Salt at The Ritz-Carlton Ratings and Reviews
The service was superb from the moment we got to the hotel & the valet informed the concierge of our arrival so they greeted us by name & a happy birthday greeting to my wife. We did the Chef’s choice with pairing & the service from every person who served us was as perfect as is possible to be. The selection of food by the Chef was superb as was the pairing with all 4 courses.
Another perfect, memorable dining experience at Salt.
Given the name, ALL food was salty
Steaks were over cooked
Salt arrived 10 min after bread - and bread had cooled. Bread server refused to bring said salt - twice.
No wine offered
Desserts were brought - no plates
Plates for dessert were brought and left as a stack on the table.
Check was delivered - then asked of we would like coffee - after dessert
After check was paid, all service stopped as we sat for another 30 minutes.
There were 6 tables of guests during our meal.
I expect a 5-star, 5-Diamond restaurant to be flawless. We had a fantastic meal, but our server made a few very noticeable mistakes that drop our overall review to a 4.5. He actually forgot the Salt that goes with the butter (1/1/18), how is that possible was a little slow on some items. That said, the Georgia football game was going on next door in the cool upscale sports bar (Rose Bowl), so we did get up a few times and probably messed up their coursing. Dinner for 4 was $800 with drinks and tip. We found the unique foods (including the steak cooked at the table on a 200,000 million-year-old salt rock) really cool. Don't go here if you are on a budget! But it's a great meal and restaurant!
We enjoyed our dinner at Salt. We started with the key west prawns which were very good. My wife ordered the beef tenderloin and I had the prime bone-in ribeye. Both were excellent. For sides definitely recommend the quinoa risotta. For dessert we shared the mini souffle trio which again was excellent. Overall the food was great and the service was fine but just thought it a little subpar for a 5 diamond restaurant where dinner for 2 was $400 all in.
The restaurant served only set courses for their Christmas day evening meal, but did not inform the public in their advertising that there was no ordering from the standard menu. We do not eat desserts, but had to pay for one anyway. Some of the vegetables were overdone and not seasoned well. For the exorbitant prices they charged for a holiday dinner, we expected better quality food and cooking. I will admit that the butternut squash soup was fantastic.
The Christmas Day dinner tasted fabulous but was marred by such poor service that I wouldn’t go back, given that it was our most expensive meal of 2017 and we didn’t even order wine. Our service was great until 15 minutes into the evening, then our waiter disappeared. I mean literally. He showed up embarrassed enough to give me a free glass of Ice Wine, then gone again. Never apologized. Our entree came 40 minutes after our soup. Dessert, which was over-the-top delicious, came 20 minutes after that had been consumed. Same story with getting the bill. Unacceptable for a $400 dinner for two off a prix fixe menu with only two options per course.
From the minute we walked into the door the experience was exceptional. Our server Olga was extraordinary, catering to our every need. The chef visited our table and has a charming personality This dining experience is above all and not to be missed if your anywhere near Amelia Island.
Second time at salt . Too bad the service was lacking this time. Waited over 10 minutes before someone reminded our waiter to take our drink order. Yes I saw someone tell him we were sitting there waiting.
Not the restaurants fault but I wish they could have done som3thing about the one family that decided it was ok to let two of their children run around the restaurant while the parents ate.
Service and food were outstanding. It was our second time there. The noise, however, was louder than any of the high end restaurants I've ever been too. I could barely hear my wife and she was sitting right beside me. Very annoying. Not sure if it was the acoustics of the room or the large party of folks they had in there.
Excellent food. We tried the Salmon and the Snapper. Everything on each plate worked beautifully.
Did not know that The Ritz Carlton has paired with the Rothchilds to come out with their own champagne. It is pricey, but absolutely delicious!!!!
We could not resist the dark chocolate souffle, even though we often skip dessert. It was also excellent.
Thanksgiving dinner was excellent. Nice live music. The tuna tartare is the best out side of Japan. The carrot cake has to be the best in the world. Service was great. The only glitch was having to settle for Courvoisier rather than Harvey’s Bristol Cream for an after dinner drink. (Harvey’s is hard to find on Amelia Island).
Fantastic experience for my Birthday! For our appetizer we had the roasted root salad and yellowfin tuna. Both amazing and quite flavorful. My husband had the Bison tenderloin and I had the Alaskan halibut. Both were very good but I think I had the winner! Excellent wine selection. You can never go wrong with Stag's Leap! SALT is truly a unique experience as you are able to sample 4 of their most popular salts. Highly recommend to any foodie! Great service too!
SALT was an unbelievable dining experience. They made a birthday celebration truly into something special. Even if you took all of the "special touches" away, you would still be left with a fantastic menu, and a staff that is A+, top-drawer from beginning to end. We must have interacted with at least 10 different members of the front of house team and each was as knowledgeable, kind and attentive as the last. I would highly recommend to anyone in the area for a special celebration and a memorable meal.
