We had a wonderful dinner and the service was fantastic. I requested a corner table in the Garden room and was accommodated with our favorite seat. We have been to the restaurant before and we will be continued customers!
Every thing as expected and the way a dinner should be.
Amazing service and loved every dish.
Ambiance and Service excellent. Staff could not be nicer. Food creative, but it would have been nice to be able to order a simple salad along with the "creative" menu
More on the smaller side of restaurant size, but that does not detract from how nice the interior is. The garden room where we sat was really nice, and even though it was quite full it did not feel cramped or overly loud with people talking. The wait staff was very friendly and one of the hosts was very helpful describing the specials and made great food and drink recommendations. Drinks were well made, the food was great and paced appropriately. We didn't feel like we had to wait for any extensive duration for service. We were checked up on enough without feeling like we were being bothered. Overall awesome experience.
Salinas is one of my favorite places in NYC to enjoy a wonderful dining experience. Fine wine list.
We first had dinner at the restaurant about 8 years ago and although we don't reside in New York City full time we always have Salinas as one of our go to restaurants and have been back for dinner several times since the first time. Love the vibe!
Fantastic experience. Lovely room. Great food.
Excellent drinks and tasty food. Service was so-so at best. Took a long time to get a drink served, but food came out very quickly (too quickly). The main servers were below average in their attentiveness, but the food distributors and water-attendants very attentive. Would probably try something different next time.
Excellent meal and service thank you Garrett you are a great server!!
Bartender made terrible drinks while we waited 20 minutes for our table. When we were seated, after 15 more minutes, we had to ask the host several times if they could send over a server for us. When the waitress arrived, she saw the full drinks on the table and “knew that the bad bartender must have made them”...apparently they have a bad bartender and don’t do anything about it? Unfortunate that the paella needs 45 minutes advanced ordering and we couldn’t do that until about 40 minutes after our reservation. More unfortunate that it wasn’t any good.
Sympathetically, our waitress told us “I would’ve compt the drinks but you already paid” to which we replied “we actually tried to carry the bill over to our table, but were not allowed”. The waitress awkwardly replied “oh right it’s Friday”.
When we ordered tapas to split, we tried paying extra for a 3rd scallop (there were 3 of us and we found out the serving was for 2). The normal thing would be to upcharge and give a 3rd, given the circumstances we expected the 3rd to be free of charge. Neither happened - we were told it could not be done because it would create a 4th unused serving.
At the end of the meal, when we said we did not want dessert and just the check, they brought over some sympathy sorbet. Wow...the efforts they went through to make us feel welcome!
Overpriced even if it was good. Definitely never returning.
Fantastic small plates—don’t hesitate to get the octopus with popcorn, it’s amazing.
Location is convenient and the servers are knowledgeable and attentive without being intrusive. But the reason to come is for the food. It is unique, it is presented beautifully, and it is delicious.
The food was fantastic. They sat us a little later than the reservation but they took care of us.
It was just fantastic in all respects. My two guests felt the same way and one person was vegan.
Very nice elegant contemporary twist on tapas
My two daughters and I had dinner at Salinas before a performance at the Joyce. Our excellent server took note of the fact that we had an 8:00pm show. The three of us shared the cauliflower and artichoke "tapas", then the En Costra del Calabaza, which is on the menu under "Arroces Y Fideos"; all were really delicious. We were seated in the very back room, which was so cozy with the fireplace. The food is excellent, the ambiance elegant, the service gracious.
It was a lovely dinner! The food was all scrumptious and beautifully presented; the wait staff were well-trained and friendly, and not the TOO friendly types you can get sometimes. No one asked us if we were still "working" on our food, which was amazing, since it happens all the time, and it's my pet peeve. The atmosphere is warm and it is clear that thought was put into the decoration (chic but comfortable) and efforts made to reduce noise through padding, etc. Highly recommend - would be very nice for a date!
Food was delicious! My only complaint was that they forgot to bring out the special appetizer that we had ordered. That being said, there was almost a 45 minute gap in between our first appetizer and entree. They did make up for it and sent dessert on the house. The mistake made me give 4 stars, other than that I would have given 5 stars.
One word describes our experience: exquisite. The service was warm and attentive without being intrusive. We ate three tapas and split an entree and it was enough food for the two of us. Add a bottle of wine and a dessert and the sum was a perfect, delicious and delightful evening.
Good atmosphere, very good service (although felt a bit rushed) but very over priced even for NYC
We had a 7pm reservation for Christmas Eve and were told that it was very important to be there on time because there was another confirmed reservation at 9pm. We didn't love that we thought we'd be kicked out, but understood that it was a busy night. We got there right on time, but then our table wasn't ready and we waited about 20 minutes. We were told to sit at the bar and they'd call us when ready. It's a pretty tight space and no one offered to take our coats (we had to ask after trying to manage holding them). The other reason this bothered me is because the bar area is tight, we felt that we should sit and order a drink. But we were going to order a bottle with dinner and hadn't planned on the cost of an additional drink. We ended up sticking with by-the-glass with dinner - which ended up fine. The good news is that we were not rushed at all and were not kicked out at 9 or at any point. Don't get me wrong -- we love this restaurant. The service is great, the food is amazing and we love the atmosphere -- though we wish the fireplace wasn't blocked by a group table. I just wanted to point out that the pressure to arrive on time was met with what felt unorganized and a bit uncomfortable. Still love it and we'll be back.
Food and our server were great. Loved the overall ambience.
My husband and I dined at Salinas for Christmas Eve, and cannot speak highly enough about our visit. The service was outstanding, food was some of the best we've had in New York, and the atmosphere was cozy and romantic. Cannot wait to return the next time we're in the city!
It was my first time here . We had reservation at 5 pm the space is very cozy. The food is amazing so it’s the wine. Price is worth it for what u get. I will def go back👌
I went exactly on my time but the table wasn’t ready so I have to wait standing for about 20 minutes, the place was very nice but the menu was limited and I couldn’t understand the description of each plate and there was no pictures and the portions were little
Excellent..loved everything.. which is a rare occurrence!
Loved the waiter who took wonderful care of us. Had the chef’s choice tapas. Food was good but more than we could eat. Next time will order a la carte
Its always good to come back . One of my favorite restaurants of all times
This was my first time coming to Salinas and while the food was a bit pricey, it was well worth it. It I went for a romantic evening and it was the perfect setting for a special occasion. The food was also very good. I enjoyed everything and would definitely come back again.
I came for a dinner date with my husband to celebrate his birthday. All I can say is excellent. Food was amazing, service was fantastic and the overall experience was absolutely great. We would definitely come back.
We had the artichoke appetizer, it was good but heavy. We had the empanada special it was very fishy. I was worried when eating it, but the crust was yummy & resturaunt had great reviews, so I ate them thinking I was picky... flash forward, I got sick as heck at 3am. We had the Bronzino dinner, it was delicious. My husband asked for a glass of wine, I said not for me, I will share his, the server poured me a glass of wine anyway. The atmosphere was sexy, trendy NYC which i loved, the food was good not amazing. It was a fun place but I would not suggest going there looking for a great meal, you should be more interested in a good scene, then the place is for you.
Cozy and romantic place with good service and great cocktails. The food menu was very interesting however all the plates we ordered were extra oily taking away from the flavors.
Very good dinner experience both in terms of food quality but also as service. Will come back.
Our third time at Salina, and it just never disappoints. The cuisine is elevated and reimagined Spanish tapas with larger plates available. While maintaining the essence of Spanish cuisine. The wine list is quite exceptional. Salinas will continue to be a dinner stop during our visits to NYC!
