Excellent food, excellent service and amazing atmosphere in the deck overlooking the Marina.
We experienced Wonderful view and excellent food and service
One of our favorite, special occasions, dinning restaurant.
Had 7:30pm outdoor dinning, but 10 minutes after, sitting, the wind picked up. Requested to move inside, no problem, our waiter, accommodated.
Wonderful evening, great meal.
Wonderful food and amazing setting!!!
Amazing, quiet early evening meal. My husband and I split the country bread, Caesar salad and salmon along with a few glasses of Pinot Noir. Food is excellent! We watched the last of a red sunset and after dark, the ambience is magical. Heater and fire pits warmed the night air.
Service was slow. Food is okay. Came here mostly for the view. Plus, they added a lot of service surcharge without tell us and we added tip on top. More than 40% of our bill was not food or drinks.
Overall awful experience.. Freezing cold in there our server took forever to come over and the food was inedible so sad
It was ok. Windy with the doors open. Tables and chairs don’t work if your 6 foot 4.
We had a pleasent late lunch outdoors and enjoyed the fall sun and the space heater. Service was great and the food was good too.
WE GOT THERE AND NO ONE WAS AT THE DESK. WHEN SEATED THE ROOM WAS VERY DRAFTY AS THE DOOR KEPT OPENING. RATHER COOL EVENING. HOWEVER WHAT SAVED IT WAS WE FINALLY WENT OUTSIDE AND AFTER SOME ARM TWISTING WAS PROVIDED A HEATER AND SEAT NEAR THE FIRE PITS. THAT WAS LOVELY AND COMFORTABLE! BUT NOT WITHOUT A FIGHT.
THE FOOD WAS MEDIOCRE AND SELECTION WAS DISAPPOINTING. THE PRESENTATION OF AN 8 OZ FILET WAS A SLAB OF BEEF ON A WHITE PLATE/NO GARNISH JUST BORING. THEN THE FRITES WERE DELIVERED IN A BOWL!
OLD FASHIONED WAS OK BUT ABOUT $5 OVERPRICED. ALL IN ALL DISAPPOINTING FOR A SPECIAL OCCASION. RESTAURANT IF YOU ARE FORCED TO EAT INSIDE HAS ZERO AMBIANCE. NEVER WROTE A REVIEW THIS UNSATISFATORY.
Sadly, this is one of the sweetest hotels and the food is great..... but it is sooooo damn loud that the noise level just ruins everything. We got married at this hotel and we would eat here often but if you have to sit inside... forget about it. It is so loud you can't even hear your dinner partner. So unpleasant. We can't go back until we can eat outside again. And even then... so disappointing.
The food is always exceptional and the water view is enjoyable!!!
The staff and food were great. While the outside tables looked nice, the decor and tables inside were pretty stale. Mixed crowd on a weekend: (tourists, locals, date night couples...).
Food service very slow. Our party got hungry waiting for the entrees… which were excellent.
The service was substandard. We had to ask three times for them to turn on the outdoor heater before they finally got around to doing this. The bar is pitiful. We ordered martinis and got gin with lemon My friend ordered an Irish coffee and it was served in a wine glass. I ordered a cognac and it was served in a whisky glass.
Great fish tacos and the avocado hummus is always a fave. We were served in the bar area during a weekday lunch :) Great service, fun lunch.
The food and drinks are actually really good at SALT, but we did not have a good experience this time and will not be coming back. I don't know if this is a staffing issue, but our server was MIA. We asked for a menu so we could order a second round of drinks for our celebration, but she never came back and it was freezing so we gave up and got the check. It was disappointing that most of their heaters were broken because the outdoor area is very cold when it is in the shade. The server offered us blankets, but I am suspect of how often those get cleaned so declined. It was a miserable $100 brunch for 2, not worth it.
We opted for outside seating and we’re not disappointed. I had been cloudy but the sun came out! Yeah!
Very quiet beautiful view of the Marina.
Food was wonderful and so was the service.
Cozy and nice views. Excellent service. Limited food selection but delicious.
Went there for a birthday lunch. We were seated outside but none of the heaters on the patio were working. They went through 3 different heaters and could not get them turned on.
I had the fish taco which the fish was over cooked. The pork belly eggs Benedict was mostly fat. The burnt cheesecake tasted burnt…
A floral arrangement which was a gift was accidentally left on the table and when we went back to get it within 30 min, it disappeared. No one knew where it went. There were no other patrons seated, so I assume that a worker must’ve taken it. This is extremely disappointing.
The view is lovely at the Marina, but other than the view, there is nothing else that would bring me back to this place. It was such a big disappointment.
Food was great. We shared an appetizer & entree and the server said the chef couldn’t split it onto 2 plates. It was a bit messy for us to do it at the table.
Have eaten there three times. Outside ambience better than inside. Dishes are well prepared but not spectacular, portions adequate but not outstanding. At our latest meal, a brunch, shrimp and grits were OK but not sumptuous, breakfast burrito boring. We have fared better at dinners overlooking the Marina.
It was really great and we really enjoyed our experience and food.
The patio is beautiful, complete with fireplaces and heat lamps for the cooler times.
The service in the bar and for dinner was exceptional!
We had the fillet minion, asparagus and whipped potatoes (I could’ve licked the bowl) it was all very good.
Reception, bar, server all very pleasant however because of a large noisy bar group inside and given the day and age of Covid I decided to sit outside. The lighting was bad to non-existent. We literally could not see what we had ordered and finally gave up and left. Light, any light, would have been nice!
We had a problem when we were taken to the table. We made reservations for a party of 3 and they had a table of for two set with an additional placemat. The table was also located really close to a fire pit like it had just been added to add extra tables. When asked to please have a better location and a large enough table for 3. The hostess was very rude. Ultimately we had to ask for Dennis the manager and were seated at a larger more comfortable table.
Came for a birthday and dine La and it was a horrible experience. Ordered 3 different things to find they had ran out of it. Ordered soup which was cold and a salad add chicken. Chicken was lukewarm and so dry. Said they would give us a complimentary appetizer since we had ordered food that they ran out of at 7pm on Tuesday night and it was not busy at all. when we got the bill it was still on. We had also put in our nights we were celebrating and birthday and nothing. For over 400 with added gratitude. I will never be back or recommend this place. Everything was cold/lukewarm, service fell flat, and the price for crap, and mention of a birthday. No thanks!
The host was not helpful. She was clearly distracted and was not paying attention to the order. She didn't bring the correct order for the appetizer. When we asked for a refill of the drinks, she brought the wrong drinks. At the end, we had to mention 3 times that we ordered cappuccino for her to bring it.
The server got my drink order wrong. Then the poached eggs came out fully cooked so I sent them back. A manager didn’t come to check on us after sending back 2 items.
Their breakfast burrito was REALLY GOOD. The server was nice enough but the restaurant is at the bottom of the hotel so I think she expected us to “charge to the room” but we weren’t staying there so we had to get up and go find her to pay.
All that and it was $70 for just the two of us. Kind of pricey for what we got.
The food was thoughtfully prepared, but I felt it was overpriced. Not too surprising for a hotel restaurant on the water. The view was absolutely stunning.
I think they are short staffed as many restaurants are due to Covid, so the service could use some improvement.
The bone marrow was amazing though!
Waiter was kind but slow to return to table. So slow between courses and drinks. Lunch took nearly an hour and a half. 1 person. Also hostess put me in direct sun stating all tables in the shape were reserved but at least 5 tables in shade sat empty the whole time! I’d expect more from a place like this.
Great lunch, beautiful view, excellent service from Diana. Wonderful.
The only reservation time that was available was 8:45. Once we ordered drinks the waiter asked us for our order. We wanted to start with some appetizers and go from there. He then told us the kitchen is closing soon and the chef likes to have the orders taken. The restaurant was packed so I felt really rushed for no reason. The food was mediocre. The charcuterie board was basic, the bone marrow was horrible, and the filet was not hot it was barley warm. We didn’t even stay for dessert. The patio was pretty but not worth the $300 we ended up spending. We should have at least bit felt rushed for the amount we spent.
Lobster toast excellent. It is a generous portion and can serve as a stand alone meal.
Start with the good. Great view of the harbor in the Marina and the food was good. The not so good. Our service was nice, but very inattentive. She never checked on us after serving us, and we had to flag her down several times to ask about things we needed (like the check, at the end). Also, it's really expensive, which is often the case with restaurants in nice hotels, but that food was just good -- not great -- and, for the omelette, at least, they charged us $28 for a "custom" omelette with mushrooms, spinach (they basically charged us for $19 french omelette and didn't allow us to sub any ingredients). And that didn't include any bread. Note for expensive restaurants: offer awesome food; include standard extras for bfast (like bread!); and/OR give people some flexibility with ingredients without simply doing an upcharge.
Good and service was good. Hotel is old and needs a lot of work.
Great ambiance. Excellent food and service.
I always love the French rolled Omelette. The hamburger was okay and the chocolate mousse was disappointing. My guest and I prefer a dark chocolate and this was very light and sweet.
I love SALT for its position on the Marina, its casualness and sense of being on vacation. Food is pretty good as is the selection of beers and liquors. Wine list could be better but is adequate. Bar staff are excellent.
I'm heading back tonight!
