When we arrived, we were seated in a weird back banquet type room. It didn’t match the decor of the restaurant at all. It felt as though they had ignored our reservations and put us is some weird overflow area. It was unacceptable considering we had the reservation for a month, so we had to wait a half an hour past our reservation to be seated in the actual restaurant. Once seated, the service and food were good, it just started off so awfully that it left me not wanting to return.
It’s a beautiful hotel with a nice restaurant with an oceanfront setting . The service is good the food is good it’s definitely worth eating there . It’s almost like the Charthouse but up more hip and modern
Salt has a great opportunity to be a landmark restaurant in Marina del Rey. We could not sit outside because of the weather. Unfortunately, it is just too loud inside.
My entree did not come with a side. That was somewhat surprising.
If you want bread and butter, its $10
We ordered a recommended dessert which was not that great. The server was great and offered to adjust it off the bill without any discussion. We found the wait staff to be busy but attentive.
We should try it again and make sure we sit outside. If I have to sit inside again I will also set my expectations accordingly.
The only issue was the Lobster pasta sauce was not great - but we spoke with the Chef who was stellar and was very gracious. We will always come back because of the great staff and great food! It is rare that there is ever an issue with the food, always fantastic!
Beautiful restaurant. We sat outside on the patio. Wonderful views. Children are accepted willing. Pablo was very kind to our granddaughter. It is very pricey $$$ It was over $350 for dinner for 4 adults and one child. It is not a place to go to frequently.
Great food and service.
Great food. Attentive service.
There are very few places by the water, we enjoyed the food .. The ambiance .. the service & the location
Yes, Shadow was an amazing server. He was Extremely professional, courteous and great conversation. The food as well as the ambiance was excellent!!
Can’t wait 😊 to return!
Upon arrival, hostess was absent for 15 minutes. Finally, a manager attempted to address the long line of people backing up... and it just continued to go downhill from there. You’re better off going to Cast and Plow at the Ritz Carlton.
I always suggest this place to friends. It is quiet, elegant, beachy, and the food is delicious. Finding places where we can talk and have an intimate conversation are hard to come by in LA.
Beautiful views of the marina! The food was excellent and the service impeccable. A great find!!
This was one the best meals I have had in a long time and all dinner guests with our party felt the same way. Every morsel was awesome. The avocado hummus was extra special ...
Salt has the best atmosphere staff and food around the Marina! We really enjoyed ourselves!
Salt delivers up the goods, from Chef Mark Gold’s amazing food creations to their comfy water side dining, the “closest to the water” dining the beach has to offer. All complimented by an on point wait staff.
The steak at breakfast was one of the best steaks I've had in a long long time.
Best restaurant I’ve ever been to for a nice meal.
On holidays from Australia 🇦🇺 and our last dinner out in L.A. Such a lovely evening with great service, views, ambiance and amazing food and wine. Thank you so much for a very memorable evening - we look forward to visiting again. 😊
Views are great, valet parking is convenient ($6 fee) however we were sitting outside and hotel guests were smoking in their balconies. It was annoying and there was nothing to do about the intense cigarette smell.
The food was very good although a little high for my budget. We had a reservation which didn’t seem to do us much good because we had to wait a half hour anyway.
Absolutely delicious food and drinks, the cocktails are spectacular
The order was not prepared as stated on the menu. The manager was not helpful at all. I would not recommend.
The ambient noise was super loud. I think you need to look into some sound treatment for the indoor portion of the the restaurant.
Food and service where excellent. Noise level in side was almost unbearable.
The view is Amazing! Looking out on the beautiful marina at sunset. Wonderful atmosphere. The service was a little inattentive. Maybe they were very busy inside?
There were no real apps to have with cocktails. Bread is 10$
We chose a hummus dip that was flavorless
I wasn’t enthused about the entrees but had pasta. The sauce was watery and not much peas or meat.
My friend had the salmon which she didn’t comment on at all
All in all I’d go back for a drink and the view
I’ve been here a few times with both my family and work colleagues. Overall, it’s a great environment but noticed that service and food quality have diminished over time. This last visit for my wife’s birthday asserted that.
The food choices were varied and the service was excellent. It would have been good to have some healthy choice desserts in addition to what was offered.
Food & service was great. The ambiance was lovely for our Easter Sunday lunch. Cocktail were outstanding. We'll definitely be coming back.
This is the 3rd time I have eaten breakfast or brunch at Salt. We meet there because my friends are from the valley and I live in Redondo Beach. The ambiance is spectacular. We sat outside. Although we said yes to having the heater turned on, no one ever came out and turned it on until we asked again. The pancakes were awesome. The whipped cream was fresh and creamy. Yum. However, our eggs were horrible. I asked for over medium - they came out hard. My friend asked for scrambled and they were like rubber. The waitress was almost MIA. Because the scenery and pancakes were awesome, we decided not to complain about the service and the eggs. We will definitely go back.
This place is incredibly expensive for what it is, we’re talking $43 for halibut, and the good quality is only so so. The restaurant is loud partly as it doubles as a sports bar and the service....is not up to the prices. Dinner for 4 was over $500 with tip.
Our server Justin was hands down the best server and what made this experience top notched. Loved his attitude and personality — super friendly, gave us just enough reco’s and space. We had the yellowtail ceviche which was amazing. It has these incredibly delicious crunchiest on top which took it to the next level. I think they were fried barley. Amazing. The steaks we had were also amazing — moist, delicious and flavorful. Could not have asked for a better meal. The ambiance is pretty. Too cold for us to sit outside, but it looked fantastic with scenes of the harbor. Great date night!
If only the limit was not 5 star. Started with top notch service (truly caring of the guests), then concise menu with excellent selection (even kids), finishing with perfect dishes. The ambiance is the icing on the cake. My family of 5 will never forget our evening at Salt.
We had the yellowtail appetizer which was very tasty and decent sized portion. We then had octopus in what seemed like a kungpao sauce. Kit was on the appetizer menu. Also very yummy and unusual. Drank an american rose seven something. Also quite good. Overall lovely experiwnce
The quality of service was excellent, the portions were adequate, and the food was made with passion and creativity!
Was seated at a fire pit on the patio. It was a bit breezy and cool but the hostess made sure she provided a couple of blankets-nice touch. The octopus appetizer and lobster pasta were both fantastic! A couple bottles of wine added to the enjoyment. Service seemed a bit slow at times but really no big deal. Overall a very nice evening.
Lobster pasta was delicious. I would try to have it again before returning home to East coast but it is decadently rich & will have to wait till I return to SALT next time I’m in town! Also breakfast was on point every morning. The Staff was consistently attentive & very courteous. Thank you!
Nice view of the marina. Food was good. They carry my favorite bourbon, which is hard to find, so that made the event for me.
Food cold. Missed starters. Poor service.
Sat outside on the fire pit and watched the boats float by. Always great food on the marina at SALT.
So the view is great - staff were good at turning on patio heaters or providing blankets if cold.
Service while the usual “American smiley friendly” was not as attentive as it could have been with a few things not delivered right-first-time.
Overall a lovely place with lovely food and drink
This was our second visit to Salt. In both instances we stopped in for drinks/dinner after SUP paddling in the Harbor. This is one of the best spots to watch the sunset and grab a drink in LA! Food is always amazing and the staff is very friendly. The patio fills up quickly in the evening, so book in advance!
