Fantastic service and food. This was my third time at Saloon and I have never been disappointed. This is Philly’s best kept secret!
Took three of my Brooklynite friends for a South Philly lunch experience. They all loved it - the food, the decor/ ambiance, the service, the neighborhood. All want to go again, might even bring wives next time.
It was a late Valentine’s Day dinner. Arrived before reservation to start with a drink. Host was so nice and seated us within 10 minutes. Still earlier than our reservation.
I got the surf and turf special is it was AMAZING. Staff makes you feel special and food has always been perfect.
The spinach salad was very unique, I really enjoyed it! We all loved the atmosphere and the neighborhood feeling.
We made a last minute reservation and it turned out to be fabulous. Incredible food and great service at a nice corner table upstairs. Top notch experience overall
Beautiful place. Great service. Food was good but overpriced. Most menu items sounded alike.
My girlfriend and I went for dinner on Valentine’s Day. Tables were full, but it was not extremely crowded. I liked that lots of room was left between tables (they could have easily crammed a few more in) and it was not loud. The food was delicious and reasonably priced. They had many specials, which all sounded good. I ended up spending more than I planned because I chose a veal porterhouse from the special and didn’t ask the price. Drinks were not that expensive either. Staff was attentive, professional and friendly with the exception of a young man who bussed the table in between servings rather abruptly.
I had not been to Saloon in years. I viewed it as a dinosaur of a place - with dark paneled walls and very formal waiters and hosts dressed in suits. While it does have an old fashioned feel to it, It also represents such a welcome contrast to the largely informal dining now in south Philly. The food was outstanding. There were so many specials- all of which sounded so good that it was very difficult to choose. We thoroughly enjoyed our meal and loved the old time South Philly ambiance too. I hope it never changes!
Beautiful place. Great spot for romantic evening. Outstanding food. It could use a little more variety on the menu especially in the appetizers, and mains.
Amazing food, beautiful atmosphere and attentive friendly service. Could not ask for more!
One our guests was gluten free. She was disappointed there were no dessert option for her. Otherwise it was fantastic!
Great dinner I will certainly be back and become a regular every time I’m in Philadelphia. I would recommend this restaurant to anyone.
Splendid birthday celebration! Exceptional food, grand decor and impressive service (Gianna was remarkable). We all enjoyed our dining experience from cocktails thru dessert.
The Saloon never disappoints! Excellent, old world Italian dishes and continental cuisine. Varied menu... something for all tastes. Fresh fish, steaks, pastas and more. I had the Lobster Francaise. Yum.... Yum. Hannah was our server that evening. What a great job!! Many thanks! We'll be back, soon!
Very accommodating. Quick and friendly service. They have Parking! Deserts are a must! Many specials.
It was our first time at Saloon and we picked it based on Open Table ranking. Beautiful woodwork throughout and authentic Philly decor. Delicious Italian food-simple cuisine which I like. Live music in the second floor bar (Sat. night) which was a nice spot to enjoy an after dinner drink. We will be back when looking for a spot in the city.
Good food great service great ambiance
