Dinner: Monday - Thursday: 5:00pm - 10:00pm, Friday - Saturday: 5:00pm - 11:00pm
Have been to the Saloon many times. The Langoustines were under cooked slightly, but I never complain. Service was slower than usual. Not a lot of attentive service as normal. For 5 people and $650 I expect much better service. Disappointed, but I will be back. Its a cool place. Off night I am hoping.
It is one of my favorite places to dine it’s awesome
Excellent service and excellent food. Would recommend to anyone looking for a great dining experience in South Philadelphia.
Outstanding service and food. The pesto was fabulous, they specialize
in Veal dishes but everything was wonderful. Nice big round tables to
sit 8 of us. The Ravioli was delicious as was the salmon. Compliments to the chef!
Very, very very good! Can't wait to go back, enjoyed the food and service very much
Loved the whole experience !! We were to able to have a drink at bar and were seated when we were ready! Our server Alexis was perfect! Her wine and food recommendations were also perfect! I would def recommend asking for Alexis!
Always great here. Never a bad meal. Never bad service.
Comfortable room, good service, quality food and an interesting menu.
Have been to Saloon on several occasions and have never been disappointed.
Food was average and very expensive. Won’t go back.
Perfect evening! Service, food, ambiance were all excellent! My 19 year old cousin said it was the best meal he ever had!
The Saloon is a go to dining destination whenever we have customers in town. The food is great, the atmosphere is unique and the service outstanding.
Was a regular many years ago and decided to give it a another go. The veal was extremely tender and the marinara was delish. My favorite salad of all time, Radicchio Venezia, is still on the menu and was as wonderful as I remembered. Service was exemplary and cocktails were spot on. My one “complaint” they no longer serve veal liver which was my favorite dish there. Will definitely be back!
Excellent place! One our favorites in Philly! Fourth time there
Poor service. Wait staff forgot my entree while my friends had theirs. Problem wasn’t addressed for at least 20 minutes. When my food finally arrived everyone else had to have theirs re heated. Not the service I expect for the amount of money you pay. Nothing was comped off bill. Dissapointed
This is a good place for authentic Italian food. We will be back sooni
Love the place. Great menu, good food, superb service. Old school Italian social club vibe.
After a day of Museum visits we brought our out of town guests to the Saloon for an authentic South Philly Italian meal. We sat on the 2nd floor, and the noise level was perfect for conversation- wish every restaurant offered that! We started with eggplant parm and a tomato salad, both fresh & tasty. We had pasta & crab dish, a whole fish (Dorado I think) filleted at the table, I ordered a veal dish, rolled up with Parm & prosciutto- delicious. My husband asked for Shrimp in a spicy red sauce which isn’t on the menu- but our waitress assured us it would not be a problem. The shrimp were big and delicious.
After dinner they brought my husband a piece of lemon meringue pie with a candle & we enjoyed it with decaf cappuccinos. This is my new go-to place in Philly.
Great wait staff, super knowledgeable
Never gave had a bad experience at The Saloon.
The Saloon is a classic Philadelphia restaurant that's upscale without being snooty. The interior decorations are interesting to look at and the service is excellent. Most importantly, the food is superb. There's a nice mix of steak and Italian entrees and the desserts are great, too. it's not cheap, but you get what you pay for.
I hadn’t been here in more than 5 years and it was better than I recalled. Food was phenomenal and just so rich and tasty. Ambiance is that old-school Italian vibe that many places don’t have anymore. They have retained the charm of previous decades while not skipping a beat with cooking. Steak is one of the best around. Appetizers are delicious and fresh and wine selection, though not extensive, features quality wines that complement the meal. Service was outstanding and attentive without being overbearing. Overall, still one of the best in Philly in my opinion.
Have not been there in years. Very enjoyable! Great food, service and nice quite atmosphere!
As always the food and drinks were perfect. Of course the service was exceptional.
Everything was delicious!
Everything was great from start to finish ! We hadn’t been here for 29 years and it was as good as we remembered ! Food, service and ambience all five stars. Prices are high but definite worth it! We won’t wait 29 years to come back!
We came back a few months ago after several years trying the new restaurants that were springing up. We had forgotten how great the Saloon was and still is. Since then we have recommended to our friends and we brought a couple this time that had never been there before. Great food, great fun, great times.
The food was underwhelming and outdated. Service was slow. We found ourself a looking for the server often. Take home bags were all given to the wrong people.
I had not been to Saloon for a few years. Was glad to see that it was still the great place I remembered. The food was outstanding and the staff was very friendly and accommodating. We had always thought of this as an "expensive" special occasion restaurant, but actually the cost was less than many other "trend" center city restaurants. I was pleasantly surprised by the wine list --many great choices at reasonable prices. We plan to come back soon, and often.
Great atmosphere, very good food. The service was exceptional. Kudos to the combination of the 2 women who took care of our table, I have never experienced such perfect service. They we like a well oiled machine. They came to our table at the correct time, knew the menu, knew when to check on us and when to let us alone.
I’ve fined here 25+ times, it’s akways fantastic! I recommend it for anyone who is looking for a great atmosphere, unique dishes and attentive, friendly service.
It was date night for my wife and I, so we decided to switch up our dining area and opted for South Philly. I've dined at Saloon in a group setting once before and was satisfied with the service and meal. However, I typically find that the experience is different in a nongroup setting.
Both my wife and I enjoyed the experience and loved the food. With the exception of the sharable appetizer special for two that we ordered ($50.00), the entrees are reasonably priced and delicious! My only complaint would be the ambiguous charge on our receipt of $6.00 ($3.00 x 2 for "Up"). The waitress explained that their was a $3.00 charge for the martini glasses that our drinks came in. It was a bit obscure, but given how delicious our meals were, I was willing to overlook this charge and chalk it up to the inexperience of our waitress.
Will we come back? Absolutely! Will we bring friends? For sure! Will we pay for the type of glass our drink comes in? Probably not :)
It was the first time we’d ever been there and we had a wonderful evening and meal!
Always a wonderful meal. This establishment has maintained it’s consistency of excellence throughout the years.
We had a family dinner of 8 to celebrate a high school grad. The food as always was delicious and the service was fantastic! Highly recommend!!!
Philly mainstay. Great service, and staff. Always good food.
Have never had a bad meal or experience in The Saloon
What a wonderful experience! Food was fantastic, service was attentive and top-notch. The Italiano appetizer special was memorable! And what a treat to learn our dessert was “on the House” in honor of our wedding anniversary! We can’t wait to dine here again.
Server was amazing ( how does Lauren remember all of those additions?) and she got everything right! Food was delicious. Loved beet salad, poblano peppers with veal, our 3 pasta dishes too!
We had not been there for years and years and now that our Dtr just moved around the corner we will be there very often. Fabulous dinner!!!
We were seated early when restaurant was quiet. Rachel, our server, was fantastic. She was not only friendly, she was efficient and had complete knowledge of menu and specials. Food was excellent. Only downer was as bar began to fill up with the regulars it got very loud and took away from the experience. We still love the place!
