Salt at The Ritz-Carlton Ratings and Reviews
Service and food were outstanding. It was our second time there. The noise, however, was louder than any of the high end restaurants I've ever been too. I could barely hear my wife and she was sitting right beside me. Very annoying. Not sure if it was the acoustics of the room or the large party of folks they had in there.
Excellent food. We tried the Salmon and the Snapper. Everything on each plate worked beautifully.
Did not know that The Ritz Carlton has paired with the Rothchilds to come out with their own champagne. It is pricey, but absolutely delicious!!!!
We could not resist the dark chocolate souffle, even though we often skip dessert. It was also excellent.
Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Nice live music. The tuna tartare is the best out side of Japan. The carrot cake has to be the best in the world. Service was great. The only glitch was having to settle for Courvoisier rather than Harvey’s Bristol Cream for an after dinner drink. (Harvey’s is hard to find on Amelia Island).
Fantastic experience for my Birthday! For our appetizer we had the roasted root salad and yellowfin tuna. Both amazing and quite flavorful. My husband had the Bison tenderloin and I had the Alaskan halibut. Both were very good but I think I had the winner! Excellent wine selection. You can never go wrong with Stag's Leap! SALT is truly a unique experience as you are able to sample 4 of their most popular salts. Highly recommend to any foodie! Great service too!
SALT was an unbelievable dining experience. They made a birthday celebration truly into something special. Even if you took all of the "special touches" away, you would still be left with a fantastic menu, and a staff that is A+, top-drawer from beginning to end. We must have interacted with at least 10 different members of the front of house team and each was as knowledgeable, kind and attentive as the last. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area for a special celebration and a memorable meal.
Salt is truly amazing! It should be the reason you visit the Ritz Carlton, Amelia Island! It is hard to put into words just how delicious the food is! I had a tuna appetizer and the elk entree, plus we shared the dark chocolate souffle and goat cheese souffle. We were able to try several different salts. The different breads were also delicious. Our server, Patty, took us on a kitchen tour. We wish we had known we could do a private kitchen meal. Next time we will do the tasting menu. We loved Salt and see why it is rated so high!
Primary disappointment was due to the service. I️t took nearly 30 min from the time we were seated before we saw the waitress and that was only because we finally asked. This unacceptable anywhere let alone a five diamond restaurant. We were offered complimentary drinks but the long delays persisted until we got our meals. As a result I left feeling like I paid too much for the experience and probably won’t ever return.
A five star restaurant in every sense. An ocean view with wonderful food. All at a five star price. But this restaurant is worth it. We both had fillet and lobster. They shelled it in the kitchen (at our request). Both were perfectly cooked. Desert was 3 small souffles.....each a different flavor. The service was excellent......there when we needed them, and otherwise they didn't bother us. The signature is un-salted butter with the rolls........with an assortment of flavored (imported) salts to go on the rolls. I have never run into that before. I will go back.
My husband and I have been to Amelia Island three times and each time we have made a point of dining at Salt because of the superb culinary experience. Each time has been a complete delight!
The food is spectacular both from the standpoints of ingredients and presentation. What a treat!
Service is so genuinely caring. Atmosphere is beautiful. Really a sweet time.
Innovative and creative.
We saved the best till last on a five day stay on Amelia Island! The food at Salt was innovative and perhaps a little experimental with some great unexpected flavors. Delicious in-house bread came with hand churned, unsalted butter and a selection of flavored salts
as befitting the restaurant’s name. The fabulously velvety chilled white asparagus soup was gorgeously surrounded by a generous amount of lobster and shaved asparagus, and I would have ordered the salmon entree just to have the unctuous leek bread pudding! The snapper had a tantalizing yet undefinable Asian spin, and both fish dishes were perfectly moistly cooked, but the highlight of our evening was the trio of soufflés - justifiably a house speciality.
The service was professional and knowledgeable without being overpowering. A delightful touch was the gift of a box of our favorite salt (In this case jalapeño)! A delightful end to a few days on Amelia Island.
Dined at Salt on our second evening on Amelia Island. Ate at another resort restaurant the evening before after being advised that it was best on the Island. Oh my was that advise wrong. The experience at Salt was everything you would expect at a Ritz property. Beginning with the valet greeting us by name, the entire evening was fabulous. Food and service were exceptional. Overall the evening exceeded our expectation !!
When you can make grits a reason to come back, you know you have an amazing chef. Combine that with interesting salads, perfectly done meats and deserts you can't say no to despite being full, and you know you've found a special place. Thanks for a great night.
This is an amazing restaurant with an extremely talented chef and staff. Yes, one is paying top dollar but it is worth every cent for the knowledge, service and attention that each course presents. "Salt" translates into one of the best fine dining experiences on Amelia Island.
We have eaten here many times over the years. Never fails. Exquisite dining experience EVERY time. We have eaten at the private kitchen table several times as well. Awesome. Highly recommend it. Chef Rick and his staff go above and beyond on each and every visit. Looking forward to our next trip.
Salt was an incredible dining experience. The staff is so friendly and make you feel so special. I highly recommend the root vegetable salad, and the GOAT CHEESE SOUFFLEE! Oh my goodness I would go back just for that soufflee! The salt pairings are a special treat as well. We will go back for another special occasion for sure!
