Food and portion size was magnificent and the view was breathtaking!
Celebrating a 40th birthday, staff was amazing and accommodating. Food was great :-)
Saltrock was listed as one of the best places to eat in Sedona. I know some of that was about the outside dining, so I asked to sit outside. Even though there were multiple tables available near the space heaters (it was a cool evening), she literally said "the table I was going to seat you at isn't near the heat" rather than seating us near a heater, so she sat us inside, with a full view of the empty tables outside. I ordered one of their specialty margaritas, and found the abundance of chili powder on the drink and salt overwhelmed any flavor the drink was supposed to have beyond the tequila. My wife ordered the filet mignon, I did the ribeye. Inside the dim restaurant, it was impossible to see the fat from the meat from the gristle on the ribeye. The filet was cooked well, but the seasoning overwhelmed the meats, rather than supporting or enhancing the flavor of the steaks.
I'm sure they have great food, but we didn't get any.
This was a very good restaurant. It is in the Kimpton Hotel. Small cozy outdoor seating area but you are definitely in and amongst guests. Heated area was good the night we were there. It is not $ though. It is fairly expensive. That wasn’t a detractor for us but I think people need to know that upfront.
Service was EXCEPTIONAL!! Parking is
Definitely have mixed feeling about Saltrock. The appetizers were excellent and I wish I would have stopped there. We ordered the deviled eggs, shrimp & grits, carne asada tacos and the diver scallops. They were all 5 star worthy. Like I said, should have gotten the check and called it a night!
For entrees, we ordered the braised osso bucco, the duo of chicken and the roasted salmon. We just weren't blown away. My daughter liked her chicken dish but the osso bucco and the salmon were flavorless. Very surprising considering the appetizers were seasoned perfectly. It honestly tasted like everything was cooked using a sous vide machine. I don't know this to be a fact, its really the only thing that would explain how the food could be cooked perfectly but have little flavor.
For desert, we ordered the pineapple upside down cake and the chocolate cake. The pineapple dessert was really good - a little bite to it, but not overwhelming. The chocolate cake on the other hand had zero flavor. I don't think I've ever left a chocolate desert unfinished, but it was just so bland.
It was my first time in Sedona so next time, I'll try a different restaurant. Don't think I'll be dining here again. The bill was over $300 (with a bottle of wine) and for that much $ I expect to be wowed.
We met here for an early dinner. I had the corn and the harvest salad, which were excellent. The appetizer of tacos had more food than the salmon entrée. The salmon was good, but sparse. My husband left hungry. Great outdoor space with a beautiful view and corn hole! Excellent drinks.
A very delicious memorable meal. From cocktails to appetizers, main course and dessert, all were delicious, well prepared and served with great attention.
Setting nice, service not great at lunch time and a shortage of vegetarian options. Guacamole needs some spicing up.
Many other places to consider in time, perhaps good for just a cocktail and nibbles. Not my first time here !
The setting is beautiful and relaxing. There is onsite parking. We did the pre-fix menu and it was delicious.
Very nice atmosphere and beautiful view. Food was ok.
Saltrock does not fail to impress! We were seated outdoors at a table with a beautiful view. Very creative menu using lots of local ingredients. Our Osso Buco (we shared a salad, entree and dessert) was fabulous! Our waitress was extremely plesant and efficient. A selection of local craft beer and fine wines made the dining experience a special one.
second time here, but no improvement. pricey for the selections.
We sat outside and enjoyed the view of the red rocks. It is close to an outdoor sitting area and pool but quieted up during the dinner hour. We had the 3 course dinner and it was delicious. Carnitas tacos, pork shank, and chocolate layer cake for my husband and carnitas tacos, grilled salmon, and S'Mondae for me. Margaritas were so-so. Service was excellent!
The food was top notch, our server Juan was friendly and welcoming. The West Fork margarita and salmon was AMAZING! Would return in a heart-beat.
We actually ate here for lunch and dinner during our trip. We really enjoyed the Guacamole and tacos on the lunch menu a lot. They have a good margarita menu as well. The dinner was also good. I think we would be more likely to return for lunch than dinner.
Amazing. Beautiful atmosphere friendly staff and delicious food
If it wouldn’t have been for the margaritas and service the entire dining experience would’ve been a flop. The menu seemed appealing, but the preparation was definitely off. We ate the carne asada tacos which the meat was incredibly tough to eat. The osso buco was mediocre. The food vs price was terrible. The margaritas was absolutely delicious and the service was great— salvaging the whole experience. The view was nice also.
We sat on the patio looking out at the red Rock structures in the distance - spectacular! The food is imaginative and wonderful. Unique cocktails. Try the southwest shrimp with lemon grits appetizer, grilled salmon (crunchy crust but cooked to medium, the potato side dish was undercooked), do of chicken with brussel sprouts and s'mondae. Sauces with each dish were delicious, too.
Only the service left something to be desired. We had to ask a bus boy to find our server at one point.
Got the guac kit... guac was decent and the chips were good, but it was kind of over-priced. The waitress was very nice to give us the guac kit complementary when she heard about our tough morning (getting lost and bloody nose). Food overall was decent but nothing special. The garden salad was good but the harvest salad was too tart. We ordered the pork tortas, which we thought was too spicy. I generally like mildly spicy food, but the tortas left the mouth/tongue burning. Portions were generous and the service was very good. Nice view of Snoopy Rock.
Lovely meal in this stylish spot! Outdoor seating available but with the large doors open to the patio the indoor seating was just as nice.
What a magnificent setting! The food was uncomplicated, superbly flavored and exquisitely presented. I loved it!!
My family stayed at the hotel so we had breakfast two times during our stay. Service was great. Food was delicious. The vanilla whipped cream on the waffles was too sweet and could be left off. Great hashbrowns! It was good quality food!
Despite the fact that the restaurant was not very crowded we had to wait 10 minutes to our table. The meat /cheese plate was OK. Two of my children got pasta dinners which were severely under cooked and which were nearly crunchy. My salmon was overcooked(so were the vegetables it was served over). My husband ordered the carne asada tacos which were the only good thing on the menu. Prices were high for ok food.
Was hoping for an early dinner but only offered snack menu at 3:45... what we had was good so really no regrets. Great view to the east.
The food was good. We really enjoyed the harvest salad. The dishes were unique. The pineapple upside down cake as very good. If You get the prefix menu it is a good value. Interesting and creative cocktail selection! Our main complaint was how slow the service was! The restaurant was fairly empty yet our food took a very long time!
Juan was absolutely amazing. This is my second time to SaltRock. I go there every time I am in Sedona. The setting is spectacular..... the food very interesting...... and the service impeccable and professional. Highly recommended.
This place was wonderful. The cocktail list was impressive, food was impeccable, and the waitstaff was outstanding.
We enjoyed this restaurant so much! Great food; healthy but delicious, so it suited each of us in our family of 5. The bill was a bit hefty but mid-strip Sedona in a beautiful hotel, it was to be expected. I do hope we will visit, again, one day!
Wonderful night in the patio with view of the glowing red rocks at sunset! Our server was spot-on with food (cooked to perfection) and drink (creative!) suggestions for each of us. A must enjoy place.
The food was excellent. Not to many choices but what we had was delicious!
The food was not flavorful. The atmosphere was ordinary. Would not return. Too many other places to eat in Sedona.
We stayed at the hotel, but booked on open table anyway. Glad we did cause the hostess was not very welcoming. We showed up early and she would not sit us down despite the restaurant being empty till the exact time of the booking. She kept saying come back in 5 but wouldn’t seat us. It was hard to understand cause there were more free tables than full and we were guests at the hotel.
If weather permits, sit outside.
This is quite good food, prepared with some original twists that play on regionally common recipes and dishes. The grilled corn is, as well noted otherwise, great. The margaritas were the standouts- orginal and just the right mix of flavors. Service was sincere and prompt. Not always as smooth as one would hope with this level of dining. Views are wonderful, although we were placed near a serving area and with a limited view. As with much of Sedona and Grand Canyon the serving staff seems relatively unsure and inexperienced and could use some more supportive but guiding supervision. Overall, while quite satisfying it would not stand out much except there are few high quality restaurants to compete with.
Great restaurant. The wine selection is not great but they make a mean Margarita.
We ate dinner here during our vacation in Sedona. The setting outside is lovely. Great red rocks view and a fire as well as warmers on a cool March evening. The drinks and dinner were excellent. I would revommend the roasted corn appetizer. The tomato bisque was delicious and a little spicy. Lovely dining spot.
