This is difficult for everyone right now and our thoughts are with you all.
With love and gratitude, the Salinas family
Salinas specializes in contemporary Spanish cuisine with many items sourced directly from Spain. Salinas is proud to locally source fresh to market ingredients and committed to producing food responsibly.
I selected this restaurant to have an early dinner with my wife, daughter and roommate who both attend college in NYC. The restaurant was a perfect choice, the food and service was great. My wife and I have no restrictions on diet but my daughter considers herself a pescatarian, her friend a vegetarian. The menu catered to all diets and I definitely would recommend it.
Our second visit to Salinas was as enjoyable as our first. The paellas are special...unlike any others I've ever seen. The creative menu brings out the best of the ingredients, with options for gluten-free dining. Service was impeccable. We sat in the back room, which provided a lovely, quiet atmosphere for enjoying the very special meal.
The food was exquisite. However the chef was inflexible and there is no reason why substitution if one veg for another should be a surcharge when the prices are already extremely high. Wine list is grossly overpriced
Fabulous tastes and very cozy room
Salinas was a wonderful dining experience. I will do back as often as I can.
Outstanding food...great service from start to finish!
My husband and I had such a wonderful experience here!!! Food was exceptional, service was great, and the restaurant was very romantic and beautiful! Will definitely be coming back again soon!
The restaurant and server was wonderful
The food was the issue
Tasty food but a little pricey. Good service and nice atmosphere.
I am a huge fan of Salinas but this was a very disappointing meal. Items were either too salty or extremely bland. Even the familiar fabulous cocktails had the same problem—either over iced and bland or too sweet. What happened to my favorite restaurant?
Incredible. One if the best nyc dinner experiences EVER. And we have had 693 of them all over town. WOW
There were no salad options on the menu. Nothing light. Food was okay. The room was beautiful and the service great.
Great food, great servers, and great ambience. My only complaint is the cost of the drinks and sangria.
First of all, the food was excellent and full of exquisite flavor. The staff really made you feel special and were attentive to all your needs and were more than happy to assist you. Salinas itself is pretty on the inside with multiple rooms with a different vibe in each. Highly recommend for a nice date night or any special occasion.
Fabulous food, service and ambience. One of the best restaurants serving Iberian food outside of Ibiza. And we go there all the time!
Red wines are very expensive! Think ‘cheapest’ bottle was $78 I think
Great food and incredibly attentive service ---we just had 4 starters ( 2 of the 3 nightly specials) since it was an early dinner before seeing a play but they were all delicious and very interesting.
Would definitely go back for a full dinner
A bit pricey and wish I had been told the price of my glass of wine ($22!)
Atmosphere was great. Some of the dishes were too salty. Service was good.
We had a wonderful dinner and the service was fantastic. I requested a corner table in the Garden room and was accommodated with our favorite seat. We have been to the restaurant before and we will be continued customers!
Every thing as expected and the way a dinner should be.
Amazing service and loved every dish.
Ambiance and Service excellent. Staff could not be nicer. Food creative, but it would have been nice to be able to order a simple salad along with the "creative" menu
More on the smaller side of restaurant size, but that does not detract from how nice the interior is. The garden room where we sat was really nice, and even though it was quite full it did not feel cramped or overly loud with people talking. The wait staff was very friendly and one of the hosts was very helpful describing the specials and made great food and drink recommendations. Drinks were well made, the food was great and paced appropriately. We didn't feel like we had to wait for any extensive duration for service. We were checked up on enough without feeling like we were being bothered. Overall awesome experience.
Salinas is one of my favorite places in NYC to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. Fine wine list.
We first had dinner at the restaurant about 8 years ago and although we don't reside in New York City full time we always have Salinas as one of our go to restaurants and have been back for dinner several times since the first time. Love the vibe!
Fantastic experience. Lovely room. Great food.
Excellent drinks and tasty food. Service was so-so at best. Took a long time to get a drink served, but food came out very quickly (too quickly). The main servers were below average in their attentiveness, but the food distributors and water-attendants very attentive. Would probably try something different next time.
Excellent meal and service thank you Garrett you are a great server!!
Bartender made terrible drinks while we waited 20 minutes for our table. When we were seated, after 15 more minutes, we had to ask the host several times if they could send over a server for us. When the waitress arrived, she saw the full drinks on the table and “knew that the bad bartender must have made them”...apparently they have a bad bartender and don’t do anything about it? Unfortunate that the paella needs 45 minutes advanced ordering and we couldn’t do that until about 40 minutes after our reservation. More unfortunate that it wasn’t any good.
Sympathetically, our waitress told us “I would’ve compt the drinks but you already paid” to which we replied “we actually tried to carry the bill over to our table, but were not allowed”. The waitress awkwardly replied “oh right it’s Friday”.
When we ordered tapas to split, we tried paying extra for a 3rd scallop (there were 3 of us and we found out the serving was for 2). The normal thing would be to upcharge and give a 3rd, given the circumstances we expected the 3rd to be free of charge. Neither happened - we were told it could not be done because it would create a 4th unused serving.
At the end of the meal, when we said we did not want dessert and just the check, they brought over some sympathy sorbet. Wow...the efforts they went through to make us feel welcome!
Overpriced even if it was good. Definitely never returning.
Fantastic small plates—don’t hesitate to get the octopus with popcorn, it’s amazing.
Location is convenient and the servers are knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. But the reason to come is for the food. It is unique, it is presented beautifully, and it is delicious.
The food was fantastic. They sat us a little later than the reservation but they took care of us.
It was just fantastic in all respects. My two guests felt the same way and one person was vegan.
Very nice elegant contemporary twist on tapas
My two daughters and I had dinner at Salinas before a performance at the Joyce. Our excellent server took note of the fact that we had an 8:00pm show. The three of us shared the cauliflower and artichoke "tapas", then the En Costra del Calabaza, which is on the menu under "Arroces Y Fideos"; all were really delicious. We were seated in the very back room, which was so cozy with the fireplace. The food is excellent, the ambiance elegant, the service gracious.
It was a lovely dinner! The food was all scrumptious and beautifully presented; the wait staff were well-trained and friendly, and not the TOO friendly types you can get sometimes. No one asked us if we were still "working" on our food, which was amazing, since it happens all the time, and it's my pet peeve. The atmosphere is warm and it is clear that thought was put into the decoration (chic but comfortable) and efforts made to reduce noise through padding, etc. Highly recommend - would be very nice for a date!
Food was delicious! My only complaint was that they forgot to bring out the special appetizer that we had ordered. That being said, there was almost a 45 minute gap in between our first appetizer and entree. They did make up for it and sent dessert on the house. The mistake made me give 4 stars, other than that I would have given 5 stars.
One word describes our experience: exquisite. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. We ate three tapas and split an entree and it was enough food for the two of us. Add a bottle of wine and a dessert and the sum was a perfect, delicious and delightful evening.
Good atmosphere, very good service (although felt a bit rushed) but very over priced even for NYC
