Everything was perfect. Octopus with black garlic sauce was TOO delicious. The design, the fire place, the flowers , the service was superb.
Totally amazing experience on all fronts - I would go there again - go for a special occasion too!
Salinas was top notch all around. The garden room was beautiful, and quiet for a pre show dinner. The ambience was everything I could hope for and more. Service from front door staff, to servers and waitstaff were all attentive and A+. I would highly recommend
Absolutely outstanding in every respect.
Pretty place and one of the best Spanish restaurants in NYC. Some nice plays on very authentic dishes. Food, wine, cocktails, service are great. Specialty ingredients and seafood items are beautiful. Really pretty place, a little too expensive. Like 25% more than it should be. Leaves a bit of a bad taste.. Portions small for big time prices like $50-130 for entrees. Otherwise excellent and special.
Very good food! Expensive! But very good food!
Perfect restaurant to take your better half. We loved the ambience, the flowers, and the food. We ordered croquetas, patatas, Brazilian fish, octopus, and chocolate pustachio ice cream. Also one of the best sangria's I have had in a long time!!! Excellent experience.
Had a wonderful dinner with a combination of tapas, side dishes and a rice dish. Dessert was also delightful. The servers were attentive and helpful in deciding on choices. Would definitely visit again.
A very smart place with a great interior - very professional service and great food
This restaurant was an unexpected find with a warm ambiance sitting far back off the street. The service was excellent and very good traditional tapas along with larger entrees. Very nice bar.
The restaurant itself is beautiful. Very chic atmosphere with great food. I highly recommend for a date or a special occasion. Good wine list, delicious cocktails, and great service. Will definitely be going back!
Fabulous! The rice dishes and suckling pig are not to be missed.
Terrific Food. Wonderful experience.
Fantastic food and service at this Spanish tapas restaurant. If you're looking for paella, it's only served on Sundays. However, the menu has so much to offer we didn't miss it. Some innovative and some traditional dishes are available, with small plates for sharing and larger entrees for those who want a more traditional meal. The bread service is excellent, but a bit pricey at $9.00. Pulpo with popcorn coating and squid ink sounded strange, but was really good. Branzino and short rib/scallop plates were delicious. Try the fried garbanzo beans - amazing! Only downside was we were seated in the bar area and it was quite noisy. Highly recommend.
Perfect romantic dinner
I recommend Salinas for more of the adventurous eating kinds of folks. We also were sad that there was not more of a tapas menu, we always love having a lot of options for tapas. Instead, it's more of a limited menu, which they do very well, but is for people who are more interested in getting creative dishes. For us, we will definitely be returning, but more for the desserts and cocktails. The almond dessert was exquisite and the sangria was presented in a very interesting way, with a giant red wine ice cub in a glass.
Food and service were great, but it was very expensive for date night. We had 4 small plates (tapas) and one rice dish, bread, a bottle of wine and 2 other drinks, for $300 (including tip and tax). That was just too much.
Had a great, Spanish waiter. Food was great!
Just beautiful. everything was perfect! Will go again.
I felt the value for the food was way over priced for a Chelsea restaurant
We loved everything about Salinas except for the ultimate price tag, which was nearer to $300 than is ideal for two people who weren't celebrating anything other than a date night. That being said - we could have dined a little less expensively had we opted for cheaper wine and maybe one less small plate/dessert. The pre-dinner cocktail we had put us in perhaps an overzealous ordering mindset.
The restaurant itself is really great. Lots of small rooms with velvet seating that makes you feel like you've stepped back in time. It was mostly couples dining around us, although the bar in our area was packed the entire time, too. The service was great!
It was suggested that we order four small plates, one arroz dish, and one main dish (all to share, obviously), and we wound up ordering 3 small plates instead. It was plenty. If you have a larger appetite, perhaps 4 would be necessary, but we walked away very satisfied with what we had eaten. For small plates we ordered grilled razor clams, a tuna dish, and a duck salad. All prepared impeccably. We ordered the duck arroz dish, and it was so delicious- I wish I could recreate it at home. For the main, we ordered the fish special, which was half of a whole fish, served with face/tail "for presentation" with a garlic sauce that would burn your socks off. It was great, but definitely not conducive to any immediate hanky-panky afterward.
We did wind up splitting a dessert at the end - our server told us that people either love or hate their desserts because they're all focused on "sweet and salty combination," but fortunately we loved it.
We made our reservations for Saturday night the Thursday before, and at that time they only had seatings available for between 5-6 PM or after 9:30 PM, so we went with 6. I imagine if you're looking for a prime dinner time slot, you should prepare in advance.
Ambiance was very romantic and they provided good service. Waiters were nice and patient to explain each deal. There was a bar but it was not noisy at all even if you were seated next to the bar table. But they didn't have many options for main meals, and the steak plate was fixed for 2 pounds, which could be too much for some people.
We come into Salinas every time we are in NYC and never fails us. Great food, drink and lovely atmosphere . The hosts and servers are top notch. Always an amazing experience!
The food was outstanding, very authentic. Next time we will do more tapas.
The lighting is a bit dim. Overall a very good experience.
Great food, great people, the owners are very approachable and pamper their patrons.
The service and food were top notch. Highly recommend
Beautiful setting, great food, knowledgeable staff, wonderful and responsive service. We had a delicious and ennoble evening!
Super recomendable
Amazing food !!! Service was perfect !!!
This is beautifully designed and distinctive looking restaurant with cozy nooks and beautiful lighting. The tapas menu was wonderful and the execution was first-rate -- every dish was absolutely delicious, fresh, and original, and I'm a picky foodie! Our server was very professional and did a great job of getting everything out to us in a timely way so that we could eat at a relaxed pace and still make an 8:00 pm show at the Joyce. I will definitely go back and I heartily recommend Salinas!
Loved! Great food. Good portion sizes for value. Tasty. Super fresh. Dessert on point! Wine bottles very expensive
Overall great experience, a bit too tight of a space for me, but normal in NYC
Great food; friendly service! My friend and I both really enjoyed it :)
Excellent service and the food was delicious. The wine selection was great.
It's a very nice place to entertain clients. At first, we were greeted with a big smile from the host who provided a quiet table as requested. The server Daniel was excellent, so I gave him a huge tip to recognize his personal attention. However, I accidentally left a small gift bag from my client below the table, but when I called the restaurant the management said the item couldn't be found. It's my fault for leaving under the table and I will definitely go back and refer to my clients and friends.
You could never imagine how amazing the atmosphere is as you first enter. Everything from the layout, lighting, furniture, flowers and tables are perfect. The service is excellent and the servers are knowledgeable and friendly. The food is amazing and, while expensive, worth it. Certainly not overpriced - especially in NYC. Highly recommend.
I booked Salinas for my anniversary dinner because I was told it was romantic. It very much is a great spot for a romantic restaurant. We went the "let the chef take care of us" route where we simply told the server the types of food we like (e.g., cajun for me) and the chef made us an 8 course meal. The service was excellent. The food excellent and memorable. The atmosphere was perfect. They do the little things right such as not skimping on flowers. The place was loaded with fresh flowers. We paid a nice price ($400 or so total, including two bottles of wine) but it was definitely worth it.
The food and service was exquisite! Would highly recommend Salinas
Salinas never disappoints! Regrettably, we hadn’t been here for 4 years, yet everything was as good or better than we remembered. Our dinner was fantastic and the service was perfection as well. We recommend this wonderful establishment to anyone looking for a great night out!
Amazing! This place has such a cozy, romantic setting. Would love to come back in the summer when the roof is retracted. Food was absolutely amazing as was service.
