lunch followed by that queasy feeling you get from eating food that’s just too greasy.....We had mussels, Brussels sprouts & fish fry - frankly everything tasted like it had been cooked in the same oil. Way overpriced for quality of food & service. Servers tried hard & were nice, but at $70+ I kinda think you should wipe down the table.
Salito's is a close to being a tourist trap. It is very expensive, the portions are very small, and the drinks are terrible. And it has a mysterious consortium of owners.
The last three times, I have been there, I have ordered gin and tonics and I think they mistook the recipe for a dry martini where you wave the bottle by the glass. But they wave the gin by the glass. The last time, I finally mentioned this to the waiter and he said I could buy a shot to essentially make it a single.
But I continue to go there because of the wonderful views and the great history of the places that preceded it, Zack's and Margaritaville.
The service is not horrible and the food is not horrible.
The prime rib was amazing and melts in your mouth, the sea bass was perfectly cooked, and the cheese bread with chorizo sauce was fantastic. We loved the whole experience.
We had a family get together and it was great! Great service! Great food!
Christina was wonderful... she really helped me surprise my husband... the whole place took great care of us! And the food was wonderful... can't wait to go back and eat another crab! Yum!
Our first time in Sausalito. A friend recommended Salito's and it was perfect for my husband, me and two teenage boys after a hike in Muir Woods. I booked through Open Table and asked for a table with a great view. We arrived and they had the best table in the house waiting for us. The whole experience was A+++. Would go back in a heart beat. Thank you!
Very good food. Dungeness crab was delicious.
The crab was flavorless and the prime rib was undercook for well done. The cheese bread was something I wouldn't order again. Overall, I am puzzled as to how this restaurant is mentioned as one of the bay area's best establishment, which is truly a joke.
It was fine. Nothing wrong, I just wouldn’t seek it out again.
The Dungeness crab and bread are good, the rest of the food/salad was average at best.. But the service was the worst we’ve had in years. 3 hours just to have dinner. So inattentive. 1/2 hour just to see a server at the table for the first time. Nice enough waitress but clearly overloaded or distracted and exceptionally slow to return. Table busing very lacking and hostess who did not seem to know what was going on. This might be tolerable in a lesser venue with cheap food, but it was a very expensive meal and intended to be a nice birthday party. Very disappointed.
I've been in your restaurant over 60 times because I love the food, service, views, option to eat inside or out, ambiance -- fun place to take friends or clients.
The food was impeccable and our waitress was extremely friendly as she chatted with us, doing more than just taking our order. Our dinner seemed to run late into their closing time, but they never once made us feel rushed to leave.
It’s nice to have a warm outside eating area in Marin. Our prime ribs were very salty. Otherwise everything was fine.
The deck, service, and food was great! Especially the oysters!!
We have been to Salito’s several times before, and went back for the mussels. Not disappointed. We also had the fish & chips, which was really great, too. The only item that was not “memorable” was the Caesar salad. But the beignets made up for it! Can’t wait to go back.
This Place was Awesome from when you arrive at the front door to the outdoor seating area! The food and the ambiance was amazing! We went for dinner and I would like to go back and do Lunch next!
Beautiful views at this waterfront restaurant. I recommend the turf over the surf. The crab was not very flavorful. Everything else was excellent.
Beautiful view of the Sausalito water front and sail boats. A very happy, fun, casual restaurant with nice ambience to enjoy a meal!
Lovely setting for a meal. Get the bread!! A little pricy but most good places are these days.
We went there for my husband’s 50th birthday. We had a party pf 30 people. The staff and food were amazing. Although our event was an evening affair, the view was still incredible. All worth every bit of the time and cost. Thank you Salito’s for making my husband’s 50th special for all of us.
Friendly staff, very good food.
The food was very good. Highly recommended! Our waitress, Erica, was terrible. She was quick to take order from us but was slow to bring food to the table. We waited 45 minutes for our crab cakes and a whole hour for our meals. There were three tables came after us. They ate and left and we were still waiting for our food. Interestingly we had to ask her to check on our food and then she would bring the food to us. The food was cold; so it tells me that the food was sitting there for a while. When she finally brought our meals to us, she couldn’t remember who ordered what. She was BAD. The service ruined the tasty food.
I was disappointed with Salito's. It was my second visit. The first time was exceptional. We had a terrific waiter. He cracked our crab, gave us bread and the portions were very large. This time however, we were overcharged, there was less food and the bread cost extra. The guy that brought out our food said that he wasn’t allowed to crack the crab. We won’t go back.
The $0.99 Bread is one of the best values in the Bay Area. Delicious. Keep that baker forever.
Everything else was mediocre and over-priced but it is nice to be on the water.
This was my second time visiting and the first time was during brunch and the service and the food was amazing. This second time was horrible, we did not receive our drinks until 30 minutes after I made a call to the front desk that we had not been greeted or seen. Then the manager than apologised and said he would take the drinks off the order, which was funny considering the machine was out of carbonation. This was by far the worst experience but the food was amazing. Unfortunately that brings the score down to 1 star.
Love the restaurant. They were a bit overwhelmed and service was slow. Ran out of deserts.
Horrible service. Cold food. Ignored. Waited 20 minutes for waiter. Everything went down hill from there. 30 minutes before we received raw oyster appetizer; an additional 30-40 minutes for lukewarm crab finally 20 minutes wait for cold beignets. Ridiculous! Uncalled for!
Very disappointed in this restaurant, made online reservations, got there and they said they had no record of it, even when I showed them email, had to wait 20 minutes; not bad but it went downhill from there. Ignored by waiter for 10 minutes, he looked at us twice, finally another waiter came and apologized. Took our order; husbands seafood fettuccine came without a cracker to open crab legs, daughters cheeseburger she ordered plain and came without a bun and the potatoes! Waiter never came to the table the entire time we had our food! Would never return!
For our first visit, we really enjoyed the food and seating by the water. The food was delicious, and the portions were generous. Highly recommended for Sausalito. We would definitely visit again!
Everything perfect !!! Melissa and my family loved it !!!
Horrible service. Wasted over an hour waiting around for service. Worst service ever. Never coming back for mediocre food.
Everything was delicious. Our service was so great! I love the crab there!
No side dishes, only "potatitos" food ok, but no side dishes. Drinks are good, but no side dishes.
We had made a reservation weeks ago, and when we got there they said they only had a table outside. Well, it was cold out there, so we finally got someone to move us inside, but we were seated next to the glass doors that open to the outside, and the draft we had because the doors could not close all the way was very uncomfortable.
I had to eat with my coat on.
It was my idea to to there, and I was embarrassed that I chosen that restaurant. The other couple was not pleased with how it went. I felt bad.
Food was great. Service was incredible. Overall scenery was amazing.
Food and service consistently excellent.
A little spendy, but good for an occasion. Great service, good menu, lots of variety
Excellent service, excellent view, and excellent food. We keep coming back for more and are never disappointed.
The noise level was “over-the-top” appalling. The Manager doesn’t understand what his role is, which is to “manage” his staff, and to ensure that everyone has an enjoyable dining experience; the guy who claimed to be the Manager first emerged outside of his office when I asked to speak to him (which was after several unsuccessful requests to the wait-staff to ask the incredibly noisy (shouting!) guests at the next table to tone it down). And, the service was just mediocre (took about 5 minutes after we got served the appetizer to get napkins, water glasses, water and flatware.....). I recommend you go, instead, to Poggio, or Luna Blu, or Spinnaker,. AVOID this place if you want to have a nice time.
Always fresh seafood and excellent prime rib at great prices. Appetizer and 1 Prix fix 3 course menu is enough for two hungry adults, no corkage fee and view of the Bay upon request. Deal of the century!
