   This was her second time dining at Salero. We were happily surprised the first time by how much we enjoyed both the siding, the service, and above all the food. I second time didn’t disappoint. We enjoy the unexpected and delicious food offerings that are seasonal. Will definitely be back.

   I chose Salero based on OpenTable listing it as "hot-pick" when I searched for restaurants on the Randolph Street restaurant row in Chicago. We hadn't tried a Spanish restaurant in awhile. The restaurant was near empty on the evening after Christmas. as soon as we sat, our waiter announced that the restaurant would be closing in a week. The employees all seemed melancholy, rightfully so. Our waiter was fabulous, the food was delicious, but it was a weird experience.

   Our waitress was very knowledgeable and courteous. Went above and beyond to make our dinner perfect. The paella was the best we’ve had in the States by far. Will go back for sure.

   In terms of Spanish food, I didn’t find this restaurant to be very authentic. The dishes were also quite expensive with respect to the quality. Furthermore, it is not ideal for vegetarians. The waiters were quite kind.

   Was a wonderful experience and delicious food! The cocktails were lacking I would stick to wine but variety of dishes offered was excellent. Medditerraen sea bass was fabulous!

   Went to Salero for the first time last week, to celebrate the holidays with a couple of friends who were in town. So we wanted a special dinner, and a place where we could actually talk to each other. But we didn't want to have to "dress," and we didn't want to spend a fortune either. Turned out, we found a new favorite restaurant. Great service -- friendly, attentive, and knowledgeable without being overly "present" or intrusive. And wonderful food! We shared a number of small plates, from tuna ceviche to chorizo-stuffed quail (sounds odd, perhaps, but was a marvelous mix of flavors and textures). Fresh ingredients, interesting flavor and texture pairings, lovely presentations. And we never felt as if they were rushing us just to turn the table. Altogether a fun experience and a great new favorite. Oh, and did I mention? Salero definitely won't break the bank!

   The food was just ok. Nothing was worth the price in my opinion. The paella was mostly rice with 5 shrimp and 10 very small musels. Good flavor but not worth $50. I wouldn't go back even though the service was great.

   I had eaten here once before and it was outstanding. Went back and had the tasting menu. A bunch of apps and the Paella. If you ordered everything individually it was cheaper than tasting menu. Very disappointing. I guess they are closing and don’t care.

    I've eaten at Solero a number of times, and knew it was about to close, so we took some South African friends visiting from Milwaukee. They were ecstatic, and I admit it was exceptional. It makes loosing such a gem even worse, and it will probably be replaced by some very expensive place (which will be able to pay the increased rent). West Loop real estate has become a problem.

    We LOVED Salero from the first plate to the last. We ordered the paella and a few small plates to round out the meal and each one was better than the last. Everything was perfectly seasoned, well balanced and just delicious! We highly recommend Salero. The food alone would be enough to bring us back but I have to mention the service which was amazing! Hands down, one of the best overall dining experiences we have had. And that's saying a lot! P.S. GET THE FLAN! :)

    The staff was exceptional. Warmly greeted by host Kevin who made sure we had an excellent time. Waiter was helpful with advice and descriptions. He was attentive to the right degree and let us linger while a group of old friends caught up for longer than usual. I like the menu options -- you can go big, go small or do a full courses meal. Food has a nice approach and great variety.

    Love this place. Really enjoy the Spanish cuisine and the service is always tremendous. It was too loud in there on Friday night - mostly the result of a few tables of partyers. Other than that annoyance, it was another enjoyable evening at Salero for our family. Well done.

    Salero is the perfect spot for a romantic dinner or a casual evening out with friends. The wine list is painstakingly curated and expertly paired with the delicious Spanish fare. The wait staff attentive, and they do a great job at making it feel like you're attending a big family dinner instead of dining at some random bistro.

    We love the cozy West Loop restaurant. Great for small plate sharing. Great service, nice atmosphere. Really like the high tables in the front of the restaurant.

    Always a great experience at Salero; excellent food and service! The paella is the best we've ever had anywhere, including Spain. The staff is very knowledgeable about wine (a wonderful selection) and menu, and very friendly.

    Food was great, waiter was good but we had a very unpleasant situation with another server. My wife suffers from heat flashes at her age and at one point we turned and so a young lady who served us and another server mocking and laughing at my wife. It was so clear that when she came back to table I pleasantly asked her age and let her know my wife’s condition never mentioning the “fanning”(not that I should have to offer an explanation but I wanted to see her reaction to my hinting we caught them). She stated “oh well I wasn’t laughing at you guys I thought it was cool she was fanning Herself”. Then she spun around and walked off. I still tipped %20 at the end of the meal because I don’t think the primary server was involved. It’s truly a shame because the food was great and the wine list superb for my taste. WE WILL NEVER RETURN. I didn’t like spending in excess of $250 including wine and tip for 2 people to be mocked and held in ridicule by a child.

    The food ingredients were used in unexpected ways and a surprise to one’s palate. Our server is very engaging, not rushed. She was able to recommend a good wine to go with our meal which she also recommended. The atmosphere is relaxed and cozy, good for quiet conversations and the place is clean.

    Fantastic dinner; love the new menu at Salero - the food is as good or better than ever and prices even lower. Started out with some excellent cocktails at the bar and then our meal was outstanding. Really friendly service. Look forward to returning soon!

    We must’ve ordered all the right dishes. The duck was tender, best I’ve had in a long time. The scallops were the best I’ve had. Only once had something that came close. Very complex. Tortellini dish was amazing. Dessert was simple but good. Chocolate cake with hazelnut, spiced apple, sour cream ice cream and toffee pour over. Will go back again. The value was good. Was expecting to spend above 150 before tip for one of the top 50 places in Chicago. Spent 132 for app, 2 small plates, 2 large plates, dessert, and 3 drinks. Will be going back.

    Salero was incredible! My best friend and I had come to Chicago for a quick 24 hour trip and we decided to go to Salero for dinner. I was so impressed with the atmosphere and the AMAZING food. Everything I had was even better than the next. The staff was friendly, service was great, & the drinks were strong. Seriously though, the food was so delicious I am still daydreaming about the perfectly paired flavors. We got the Spicy Spanish Olives, House Sourdough (the butter was phenomenal), Sea Scallops a la Plancha, & Mediterranean Sea Bass. 5 stars! Definitely will be returning next time I am in the West Loop!

    Dinner early on a Saturday 10.6.2018 with new menu--which is somewhat limited in choices at each category. However, we did find some creative dishes that were well-seasoned and prepared perfectly. Service was somewhat uneven (especially for 6pm), disappointingly our two main dishes (which we ordered together becuase they complimented each other) were served 10 minutes apart. Overall good experience, but am not in any hurry to go back -- too many better choices in the neighborhood.

    Very nice business dinner. We tried a tasting option of a number of different dishes and it was all fantastic. We also had two bottles of delicious Spanish wine. Highly recommend this low key spot on the west side.

    Got together with a friend we hadn't seen in several years. Food was delicious, service was very good (thank you Andrew), with nice atmosphere. Restaurant was busy (most tables were in use), but didn't feel crowded or too noisy. Would go back again.
