Service was not great, drinks took way too long considering it was the end of the night and the place was not that busy, took another five minutes for my daughter to get a straw. (Let me add that with her disability she needs a straw because she can't continue to put her head back to take a drink.) Food was okay, not horrible, but nothing that memorable. Also, it was way too dark. Even my daughter had to use the light on her phone to see the menu. Don't waste your time here.
Superb! Food was amazing, over all experience was excellent
Good food & service nice place
Hotel restaurant at best. (yes, they are in a hotel/resort). Very small dining area in the winter - no outside seating so that hurts them. View is nice but there is much better views at cheaper places up the hill. If you’re staying at the resort, fine. Otherwise do not bother. Fairly expensive for what you get. Ambiance just sucks - located just off the lobby with a small bar flowing into the eating area. Noise was high and lots of people just walking by to get to the patio, There is so much better in the area. So very disappointed that we just left halfway through the meal (paid of course). Went to another place for drinks and dessert. Couldn’t get out of there fast enough. By the way - menu was very limited and, surprisingly, not very innovative. I guess I was expecting more.
Right off the beaten track, this is a gem of a restaurant. Free parking for dining which was a big plus. Food was amazing. We had the Posole. Not a huge portion but a good starter to be shared for two. We had the pork torta which was also amazing and we shared that. A wonderful spot to get away from the tourists up the hill!
Osso bucco amazingly tender. The margarita with casa noble tequila was perfect! Thank you!
The food was delicious. The menu is not extensive and entrees are primarily chunks of protein like steak, fish, and pork. I was expecting more variety in terms of southwestern food. I did select the grilled corn and carnitas tacos from the appetizer menu and enjoyed them thoroughly. The soup was a pureed sweet potato with chorizo, also very good. The restaurant is in a hotel lobby which requires driving down a steep hill and using complementary valet.
We were seated at a table that was very dark. There was a tiny battery tea light on the table. We asked for extra lighting and the server seemed offended and was uninterested. We wound up getting our own extra lighting and he returned with a poor attitude, telling us “whatever floats your boat”. His attitude was not fitting with a lovely dining room. Right after that we had a new server - the poor server fired us.....Our new server was great.
We had a great bottle of wine and fabulous prime rib that was prepared to perfection.
Too bad that our first server started our special occasion so rudely.
Girls lunch. Service was outstanding and food was tasty. The $25 prix Fire was great!
First the setting, of course, was spectacular. We had dinner outside with a view of camel and snoopy rocks. They set us up with heaters to make us comfortable on a rather chilly night and provided us all with nice, cozy blankets. Second, our server, Blair, provided us with a great dining experience. He correctly read that we wanted to luxuriate over cocktails, appetizers and the sunset and adjusted his service delivery to our pace. And third, the food was just wonderful.
Beautiful view and setting! Came here for a 65th birthday lunch and sat outside under the heaters. I wish the landscapers aren't running equipment and blowers during restaurant hours, but I guess they have to did it sometime..
Food was delicious and came out promptly. Presentation was nice and service was efficient.
Great service; delicious food; amazing atmosphere! My daughter and I shared the pre-fix menu - an appetizer, main dish, and dessert. It was all delicious. Such a fantastic hidden gem!
Excellent food & service. Will absolutely be a stop every time we are in Sedona!
If nothing else, visit for the craft margaritas alone. The food is a great take on Southwestern classics, service is outstanding and the vibe is perfect Sedona upscale.
I did not care for the menu. Food was good not great. Very limited choices and not food I would normally choose. I struggled to find something that sounded good. I am a cook an we eat out at many $$ restaurants. This one was disappointing
Ambiance terrific. Food choices limited. Apps were terrific salads too. Main courses very average.
It was fabulous! We will definitely go again when we are back in town visiting from Austin, TX!
The reason we are giving Saltrock the review we are is because we've visited many Kimpton Hotel restaurants in the past and, unfortunately, Saltrock did not meet expectations. The food was average. Our waitress was pleasant but not very helpful or motivated to have our questions answered. Turn around time on our food was fine. Turn around on the drinks was poor -- she forgot some of our beverage orders. Quality and presentation of the food was fine but the taste was only ok. Saltrock appears to have a nice outdoor patio with great views but due to the weather, we ended up sitting inside. Because the restaurant is completely open to the hotel's foyer, the ambiance and noise level is poor. Because there are so many other, great restaurant options in Sedona, we cannot recommend Saltrock to others.
The food and service were great. We did have to wait about ten minutes (maybe 5?, sometimes it seems time drags when you are hungry) before a server came to our table, but once she did, it was lovely. We asked to move tables because the noise level was a plus 10! A very loud group of folks who were REALLY enjoying themselves were making it hard to hear each other even though we were sitting right next to each other. There weren't many vegan food options, but what we ordered was DELICIOUS. Seriously - some of the best vegan food in Sedona. It was a great last night of our vacation dinner.
The prix fixe menu for dinner is great! Good value and delicious options. Don't leave without trying the S'mondae. Drinks are wonderful too - the rim on the flora sonora margarita is to die for.
My husband enjoyed his steak but I thought the food was overpriced and very limited selection. I would have preferred to eat somewhere else.
The meal was impeccable! We had the salmon with Peruvian potatoes and Amarillo sauce, and it was perfection. Growing up in a Mexican I should have taken one to go. Blair, our server, was welcoming and so accommodating with our son. We look forward to coming back soon.
Great margaritas and nice view of redrocks. It’s inside a hotel but not the average hotel restaurant. We really enjoyed having lunch there.
Delightful staff. I think we met everyone except the chef. Wonderful food and drinks. Would not miss on a return trip.
Excellent lunch options. Not extremely hot but good nonetheless.
Creative choices for vegetarians as well as meat eaters.
Fabulous! I ordered a filet and could cut it with a butter knife.... oso buco was tender and salmon was perfect.
A definite MUST when you’re in town
Superb, thoughtful service! Excellent food and attentive, caring attention to allergy requirements. The staff hand wrote us and signed and anniversary card. The place oozes excellent customer service!
Great cocktails. Vibrant but small bar. Amazing salads. Entrees above average. Friendly hostess, competent bar service, very good waiter. I would return.
We had a great breakfast with a beautiful view. We are looking forward to having dinner here tomorrow night. Highly recommended!
Did not live up to the price or the hype. Food was fine but not special. The margaritas were wonderful though!
They charged $4 for bread. What a rip off. It would have been nice if the server had informed us of this in advance.
It was ok. Sontunderstand why its so dark, and I mean dark. They couldnt even turn on more lights bc they didnt have any. Our server was ok. She didn't come around so much.
Delicious food, gorgeous views, fantastic service!
The staff couldn’t have been nicer but on a Slow Sunday night they were out of all entrees except for chicken! I don’t think I’ve never had that happen at a restaurant
Anniversary, very nice!
Solid first visit. Filet and Osso buco were very good. Good service from Blair.
We had a fabulous 40th birthday dinner. Thank you Nicole, Josh and Wade for helping to make it so special!
We enjoyed having dinner at Salt Rock Southwest Kitchen . The service was excellent. The food was very good, however the number of entree selections on the menu was very limited. We would consider returning to dine here the next time we are visiting in Sedona if here was a larger selection of entree choices.
Live classical guitar music was wonderful!
