This place was awful, service was so poor we went to Trident instead. We had a reservation for 8:45 and weren’t seated at 9:15 so we left. We even showed up 10 minutes early.
Would not recommend.
Out of town guests
Kid friendly, beautiful views
Amazing views across the marina. Our server was great and although he provided the wrong wine this was quickly remedied. He brought the bill before we had chance to order coffee (perhaps people don't drink it here much?) But again no problem ans we got the coffee for free. Food was good and we would love to return.
Location can’t be beat, and food was really good, too.
Great food, on the water , wonderful service
Fantastic. Accomidating. Easy. Wonderful. Worth it!
It was very obvious that they were understaffed. Service was slow and several times, we had to follow up with requests and/or we never got our requests. Much of the waitstaff didn’t speak/understand English. Food and dessert was good.
We went here for Father's Day brunch and the food was pretty good. The oysters were excellent and my prime rib was good.
The service was just okay. While our server was nice, she forgot the bread and the kids waters. We were outdoors in the sun so the kids were pretty thirsty.
Overall the food was good and the service was okay.
We went to lunch for Father’s Day with our son. Lovely meal and views everyone enjoyed their meals.
as always , good food, great scene/location, great service = great night
Prime rib dinners were good. Crab cakes were sensational. We asked for leisurely pace of service & didn’t feel rushed. Courses were served without silverware. Sand dabs were just passable. Wine served with flourish, bottled water for non-drinkers plopped. NO sense of service for sparkling water. That’s the house not the waitperson. We had fun.
The best part is the water view. The food and service are good, but not remarkable in any way. Prices are about as high as you would expect for Sausalito. Parking is a problem.
Salito's is wonderful. The views of Richardson Bay can't be beat. The availability of indoor or outdoor seating is great, so you can suit yourself to the weather that you find. The service is great. The food is even better. From main courses, to starters, to salads, to appetizers, there is something for everyone. Just go!
The service was inattentive and scarce. The food left a lot to be desired. It looked good, but tasted awful! Would not go back here again because there are a lot more waterfront restaurants that have much better food and service.
MY FIRST BAD REVIEW EVER!
After 45 minutes of being seated we finally received water for the table and were able to submit our order. We ordered fish cakes and fish & chips that arrived with unappetizing overdone and dry vegetables and signature potatoes. That evening (and the next day) , one of our guests who had the fish cakes, was violently ill - possibly due to the fish cakes not being properly prepared.
This used to be one of our favorite restaurants but we will definitely NOT be back. POOR SERVICE. POOR FOOD.
The food was incredible as was the view! The cheese bread with chorizo was amazing. The prime rib lean and the seafood pasta generous with seafood and crab legs! A must dine at establishment and a definite do over!
The food was great and service was good, the one disappointment was that despite leaving a special request note stating I was celebrating an anniversary and wanted a table on the water it seems like they did not read the note. I even stated that we were willing to wait in order to be seated overlooking the water. Upon arrival, I mentioned the request and they tried sitting us at a table not on the water. I explained the situation and they were very friendly and one lady assured us she would get it taken care of and then disappeared, we waited for approximately 30-45 minutes for a table to open up and had to speak to another gentleman who got us situated . Seemed a bit long for having reservations and previously stating our preference. Overall it was great though, we had a romantic dinner and as mentioned before the food and wine and setting was fantastic. We would gladly go back.
Their sizzling plate of mussels and shrimp is always amazing!
We're new to the neighborhood, and Salito's was one of the few to have a space for dinner on short notice. When we arrived, I saw why. It is a family favorite, with comfort food for kids and adults alike. The space is large enough to accommodate the last minute planners (like us!) and the view is wonderful. Our server was prompt and efficient. He entered our drink orders and went to wait on another table. I assumed it would be awhile before our drinks arrived, but before he was done with the other table, our drinks arrived! It is a slick and quick system! The menu is accommodating and creative, and we had a wonderful time.
We were a bit reluctant to try due to some not so good reviews. but tried anyways and we were so glad that we did! came with my husband and 2 boys ages 6 and 4 years old. The ambiance is super relaxed and family friends with an amazing relaxing view right on the water. it's open with great fresh air. we did not sit at bar but there were tons of people because they were watching the BB game and it's a really nice large bar with lots of table top space.
Regarding food, my kids ordered the plain buttered fettuccine noodles which unfortunately my younger pickier one wasn't a fan of but my 6 year old loved. I ended up ordering the salmon plate (plain with olive oil) which came with mixed veggie (cauliflower, potatoes,e tc) sun dried tomato couscous. My kids ended up eating up ALL of the salmon it was soooo soft and yummy! Husband got the pan fried calamari with lemon/caper sauce which also came with couscous and veg. I think he would've liked it better if it was without any creamy sauce. but the calamari was good.
We also got the crunchy brussel sprout and kettle bread. Brussel sprout was tasty but too much oil. Only recommendation for the food if they could use a bit less oil, it would've been superb.
Overall super kid friendly restaurant which crayons/worksheets, food was above average, ambiance and location were wonderful! I would recommend to others to try.
We live in San Francisco and have been to Salito's many times, each time just as enjoyable as the last. We make it a point to introduce visitors to Salito's, not only for the great food and view, but we believe Salito's delivers to its patrons, the quintessential Bay Area experience.
The location is beautiful with wonderful views. I made reservations for 8 people and was seated in a table meant for 6. Fortunately one person in my party was not able to join but it was still a tight squeeze for 7 people. The ambience was great. The service could be better although the intention was there. The place was a full house, we waited alot to be attended and to have our items brought out and often times reminding that we were still waiting. I think having more people on staff would help this situation out rather than wait around for someone to check on you. All in all it was a great experience. The view and vibe took away most of the negatives in the experience. Having reservations we weren't in a hurry but would have liked better service for the price you pay.
Great, as always!
I wanted to try something new in Sausalito on the water, and heard Salitos was really good. In my reservation, I requested a table on the deck, which we had right next to the water. The food was fabulous as well as the service. I really appreciated that we were never rushed, as we were there for almost 2 1/2 hours. I highly recommend Salitos and look forward to going back!
Fabulous day with delicious food and excellent service. Everything we ordered was superbly prepared and flavorful from house salad to chicken to fish and chips lemon cake for dessert (definitely save room for some).
Great view with delicious food and totally worth the drive from the Eastbay.
Great view of the Marin boat basin on a beautiful afternoon. Nice selection of seafood, the focus of the visit and excellent crab. Good value fixed meal deal. Need to try the oysters when we go back. Parking and navigating the facilty was easy even with a broken ankle.
Will tell all my freinds and family about this wonderful meal, nice staff and great location.
First off, getting there was a bit of a trek — you gotta go through some steep drops. Not for the light hearted. Once you get there though, the view is breath-taking. No question about it. As for the food, the freshness is spectacular, especially the fish fry and the crabs. Wouldn’t recommend the crab chowder though. Spices added to food are rather plain to bring out the flavors of the seafood itself. Overall, would recommend. Check your brakes before going down the hill though — you’ll need them.
We waited 15 minutes at the bar for a table, but both bartenders totally ignored us. Our food server was not very attentive.
The garlic dungeness crab was very bland and, weirdly, while the outside shell parts were hot, the inside crab meat was cold and bland. The meat tasted watery.
It was a very expensive and unsatisfying meal.
If you are just going for drinks and atmosphere, I guess it would be okay, assuming you can get the bartenders' attention.
Got glass in my cocktail. Had to get up to get my own utensils. Waited 30 minutes for our reservation and was skipped over due to defective pager which never went off. Food, once received was delicious. Server should have comp’d our meal but didn’t of course. Tacky restaurant.
We love coming here to celebrate our birthday's and special events!! It is always great food and great views!!
The food was pretty tasty but the service was terrible. We sat down and our drinks were taken care of but the server did not come back to take our order for 30 mins! After our food was delivered he disappeared again for another hour. We even asked others to help us but they said they would find our server.
All in all a dinner that takes 3 hours with a toddler is no walk in the park. If you do decide to come here dont come when you are extremely hungry or try to grt your order in right away when you have your server’s attention.
Probably wont be coming back here.
I made a reservation for last Saturday I show up they want to give me a var seat I said no I have a reservation I want a real table I left I will never if back there terrible customer service.
Best fish & chips I’ve ever had
As usual beautiful meal and very kind, accommodating people.
Love coming here on a sunny day. Literally on the bay with great views and ambiance. Food is generally excellent especially when Dungeness Crab is in season. Very busy so service can be a bit slow but very friendly.
Fun night fir us! Our server Darian was awesome an made the night just that much better, great food an ambiance but even better service.
This is our go-to place in Sausalito: waterfront view, dependable menu, friendly service.
Great ambiance and terrific menu. The food was very good. Great seafood and the sourdough bread served in a cast iron pan was a twist on an all-time favorite.
