The fried chicken was excellent as was the jalapeno mashed potatoes. The spinach salad was very good and the baked alaskan with coffee was excellent. The restaurant is nice and service is great. But it is so loud you can't talk to someone at the same table.

Amazing! We were offered to sit at the chef table/bar! Wow! So awesome. We witnessed each plate being created. The chefs were funny and professional. Cocktails were delicious. Food so tasty and fresh. Thank you for an amazing experience! It’s no wonder the place was packed!

Food returned for doneness. My spouse had to wait while I ate. Steak cold at table, I’m guessing due being precooked? Server didn’t offer to correct the issue.

Wait Staff was very attentive, food and wine were delicious. Restaurant was busy but you could still have a conversation without yelling at each other. Would definitely recommend coming here for any occasion.

The quail knots were mouth watering and It was the best and freshest Mahi Tuna I have ever had, my husband’s Scallops were melt in your mouth and perfectly seasoned, the two sides were fantastic (Brussel sprouts and fingerling potatoes). Our waiter was fabulous, never let our water get below half a glass and kept our wine full. The manager stopped by to talk and when a plate was emptied it was removed from the table. I just wish I had room for dessert. I give it a 5 plus and will most definitely be going back.

Food is way too overpriced for such little portions. Also, seeing the prices you would think these food options would taste amazing,but most things we ordered seemed simple like if I could cook it myself at home. The food was bland and had no taste to it at all. It wasn’t bad food,just wasn’t worth the price at all. I paid $138 for to plates,2 small plates and a salad with water for the both of us. Any other fast food place would’ve have been a better option than that place.

Probably my tenth or so time at Salt over the last 18 months. Foods I’ve tried have all been very good with unique flares added to sometimes traditional dishes. When when ordering repeats (big fan of the filet), they are very consistent and always perfectly cooked. If you can get a seat at the back bar by the kitchen, you’ll get an opportunity to see the chefs craft their unique dishes which are usually enough of a teaser for a return visit. Never been disappointed by Salt. Will always be back when I’m in the valley.

The food was absolutely amazing, but due to the noise level it was hard to carry on a conversation with my date. The service was decent but the waiter seemed distracted and it was an hour and fifteen minutes until he had taken our dinner order.

This is the best meal I’ve had in McAllen since moving here from Austin this summer, and I can’t wait to go back. The shrimp appetizer was delicious and the scallops were amazing. I also tasted the grilled pear salad, my husband’s ahi and the Mac and cheese, and all were excellent as well. We enjoyed a few pitchers of the Cucumber sip as the night wore on and nibbled the crème brûlée we didn’t need but thoroughly enjoyed. Our server was super knowledgeable, friendly and always around when we needed him. We really had a great evening. Everything was outstanding and we look forward to returning.

We ordered the salt chips, mac and cheese, duck, and ribeye. The salt chips were room temp, which was fine. But so was the mac and cheese. It tasted good still, just wasn't fresh. The ribeye was okay, not very tender and very salty. The kale with the duck was also salty, but the duck itself was fine, if not as hot as would have been expected. Our food came out fairly quickly though. Service was okay. Our server was polite enough. Still, we ran out of water more consistently than we had it, considering our dishes were salty. We did not stay for dessert.

Our waitress was absolutely amazing. Very talkative and attentive as well. My wife and I had the steaks which were cooked to perfection and were absolutely delicious as well. The atmosphere of the place was a lot smaller than I thought it would be as this was the first time I had eaten there however, it was extremely comfortable. We could hold a conversation without much ambient noise. We will definitely be back.
