of the red rocks as you are dining. We also appreciated that they are dog friendly!
Salmon was way too salty
This setting is gorgeous - looking straight at the red rocks. But the patio decor was sparse to say the least. I feel they could try a bit harder with the restaurant part of the patio.
The food was delicious and the servers were very nice. I would recommend coming for a drink or 2 but head somewhere else for dinner. The hotel room balconies look down around the restaurant area which was kind of weird. Overall - have a drink then dine elsewhere.
Great food, cocktails and a gorgeous view!
After reading all the reviews, we had high hopes for a top-quality fine meal. It turned out that the margaritas were the best part of the visit. The food arrived cool (not cold, but not hot!) And was just unexceptional in every way. The ambience of the outdoor seating was very nice and The service was excellent, but the food was nothing to write home about. We expected more. Sorry, but we won’t be back.
Beautiful ambiance and delicious food
