Salsa grill is great, big portions and delicious
I've not been to Salsa Grill in many years, at least ten. The proportions are huge - maybe too much. The rice dishes contained too much rice. The chicken tamales contained little chicken. These were my favorite ten years ago, now a disappointment. The yellow curry sauce had a distinct taste, it was disappointing to me because I was expecting the aji pepper sauce that is associated with Peruvian food, which has more of a kick. The stuffed grilled potato was very flavorful. My companions enjoyed the spinach empanada, but thought it too big. The staff was attentive and friendly.
Jay, Carlos and their staff at the Salsa Grill are amazing! The food is consistently outstanding and the service is great too! A real gem.
Jay is a wonderful host with great food choices.
Overall, very tasty food, big portions, excellent value for money. Great owner/host. A group of us went and shared appetizers and entrees. As it turned out each persons top picks were different so four stars. You will want to BYOB. Liquor store just 40 yards away.
Over price menu, the next 4 out the guess where sick with diarrea. Not good!
We went to Salsa Grill Saturday evening for my birthday! The food was amazing like always . Jay the owner always makes you feel so Welcome . My husband loves there steak subs, and my daughter loves the paella . The dessert's are homemade and outstanding. Love this place one of my favorites.
From the front of the storefront, this doesn't look like much of an establishment. But going inside past the counter, there is a nice dining area. The food was very good with large portions. We could have just shared one entree with an appetizer and had plenty to eat.
Great food, huge portions. Easily two lunches worth of leftovers from dinner, and still it's good food.
This is an excellent Peruvian restaurant in Woodlawn, MD. Not much to look at from the outside, but the food is incredibly good. The owner is usually there to say a few words to you. Portions are huge, as are desserts. My favorite: their Aji de Gallina.
Cooked to order with farm fresh ingredients. Excellent genuine taste! Yum!
The food is very very good. Service was good. Will definitely be going back.
another outstanding meal. I have never been disappointed with any thing that has been served here.
The food is absolutely the best! Beautiful artwork that is for sale and Jay, the owner, is great! He uses the freshest ingredients and hand picks them himself. Last time I went I got a dish with filet mignon that was spot on perfect and so tender you didn’t even need a knife! We had a party of 5 and the bill was $130–definitely a good deal. No alcohol but you can bring in whatever you want to drink and they will accommodate you. I have always been pleased with the food and the portions are huge! My meal took 3 plates! You cannot go wrong eating here.
Great spot, surprising in a shopping center, not fancy. Excellent food, generous portions, and accommodating staff.
Best salsa anywhere. BYOB - a bonus.
Always a great meal. Fresh ingredients used and consistently delicious. Crabcakes are great!
The food is always amazing with very generous portions!
We love it there ! My family likes everything ! Everyone makes you feel so welcome
I went with co workers and we thought the food was good and also we were given several desert samples. The owner was constantly coming out to see if we were happy/comfortable. I would definitely go back.
Best food love it there ! Jay the owner is warm and welcoming . The food is excellent
It was very good ! The staff is so warm and friendly . The food is quick and delicious .
The food was EXCELLENT, and the portion sizes...let's just say your plate will runneth over! I will be visiting Salsa Grill again in the near future!
We have been coming to Salsa Grill for years and just love it. The food is always outstanding and the portion sizes are very large. When we bring new people there, they always like it. Jay, the owner is wonderful and visits every table when he is in. Besides the quality and variety of food, we especially like that the restaurant is BYOB!
One could see how this restaurant could be overlooked in the strip shopping center, but I am so glad a friend suggested it. I was there on a week day with coworkers for a casual lunch. The menu had something for everyone, with great selections at different price points. The service was outstanding. Our server was attentive without being annoying, and our meals came out together in a timely manner. The food was delicious and the portions generous. All in all, I can't think of a thing to complain about. If you're in the neighborhood, I definitely recommend you drop in.
one of my favorite local restaurants but much more. This is the place I take friends who want a really great meal, service, something different. They are great caterers and the BEST cheesecake.
Salsa Grille has to be one of the best restaurants in the state. The owners take pride in their meals. The ceasar salad is the greatest start to a dining experience. The strip steak was fork tender, and the arroz con pollo was soooo good. but save room for dessert. between the strawberry shortcake and the crème brulle it is impossible to choose which is best. Do not be deceived by the front door. You cannot judge a book by it's cover. By this I mean you have no idea how first class the food is until it makes it way to your tongue. Hats off to Carlos and Jay.
I love Salsa Grill.....the food is always good, the portions are exceptional. The staff is friendly and most attentive. The best cream of crab soup ever....
I had my 53rd birthday dinner here on Saturday, March 25th.....it was over 20 people and they all said the food was so delicious....
I recommended Salsa Grill....you will never be disappointed.
Really terrific dining experience. One can tell immediately they derive great joy in seeing patrons enjoy their delicious food. Best creme brûlée!
Never a bad meal at Salsa Grill. We've been regulars for over 20 years and it's where our family likes celebrating happy events. The place ain't fancy, but oh, the food... Best cream of crab soup in Maryland and probably the planet! We had variations on paella, Caesar salad, crab cakes, and fish. I always get the tapas sampler as my meal and it's good for two more days of leftovers. You will never leave Salsa Grill empty-handed. The portions are huge, so don't let the prices scare you. Jay and team, another WOW experience!
The Salchi Papa is delicious!! And the chicken quesadillas we're good had plenty off chicken and cheese unlike other places you go to
A small place in a strip mall. AWESOME, fresh food and large quantities. Owner (Jay) is great and very informative. So glad we found this restaurant!! Have been 3 times and will continue going there.
All staffs are friendly, and the foods are great!!!
It's hard to find a restaurant that can accommodate a large group, especially on a Monday (so many restaurants are closed). Salsa Grill never disappoints. We've been eating there since Jay started it up over 20 years ago. We joke that our kids grew up there! Jay has graciously welcomed our daughter and her boyfriend as regulars now too. Our meals were at the usual level of excellence. The only negative was a lack of attention to things like empty water glasses. But that's not enough to keep us away in the future!
The food was good. The service was ok not fantastic but not great; appropriate for the location. There weee two minor issues that occurred that annoyed the table of 7. First, we were only given one bowl of chips and salsa for 7 people which was annoying because the rule is one bowl per table regardless of the number of people. Second, there were three plates of food that sat under the heat lamp for upwards of 10 minutes while the remaining items were made. That would not been a huge deal if we had not been sat in front of the kitchen.
What a fantastic evening we had at the Salsa Grill. Jay, the owner, and his staff warmly welcomed us. We were a party of 12. They graciously started us off with several Tortilla baskets with Salsa – fresh, crisp tortilla with a delicious salsa. Carlo, our main server, and his staff were amazing – they managed to keep all of our dinner orders straight. We enjoyed the following: Cream of Crab soup (beyond decadent – expensive but worth it), Carne Asada, Chicken Curry Wrap, Chicken Caesar Wrap, Grilled Salmon, Gulf Fried Shrimp Platter, 3 Paellas, Beef and Vegetable Empanadas, Roasted Chicken, Chicken Parmesan pasta, and Escabeche de Corvina. We really had an around the world tasting of foods. Everyone was thrilled and raved about their dinners. What was really nice was that the restaurant was quiet, and we could carry on conversations. Jay ended our evening with something sweet – a Baklava – just perfect. BYOB with no corkage fee is always a plus for our group. Thank you so much for a great dining experience. We definitely will be back.
Great for sampling their food selections. This was a music introductory event and we will return to taste further menu items.
Service was great and very personal. I was with a big group so not sure if he is The manager or probaly the owner but he walked around all tables helping out and offering more options including for those interested a taste of their really spicy sauce.
Great food great service. Will go again.
We met a friend for dinner at the Salsa Grill. Jay and Carlo came thru as always. They are so welcoming. We really appreciate a restaurant that is quiet enough to have good conversation. We had to have the Cream of Crab soup – pricey, but so worth it – they only use jumbo lump crab – make sure to bring some sherry with you – it finishes the soup perfectly. My husband had the Shrimp and Scallop Alfredo with penne pasta – a scrumptious dish. I enjoyed the Chicken curry wrap filled with chicken, Spanish rice, stuffed potatoes, olives and eggs – an enormous wrap. Our friend went for the Cheesesteak sub with onion rings. The one thing you can say about the Salsa Grill is that their portions are very generous, which means you have leftovers for the next day. Carlo and the rest of the staff took excellent care of us – so attentive. I was amazed at one of the specials that the lady at the next table ordered – a fried hard crab – it was so big – looked to be lightly battered with a crab cake inside. I wondered how you ate it; she explained that you eat just like a regular hard crab. She said it was delicious.
The food was good, but our server forgot about us. I had to keep going up to the cashier to ask for things.
