Visitors from UK are always impressed by the delicious food, attentive service and relaxed atmosphere. The steaks are a favorite. People of all ages feel welcome.

This is a very attractive restaurant, new and filled with warm colors, lots of wood and a fireplace.
Pretty. Excellent hostess the night we were there, though our waitress was only fair. It's a very National Corporate kind of restaurant; lots of menu choices, mostly decent but nothing stellar.
Thankfully, there is a full bar. Lots of free parking which is a treat for this L.A. gal.

We made reservations for seven o'clock on a Saturday. We arrived early and were greeted promptly. We decided to sit at the bar and have a drink before dinner. The bartender, Jackie, made us so comfortable that we decided to remain at the bar and have our dinner. The steaks were great and so were all the associates.

Pre -Mother's day and theater dinner. Excellent burgers, but the main room is the height of a basketball arena and while, visually pleasing, we had to shout to each other at the table. Perhaps the booths are better. Great service on a busy Saturday night and wish we had more time to linger and have dessert. Otherwise, great place for groups and good energy.
Get some baffles, the place is just too darn noisy.

I have had the chop dinner which is a double cut pork chop many times at the Salt Creek location in Rumsom NJ and have enjoyed it every time. This was our first experience with the location in Princeton, NJ. The chop was lukewarm and not up to the Rumson standard. We actually only went to Princeton because Rumson was booked up.

We were here for a cousins' reunion/birthday celebration. Everything was great-- good food, attentive, friendly service. Keep up the good work!!

Had a group of 6 post-meeting. Appetizers and Dinner were great. Had an issue with a steak, which they quickly offered and took off the check. 1/2 price wine by the glass (Wednesday) was great.

It is way too loud to have dinner there, lunch is ok. Big bar scene after work and you have to fight your way through to get to the outside at times. If eating dinner inside, you actually have to talk VERY loud for the person next to you to hear. Dinner food is just ok, nothing to write home about.

We celebrated my sister's birthday here on this occasion - and enjoyed delicious cocktails - the Gin Blossom was a wonderful spring treat - a martini with St. Germain's elderflower liquor and Tanqueray. A wonderful way to start the evening. Although the Ahi tuna started was a bit stringy (perhaps it was cut incorrectly) we overwhelmingly enjoyed our burgers and the phenomenal chocolate souffle as a special treat Salt Creek has the BEST burger in Princeton - for sure - so delicous - and our server, Heather, was superb. Attentive, knowledgable and funny.

Service was friendly and efficient. Menu had a lot of variety. Ahi burger was perfect as were garlic fries. Salmon dish was excellent and prepared gluten-free. Portions were generous. We will definitely come back. The restaurant had the efficiency and expertise of a (small) chain but the ambiance and charm of a personally managed unique restaurant

Been there for dinner before, but now it is definitely a nice lunch spot. Food was excellent. Brought customer's out for a thank you and was impressed. Can't wait to go back again.

We haven't dined here for awhile because the noise level can rival a high school cafeteria. This time we made an early 4:00 PM reservation and had a terrific dinner before crowds turned up. My husband's favorite is always been the their pork chop while I find their chicken always moist and tasty. They have added a kale salad an kale hash which didn't go over big with my husband. Yes, its a "super food" but no matter how its prepared, its still tastes like cellophane (not just here but everywhere he's had it). However, the entrée was delicious, the wine was great, the service was terrific and it was nice and quiet--a great dinner.

Salt Creek's prices, thanks to its "all day menu" are close to insane, at least for lunch. Service is spotty; sometimes attentive and oft-times forgetful. Bread is not served, unless requested. All that said, the food isn't bad and is sometimes better than that. Strongly recommend a separate lunch menu or lunch specials

This is such a great place to either have friends or loved ones and you can hear each other. The food is always fabulous and great place for foodies. The ambiance is perfect for business, personal or entertaining.

First, made same day reservation, only 5:15pm was open so we took it. Got there, place was almost empty,same when we left at 6:45pm. Why would they block all the other times? Then, menu has changed,many items removed. Waitress said they changed to an all day menu. We also waited almost 15 minutes for the waitress to even come to our table initially. Wait for food was also long considering place was 1/4 full at best, many, many empty tables, and at 6pm on a Saturday night? Something is wrong with that.
Looks like someone has taken what was a really nice place and ruined it. Everyone knows once the menu shortens and the place is empty on a Saturday night there's something wrong, It's too bad, we really liked this place but it's our last time, would never go back now. RIP SCG, I'll expect this place will close soon :-(

We arrived at the restaurant and was greeted very warmly by the host and hostess. The wait staff was most attentive to our needs. The Valentine's menu was perfect. We had the calamari, salad and soup and the entrees were very good. We topped off the meal with the chocolate desert which was heavenly. I highly recommend this restaurant.

I had read excellent reviews and decided to give the Salt Creek Grill a try. We usually try to eat at independent restaurants. The food was okay but it really wasn't anything more than a pricey chain restaurant. Save your money and just go to Applebee's

I first found Salt Creek in the early 2000's in Red Bank NJ, it was a fantastic find and I loved going there. I now live in the Princeton area and have visited the Salt Creek Grill many times here on route 1, this past visit finally made me make my mind up to never go back. The restaurant bar was crowded at 8:30 on a Saturday night with a band playing and a lounge singer strutting around in a "Mad Hatter" outfit wailing out songs in a noise filled environment. I was happy that we were seated in the main body of the restaurant where we had a nice booth, but this is where my happiness ended. The noise level in the restaurant was so loud that during our entire meal I could only converse with my wife who sat right next to me. The evening conversation with our guests was non existent. We ordered appetizers which came to the table in dribs and drabs but they were good, when our main order came both my wife's and my steaks were well over cooked. As the food was brought out by food runners it took some time for our server to circle back and take the plates back to be re-cooked. She apologized and took action but we never were visited by a manager to say sorry or to see how we were. Needles to say our guests started eating as we waited 20 minutes to get the recooked steaks delivered, it was at this point that the manager showed up to say sorry and then ran off to do something more important. My guests had to watch and wait as we ate our dinners in haste, needless to say we did not have a good experience. The meal came to over 200 dollars you can see why I was disappointed. What Salt Creek Grill once had they no longer have, they are just a overpriced under performing chain, and it saddens me to say that they are mediocre at best!

The pear in my salad was not ripe. The manager stopped by the table to check on our meal. When I explained everything was great except the pear, he apologized, thanked me for letting him know, and took the salad off of the bill. I was not aware he did this until I received the check. That w was very nice of him.

We had a later reservation so the restaurant was about half full. My wife had the Mahi-Mahi which was excellent and i had the salmon which was also very good. Our waitress Lori was attentive and very accomodating. Overall a very enjoyable experience.

Recommended by a friend as an Appleby’s or TGIF plus, I stopped in for an early dinner. The food was good as far as a chain restaurant is concerned. I tried the black bean soup and the roasted chicken; 3 to 3 ½ stars. Since it was a Monday evening, the half-priced bottle of wine was very nice, so I think the wine list is noteworthy.
