I really wish that the food at the Salt Restaurant matched the ambiance. It is such an awesome view and vibe overlooking the marina. I got the fried chicken sandwich and it wasn't great. My brunch mates had the Cobb salad and were much happier. Had it not been for Covid and limited patio options, I would not have chosen to celebrate my 50th birthday at Salt because the food just isn't good enough for a major holiday / family gathering / life event.
I went here for a birthday brunch with two small children the kids loved the food the mimosas were strong, and the service was amazing. I will definitely recommend and come back
It was just ok. Super limited menu. They were out of items. Food was just ok. Server was not trained very well - Didn’t know how to describe food. Ambiance was abysmal. I get that restaurants are just trying to do their best during this challenging time but usually their outdoor space was pretty and had the fire pits etc... which is one of the reasons why we went there but we were stuck in a corner next to the tent. I usually take guests from out of town because it’s usually great but maybe just not until pandemic is over.
This is one of the most beautiful places to have breakfast or dinner in LA. Amazing water views create the perfect ambiance.
Great food and cocktails. Best view of the Marina.
Overpriced and not very well prepared. Sent food back as it was nearly cold.
Perfect place to meet your boss or impress a date. Great menu, fabulous food, super service, and the best view in the marina.
The food was outstanding, our server was fabulous, and you can't beat the views. Also, love that there is free, self-parking.
The hostess was very accommodating to my partner and I, allowing us to sit at a specific table, we just had to wait a few minutes for them to clean it. The service, food, and ambience was overall the best I’ve had at any restaurant. The heaters/fire pits help keep us warm and added to the overall ambience. Even though my reservation was later, I do recommend getting a table around sunset, I can just imagine the view would be breathtaking. Next time I am in the area, I will have to come for brunch.
Such a beautiful place with great food and cocktails
Nice Ambience, Beautiful scenery, Good Food, Great service
Amazeballs. Do yourself a favor and get the Shrimp & Grits and add a side of apple wood bacon to dip in the shallot cream. Creme brulee had the flakiest, sugar glaze I've ever seen.
The customer service was awful. The servers and the manager all had very bad attitude. The way you and hotel was very beautiful. It was our first time there it was my birthday but I had the worst experience there.
Loved visiting salt! The food was so good. It was a relaxing and nice environment. They also followed covid guidelines. Can’t wait to go back!
All was well and food was delicious. Servers seemed to be a bit stretched but were attentive as a group. Drink amounts were small which is where I would say that the value may have been lost a bit. But the brisket Soppy Joe was amazing!
Location is amazing and so were drinks, but food was expensive and tasteless.
I have visited Salt often in the past. We found the current menu rather limited and underwhelming. The food and service were still very good but hopefully, they will expand the menu in the near future.
Very Nice, amazing food
My cousin was In town for some grad interviewed and I wanted to treat him to dinner. The scenery was amazing as well as the vibe but the food was... eh. They have a limited menu, which is understandable because La just got word they could reopen for outdoor dining, so I get that. Just know the menu is very limited. We got two cocktails, crab dip (amaze balls), wings, Cesar salad with added shrimp, and Ghnocci (super small portion for $29). I don’t mind paying $$$$ but my goodness lol it’s def for a second heavy meal of a day not your first. Cute for photos but that’s it!
We went out for brunch which we haven't done during the Pandemic to stay safe. So it was very nice as SALT RESTAURANT BAR AND GRILL had the perfect outdoor dining setup making us feel very safe. There were heat lamps and glass fireplaces to keep the patio warm. It was perfect because it was a little chilly. The tables were 6 ft apart and the servers had on masks and face shields. Not to mention, they had laminated cards with a message that stated the table had been sanitized and to view the menu, you had to click the barcode on it with your phone in camera mode to see what they offer. This was another way we saw them trying to adher to patrons' safety.
We had a cheeseburger and fries as well as a grilled chicken cobb salad. I also had a HOT GURL SUMMER cocktail. I loved the burger and fries as well as the cocktail. The fries had skin on them which made them even better. And the burger was a double meat burger which we didn't expect. The toppings were perfect and the burger was seasoned well and juicy. It was prepared well which means the chef knew what he/she was doing to achieve a well done juicy burger. I would order it again.Lastly, the drink had Habanero Spice in it giving it a kick. I would recommend this place for brunch. Especially if you want to get out and feel safe.
The menu is extremely limited and expensive. Waste of time, money & calories
Great food! Ambiance at sunset beautiful! Great Valentine’s dinner
We had a great experience at Salt. Loved being outside overlooking the marina. The servers were excellent as was the food!! We will definitely come back!
Amazing food, amazing service and amazing views!
Post covid menu shrunk.
The food is tasty, the view from the deck is wonderful.
But the service wasn't so good. Here are the points:
- The menu doesn't tell you about the size of the dish - everything is in a single category. I ordered a grilled octopus for my lady and a tuna tartar for myself. The waiter asked if we're ordering an appetizer or an entree, my answer was - entree. Only when we got our plates - we understood that the tuna tartar and the grilled octopus are appetizers... So we had to order additional food;
- The drinks were served after the food;
- There were some plastic something in the food. The waiter just apologized: "we're sorry".
To summarize: The food is good, but you should be aware about the size of the dish
The staff did its best to mask it’s limited ambiance due to Covid.
Outdoor seating heated with fire pits and lamps made it cozy.
Filet was perfectly prepared
Salmon was moist and flaky
One of the best steaks I’ve ever had
Beautiful view and delicious food!
It’s a beautiful setting and the food was delicious - however the portions are extremely small for the price you’re paying for each dish. The service was fast and efficient but the servers attitude at the end when we asked to split the check 3 ways was a little huffy, which seemed unnecessary. Overall I still rate it 4/5 as the food was really very good.
Beautiful outdoor patio dining overlooking the marina. Heaters made it completely comfortable. Great food and service. Limited menu and wine list. Entree were quite expensive, but delicious, so I would recommend for a special occasion but perhaps not for everyday dining.
Waiter didn’t really seem to care about us after he realized we don’t drink, he rarely ever came back and seemed annoyed when would ask for recommendations or more water. The food was okay, not what it used to be. I ordered the octopus as a main and it was way too small, I had no idea it would be so ridiculously small and I was very disappointed that the waiter didn’t tell us that the portion would not be enough for me to feel like I ate something. Needless to say I probably won’t be coming back for dinner.
We went to Salt and were excited about the ambiance and food. However it was really not that nice. The table was stained, no cloth or anything on the table. Service was ok but cold. Menu was confusing about what was an appetizer
or an entree. It was expensive and really not that tasty. Overall, beautiful location but below average as far as food and experience.
Will definitely be back! Lovely service, great outdoor seating with fire pits. The water was lovely. Food was solid.
Always a fun time at salt. Super happy they are open during all this mess.
Picturesque spot and great dinner--can't wait to go back
Our server was lovely, engaging, and knowledgeable about the menu. The service was on point and the food delicious. Lovely view of the marina made our lunch fantastic. So sad that we don’t be able to come back for awhile due to Covid. Hoping the employees are safe and stay well.
Great location, good food and the service not so good!
Lovely place by the beach.
Pizza was not that great and not well cooked.
Wine selections are okay and service was good.
The ambiance, the atmosphere being safe with Covid19, the food and the service are all excellent! I’ll come back here over and over again!
The 32 oz ribeye we ordered medium rare came out close to well done, so we had to send it back. It took 30 min for a new one to come out. We got a complimentary dessert which was appreciated, but it would’ve been nice if they either took care of the steak or gave us half off.
