Saltillo Mexican Kitchen
We offer great service, a comfortable environment, a well stocked bar with a curated selection of wine and Mexican beers, backed by over a decade of experience. Saltillo is a Mexican restaurant with Mexican roots, which is a great addition to the neighborhood as well to our city.
The steak salad was served with the worst thinly sliced, overcooked tough steak. I said nothing, but it was bad. Quite out of character for its reputation. Disappointing on 1 of three dinners ordered.
We celebrated my sons birthday there. We shared a couple of appetizers and the Saltillo steak. The service was perfect, cocktails were tasty, and I actually think it was a very good value considering we shared the steak. We ordered it medium rare and it was cooked to perfection. I think my son would like this to be an annual event!
We arrived 10min late for a 9pm reservation. The restaurant thought weren’t going to show and started to shut down for the evening. We were welcomed in and taken care of. Always a good time at this restaurant
Dining at Saltillo Mexican Kitchen has become a Christmas season tradition with our son, his wife and her parents. This is our 5th year to celebrate there with them and we have never been disappointed. Highly recommend!
Everything was great! Love this place! I do recommend to others!
Nice dinner with an old friend. Food was very good.
We like Saltillo. Highly recommend the beef alambres, and the tamales. Delicious.
We love the food and the management
This is the best Mexican steakhouse in Houston with the delicious rid-eye cap you can find in town !
Everything and everyone great!
We totally had an enjoyable evening, and will return soon.
From food to service we love this place! Food tastes homemade!
This really a great little restaurant. There were four of us and we had a good variety of food. Steaks, seafood and enchiladas. All really excellent. Plus pleasantly different from other Mexican cuisines. Really good Margaritas and pleasant service make for a nice evening.
Great service as always plus the food was outstanding.
Outstanding as usual! Steak is amazing, tres leches so good!
Nice place. Very authentic mole
Perfect as always
The last 2 times we’ve eaten here has been a real disappointment. The food used to be cooked with a wonderful mesquite flavoring to the steaks and veggies. Now tastes like it was just cooked on a flattop grill with no mesquite flavor at all. The queso was more grease than cheese. This used to be one of our favorite spots, can’t see coming back here after last two visits.
Saltillo is a small but quaint little neighborhood restaurant with lovely ambiance; however, I am not a fan of restaurant sporting televisions in various corners with games on. That's fine for a sports bar but Saltillo is not a sports bar. I was one of a party of 4; I ordered the brisket, which was quite salty, but I had read that on another review, so I was prewarned. Another person ordered the steak milanesa, which was dry and tasteless. Another person ordered the enchiladas, and he said they were a bit bland. The 4th person ordered the lamb, which he said was very good. We all thought it a bit odd that the restaurant serves beans along with potatoes rather than with rice. The sides were also a bit bland. We ordered to desserts: the rum cake and the flourless pecan cake, both of which were very good.
I leave a review after almost every time we have eaten at Saltillo because each time it’s better than the last. Saltillo is not close to our house but it’s so worth the drive! They have great cocktails and an extensive wine list and from the appetizer to the desert the food is incredible. This time we started with the beef carpaccio and it was excellent. For our main course we all chose something different...the tacos in mole sauce (amazing mole!), asada steak and the brisket were fantastic and one of us had the Kobe beef burger that he says was the best burger he’s ever had. The service is always on point and Francisco the manager is so friendly and welcoming. Please try Saltillo it is a hidden gem in Houston. Be sure to make a reservation as it is small and always busy.
As always great food and service.
This was a very good experience and we enjoyed the food in this family-style restaurant. It was a a little too greasy and the brisket was too salty for our taste, but we will come back and try other dishes.
Great Service !!!!
Great Food !!!
The service was excellent and the food very good. This was our 2nd time there. I like this place for the intimate setting and very attentive service. The only thing on this visit was the fact that we had a table for two in between 2 larger tables but it was ok in the end. The margaritas were delicious as was the rum cake which we shared for dessert. Would highly recommend this hidden gem. Mexican food, not Tex mex.
Saltillo Mexican Kitchen is a local gem in the Bellaire area. We had their Enchiladas Saltillo, Enchiladas De Pollo en Mole, and the Flourless Pecan Cake. They were all delicious! We will be back whenever we in the neighborhood!
Our party of 5 had the Tapa de Lomo Ribeye Cap, which we all agreed was one of the most flavorful and tender steaks that we have ever had. The accompaniments were tasty and well prepared. Service was excellent and not overly attentive. We will definitely be back.
Waiter gave us a good recommendation - good quality of food - kindly and quick services
Saltillo's is one of our go to restaurants. We always enjoy food like alambres and ribeye. Very friendly staff especially the manager. Also enjoy enchiladas and appetizers. portions are very generous. Nice wine by the glass selection.
Last dinner before college student goes back to LSU for senior year!
Fresh and flavor full lunch. Thanks so much. The service was outstanding.
Consistently great food. If you get the large steak that is intended to be shared and share it between 4 people, you get a great steak and sides at an amazing price.
THE best Mexican food in Houston. The service is always superb and the food is beyond outstanding.
Everything great except the brisket was was over salted or marinated
If you are looking for a great neighborhood restaurant with great food I would look no farther. The food is fresh and tasty but a little more expensive than your average Mexican restaurant. Staff is very friendly but one tip is to make a reservation or call a head because they are pretty full on the weekends.
What a great neighborhood gem! Have had the steaks here before. ... Awesome! This time we went for some of the Satillo cuisine. Equally awesome!
Great spicy margaritas and really good food. Every bite was flavorful, and the sauces were excellent across the board. Server was attentive but not overbearing. Ate early and about half full so noise was minimal. Great date night.
Overall, the food was tasty, but we thought $19 for a shrimp cocktail with only 3 nice size, but not gigantic shrimp was a bit outrageous.
We had the Angus Prime Sirloin Dinner for Four. Everything tasted great and I thought it was a good bargain.
Saltillo always has outstanding food, drinks and service. They are absolutely a neighborhood gem.
This was our first time at the restaurant. We liked the decor, the service was good, The food was delicious! And many choices on the menu. We will definitely be back.
