The service staff are kind and attentive, but the food was very poor. I went on Mother's Day and ordered the French toast special, and it was so burnt it was basically inedible.

Everything was lovely, the food, the presentation... but the service was outstanding. Never felt rushed, our bottomless mimosa glasses were never empty. A’Nara was patient with late members of our party, and explained menu questions perfectly. We will be back there soon.

Had a confirmed reservation on Open Table (which was confirmed at time of booking and then again the day before the reservation) and when we arrived there was sign saying Private Party. When I showed the bartender my confirmed reservation on my phone, he simply said too bad, nothing he could do but offer us a free drink to go! Terrible way to run business but a great way to run our business elsewhere. Hard to find dinner in the Quarter on the Friday night of Jazz Fest without a reservation so they really left us stranded. So long Salon, will never trust you again!

Our dinner reservation was not upheld by this restaurant due to a private event that evening. We were offered a free drink before being sent on our way to find an alternative place to eat.

I have gone to Sucre many times before events in the Quarter. I likely will not again. It was Easter Sunday, we had 6 in our party. Some of us were drinking and eating and some of us were on a budget. They would not split the check by seat. They offered to split the check evenly. I have worked service industry for 18 years, it is not difficult to split checks by seat. In fact, I believe they have done it there before. The real kicker was that there was an automatic gratuity of 22% added to the check. Autograt on parties of 6 is standard, but typically 18 to 20%. The service was okay...but 22% was presumptuous.

Mac and cheese was delicious! Waitress was great along with the hostess. Dessert left something to be desired - avoid the tiramisu eclair.

The steak and eggs were good. The chicken and waffles were just this-side of terrible . The space is airy and nice but it needed a good cleaning . The wait staff was competent and friendly but the greeter seemed abrupt and distracted. There are many better options for brunch close by.

We were so excited to try this restaurant because the pictures on line made the food look amazing! The food looks better than it tastes that is for sure! We ordered the crab mac and cheese which was very fishy tasting. We also ordered chicken and waffles the chicken was good, but the waffles were dry and tasted like they had been cooked earlier in the day. The hamburger was really the best savory thing we had. We also ordered tea service which i feel is very over priced for what you get. I would go back for macaroons, they were delicious, but will not dine at the Salon again. There are way to many other places that have food that look as beautiful as it tastes. I was very disappointed, I had such high hopes for this cute little place.

We went for High Tea around noon on a Thursday.
The setting is nothing like it appears online. I do not know why they offer a High Tea.
Aesthetically the presentation was beautiful but the taste was terrible. All of the bites was presented beautifully but Oh, the awful taste! The table dining next to us was eating lunch & said it looked better than it tasted.
The service was awful. There was a lipstick stain on the glass & the waiter scoffed when we asked for a new glass.
I would not recommend this restaurant to anyone going to New Orleans, for Lunch, Brunch, High Tea, Dinner, none of it. Spend your money somewhere else.
I want my money back.

We visit Salon Two years ago, was awesome but this second time was worst.
inefficient service, regular but expensive food for the portions, orange juice was not natural, waffle was cold, table was not set, as no one was waiting for us and were surprised by our arrival. A lot of staff but lack of organization.

Try the tea service menu for a wonderful 3 course sampling - which ended with some of their decadent desserts, candies and macarons. Setting was beautiful and airy, with great service and delicious breakfast options. Nice balcony for outside dining too.

Carnival Tea was not as fabulous and I hoped it would be. The sweet offerings did live up to Sucre standards but all of the savory offerings lacked flavor. The shrimp and crawfish were bland, certainly by New Orleans standards. The atmosphere is very loud, which is certainly not expected for an afternoon tea experience. I do not plan to return.

I was bit disappointed to find that you have to request the tea menu in advance with a reservation now. Our server was attentive though the kitchen was less so. However, our server did her very best and took excellent care of us. It was a bit louder than usual as people from the dessert area downstairs were allowed seats upstairs despite the need for reservations. Not the same quality on my last two visits as prior visits. I’ve been a huge fan, but it seems to be going “trendy tourist” now. I think weekends are a bit more crowded than I prefer.

My best friend and I wanted an amazing final Brunch of our trip and that is exactly what we received. We arrived at 9:45 for our 10am reservation. (Note: the store downstairs opens earlier but the restaurant doesn’t seat anyone prior to 10am). We asked for and received a table on the balcony. It was a gorgeous morning with lots of fun people to watch. Our server was funny and entertaining and I loved him! But let’s talk about the food!

Croque Benedict - I lusted after this dish from afar when I saw a photo of it online. It was absolutely delicious. I personally wished there was a bit more sauce for the biscuit. But I would definitely purchase this again.

Steak and Eggs - We would not order this again. The steak was really grisly. The egg was heavily peppered. There re other things that we would rather try instead.

Salon Grits - Definitely would order again. We had the Wild Mushroom topping and personally needed to add just a bit of salt, but overall we were really pleased.

Oh yes, my friends, we save room for dessert. We ordered the Brown Butter Bread Pudding. It was heated and served warm. Just the perfect amount of sweetness and so satisfying.

We will definitely return on our next trip!

Went for Afternoon Tea on a Sunday! Wish we would have known there was a party that day! It was extremely loud. The food and our waitress were fantastic! Downstairs is like a bakery where they sell pastries. The line was long and unorganized and the people working downstairs were extremely rude. I would return but make sure that on the day I want to relax with afternoon tea that there is not a party going on.

My sister, mom, and I went to Salon by Sucre for the first time this past weekend for the Carnival tea and I can't say any of us were very impressed. I had trouble getting in touch by phone the week before and once we got there, it just didn't seem like they had their act together for a tea. I understand this might be a new thing for them to do, but it seems that there are some kinks they need to work out.

We came to NOLA for a girls weekend. I was excited to research potential brunch locations that were close to our hotel at the French Market Inn. Sucre looked great both on Open Table and Trip Advisor. But we were disappointed. First the price for the cheese board was $10 higher than the posted menu on Open Table, which made it unaffordable. The restaurant is very cute but it is extremely small and it was freezing inside. We were disappointed with the mac & cheese, the french onion soup, the breakfast sandwich and the frittata. The only menu item we liked was the avocado tacos. There are so many amazing places to eat in New Orleans but unfortunately this is not one of them.

This was my second time visiting Salon by Sucre for Afternoon Tea. My first visit was in early December 2018 to celebrate a co-worker's baby. Everything about the first experience was wonderful. So much so that I cancelled my reservation for Tea at Windsor Court and decided to bring my daughter to Sucre instead. For $45 per person plus what I paid to park, I should have kept my reservation at Windsor Court. The menus we were provided for Afternoon Tea were dirty. I should have taken a picture. The covers were stained with food and drink. The teas (Scarlet Rose and Lemon Ginger) and Baked Serving (Scones, Pumpkin Madeleines, and Biscuits) were delicious. My daughter enjoyed the Pumpkin Madeleines very much. The Savory and Sweet servings were okay. I ate it because I paid for it. I probably won't return for Afternoon Tea. This Afternoon Tea was worth about $20 per person at best.
