Salito's Crab House & Prime Rib
Breakfast served all day.
Tourist food. Poor service - we noticed fried food on the floor under our table and asked that be cleaned up 3x. Nothing happened -
reporting that restaurant did not have the reservation in their system. Lucky for us, they could accommodate us.
With the reservation we requested a window table for a special dinner. They gave us a small table inside, away from the window. Service was ok, food was sub-par.
I made a res. here with high hopes. I had not been before and found this place because hubby wanted surf and turf for his bday dinner. I had noted on my OT reservation it was for his bday. We arrived an hour early because weather and traffic cooperated better than expected from Oakland. They took us early without an issue. I had mentioned to the hostess on arrival that we had a special occasion and she did not say a word to acknowledge or reassure me that they had this covered. She took us to a crummy booth table in a back dining room surrounded by 2 tables set for large 12 top parties? I did my own recon and found the front dining room overlooking the water had open tables, so asked if it was possible to move us there. She did without issue, however, we were put at a table in the "fishbowl" middle of the room when there were perimeter tables wide open? I again asked could we sit along the side and she seated us there. Once we were seated, we had a wonderful waiter. He was attentive and really tried to make our dining experience special. We opted for their pre-fixe dinners of Crab and Prime Rib which we shared so hubby could have surf and turf. The crab was not prepared to my liking. It was absolutely covered in herbs to the point I could not even taste crab - but a mix of Italian seasonings - it was cooked nicely just not a good flavor palate. Another weird thing - they had orange light bulbs in their recessed lighting which cast a very strange light on my hubby's Prime Rib dinner plate. It made it appear well done, even thought it wasn't? It affected how he enjoyed the steak sadly. Left a better impression once we got home to snack on.
The pastry chef was the best part of the meal! The warm bread was delicious and our panna cotta dessert was tasty. They also brought beignets with a beautiful chocolate sauce with a candle and sang Happy Bday. If this place could tighten up food prep, improve lighting and replace the hostess - I will be back.
While clearly on the tourist radar, a comfy place for some garlic butter crab on a rainy Monday birthday. Caesar salad just ok; Side of veggies was a joke but fresh baked bread for dipping delicious, as was dessert cake. A solid good restaurant, not cheap for crab, but our local go-to for crab when in the mood
We always get the super combo. Totally worth if you’re looking for crab, mussels, & shrimp. Food is consistent & service is great.
Really nice view and great food they offered. Food is good there...u won't find any problem from what you will pay. I'll go back again for sure!
Good atmosphere, bay views, service and good food. Will go back anytime.
We have been to Salito's Crab House many times, and enjoy it each and every time. Our waiter, Josh, has served us many times over the years. He has always been courteous, recognizes us, and knows what we like. He always welcomes us with a smile, and chats for a few minutes.
Our food has always been prepared the way we like it, and served at the right temperature.
Waiters and bus boys didn’t understand English well. Asked for sour cream and no one seemed to understand what I was asking for. Took 15 minutes to get it after my food was served.
Never a dull moment here. The moment you walk in, you are taken away!
although a bit pricey, we enjoyed the sea food. the petrali sole was a bit fishy, but the salmon was good.
Servers weren’t very attentive and floor was quite dirty during dining. Had to pour our own bottle of wine as server rarely came by and took several attempts to flag down our server when we needed to order or request something.
I was THROUGHLY IMPRESSED compared to another dining experience in Sausilito that we had chosen the previous evening! The service, food , prices, menu selections were AWESOME at Sausilito’s! I enjoyed it SO MUCH that instead of going to one of my regular spots, Sam’s Chowder House in Half Moon Bay, we are going to Sausilito’s instead!!
I love eating here. Great food and great place to be.
We chose Salitos for a job promotion celebration for our granddaughter. We have been coming there for years and are never disappointed. Everything was over and above. Our waiter was awesome and we were not rushed.. thank you again..
Welcome is not at the level.
young uncomfortable waitress who does not care
Excellent place to eat and drink. Beautiful view, great food, great service. It one of my Marin favorites.
Fresh whole crabs with a view of the bay! They have heaters outside so its warm even in January. Went here for our anniversary since my wife was craving crab.
This place is a great find in Sausalito. Right on the water, great seafood and service, and no corkage fee!
What a great place and also what a great staff. I will be back.
This is the best little crab house around. Very nice and the food is super good. The fish was very fresh and the bartender was very helpful when we arrived. We had a good little appetizer and then went to our table with a lovely view of the bay. I highly recommend the crab enchiladas they were out of this world!
We had a reservation yet the hostess didn’t know where to seat us as if she wasn’t expecting us to actually arrive.
Waiter was great food was good
What a great place to have a lunch date on the water. Warm enough to eat outdoors with the warmers throughout the restaurant. The Crab chowder was excellent, the prime ei was fabulous and the dessert was out of this world.
Service was horrible. Food was ok at best.
Seriously unimpressive food and staff who were pleasant-ish but didn’t get what working in a service industry means. Steak - not great, crab cakes - greasy, cioppino - ok, panda cotta - terrible. At upper end of price range around here too. Not value for money. Won’t go again.
Ordered two appetizers and four entrees for our table. One appetizer came out, and two minutes later, all of the other food came all at once. Server never came back to the table, crowded table with extra dishes that were never cleared. Not very attentive staff.
Loved it here! Service was warm and friendly. I ordered the fish and chips- best I’ve ever had! Love their cocktail menu and beer selection too. I wouldn’t change a thing!
Had a great time eating lunch with my family and dog out on the patio!
Had a booking for 9:45PM, but restaurant kitchen closed at10:00PM, so a little rushed. The service was excellent though and the food great!
It was definitely an experience but we wouldn’t go back. We were so excited to make this our spot when we came to Sausalito but it was very disappointing. Was definitely not the service we wanted for the price that we payed for.
Fast service and good food. Great way to ring in the new year
New Years Eve - I advised the hostess that we had reservations and she motioned to all the people waiting that they too had reservations. I asked how long the wait was, she said she didn’t know. I asked why reservations were needed, she said she didn’t know. The service was good just a bit slow but the pre-fixed meal was quite bland other than the dessert. I would not go back.
We had a reservation on NYE and they were unable to seat us when we arrived. We called another restaurant and were able to get in elsewhere.
We were happily surprised by our visit on New Year's Eve. The food and service were fantastic. There is a large outdoor dining area overlooking the bay which was available but a little too rugged for us this time of year but we will definitely be back to try it out when the weather warms up.
Damn the Maitre d' was cold! No smile, No expression, just plain laziness. Sad and disappointing overall.
Salito’s is the perfect spot to get Sausalito fare in an unpretentious, yet high end experience. A narrow but well selected drink menu provides for good pairing at a great value. The hearty seafood portions are well executed, and represent the local flavor perfectly. Above all, the service is fantastic. On a mad dash holiday evening, we had attentive and accommodating servers, hosts and bussers, perfect for a family night out.
We made a reservation for 6:30pm on Sunday. Showed up and was told that it's an open seating restaurant - we were handed silverware and told to sit where it's open. So, we found a table on their patio near a heater. At 6:30, the area we were sitting was a quarter full, at best. It took 15+ minutes for a server to come over - and if you have kids that are hungry, that's an eternity. They ran out of root beer, so my kids ordered something else. Took 15+ minutes to receive our drinks, and it was someone other than our server that brought them. At this point, we hadn't even had a chance to order yet. When our server did return, we ordered quickly. Our food didn't take as long as we feared, but we didn't see our server from the time we ordered until we paid. The 3lbs of crab we ate was good - but was drenched in garlic butter. If I had known, I would have asked that they come with no butter added. Overall, an ok experience, but the service was subpar and the timing was way off.
Great place, what a view! The food is amazing and the location is very convenient if you are touring Sausalito, the only thing I would complain about is the service, they brought us wrong food, things we didn’t order and took some time, but overal worth the wait and the mistakes because everything else was perfect!
We love to eat here. Food is delicious. Get seated on time. Beautiful view ! We always come back
