We had the Valtellina appetizer, Anelli, and Bluefin Tuna. The Anelli comes in a jar, novel presentation but not easy to eat. Sauce settled at the bottom, hard to stir. My husband asked to have the kitchen put it into a dish, then he really enjoyed his meal. Tuna was perfectly prepared, beautiful presentation. Highly recommend Sale Pepe.
Quality of service and food still are still 5 star.
Amazing Italian food. Incredible location.
Perfect place for foodies.
Booked our table over a month in advance after reading reviews and to ensure we had a great table by the edge with a beautiful view of the ocean. We purposely made our reservation for 7:15 pm so we would be able to watch the sunset. Apparently, everyone else in the restaurant thought our location was great, too, because we were swarmed by people who have apparently never seen the sunset or have any respect for personal space. I was elbowed in the head by a lady posing for a photo and my husband had someone’s butt right in his face. We actually had a couple wedge themselves between our table and the balcony rail so they could take a photo. Food and service were great but I won’t go back if it is near sun down.
Lovely place. Very nice staff and terrific food
Enjoyed the whole experience and will come again
My wife and I were visiting Marco Island and decided to give it a try. It's a high end Italian restaurant. We were a little out of our element but our waitress was very helpful and enthusiastic about the food. She had many great recommendations. The whole restaurant staff was very friendly and attentive.
Everything was perfect. Don't expect to be in and out quickly.
Service with a smile was impeccable, as well as all the food and wine. *Highly* recommend if you are on Marco Island.
Five stars aren’t enough to demonstrate how much we loved our experience. Wait staff was amazing. Food presentation and quality was superior, and the view from the patio breathtaking.
We go at least 4-5 times a month when we’re in Florida...best service and food on Marco Island. Don’t let the fact that the restaurant is located in a hotel...great wine list and everything is moderately priced.
We enjoyed our meal and the restaurant. The salmon was very good.
The ambience and views were spectacular. Very high end bar and bar menu which was thoroughly enjoyed. However dissatisfied with the option of just one special for the evening. In addition, my salmon was very undercooked and over salted, and smelt extremely fishy. After a failed attempt to recook it, they kindly removed the dish and generously gave us desserts in attempts to compensate. Would still give it another chance given it’s beauty and atmosphere. Other dishes we had tried were great including the homemade pasta with Bolognese sauce.
Unique Italian dishes that were outstanding. Impressive wine list. Service started off good but then hit a stand still; tables that arrived after us, left before us. We’ll try again when we return.
It was a wonderful evening and will be remembered as one of. Our very best.
Terrific views, wonderful bartenders, superb service and delicious food. Our favorite place in Marco!
Noisy group next to us! Food perfect, wines top, hospitality super
- Elegant Dining rooms in Italian classic design plus outdoor dining with ocean view
- Polite and well-trained service staff
- Creative cuisine coupled with outstanding presentation
- Maintaining a high standard for the years we visited during our Florida vacation
Sale e Pepe continues to be a very good restaurant and really the only high end one on the Gulf on Marco Island.
Fantastic dining experience, best restaurant on the Gulf Coast.
Le seul problème , le restaurant n’avait pas notre réservation??? C’est la deuxième foi que ça arrive avec Open Table???
Once we got our table reassigned from the bar to the dining room, all went swimmingly
Food was delicious and service was perfect
Beautiful outside dining
Attentive wait staff
Food was amazing
I would just like to see a few more California wines available by the glass.
Look forward to going back
Just ok, limited menu.
The food wS good bit the service wAs terrible for the 3rd time this season.
It has lost it feeling of a special place to be.
Our food was so wonderful! Not overly fussy, beautifully presented, nicely paced and delicious! They had just received fresh white truffles and they were shaved on top of my risotto! Our wine was wonderful and really well priced! Bartenders were absolute magicians!
Food and service impeccable
Vacation. Beautiful decor. Reminiscent of Italy. Excellent food and wine list.
Great food and great service
Great location, excellent wine list and menu.
We go every year while on vacation and always love it. The service had dropped off a bit this time which is unfortunate ☹️
Say outside. Beautiful views with gorgeous weather. Seated promptly. Very attentive service. Food was spectacular. Only negatives, wire loud making conversation difficult and a fixed 18% gratuity even for a party of two.
Unbelievable sunset views
Restaurant was nicely appointed with a great sunset view. Food was very good but overpriced. I was very disappointed after leaving expensive sunglasses on the table and unable to retrieve them as they “disappeared”.
Rado (Bartender) was fantastic. Stan and Gail (servers) were phenomenal. We did dealers choice with Stan and he amazed us with what he served us and the wines he paired with it. We are going again our last night on the island. That is how great it was.
Marco our waiter was delightful and attentive. Food was great. Ambiance too
I have been to Sale e Pepe on other occasions and it’s one of my favorite restaurants on Marco. However this dinner was exceptional. From the Hostess, our Server Federico, and our Sommelier the service we received was impeccable. Chef Antonio’s menu, presentation, and delicious food makes it an amazing dining experience .
Great food, wonderful presentation, outstanding service.
My wife and I had a wonderful lunch on a Saturday afternoon. A tremendous value considering we were on Marco Island. She had an eggplant sandwich in focaccia bread with salad, delicious. It was very large, came with choice of mamossa or Bloody Mary. $14, really! I had a sausage with peppers on a roll with macaroni salad and a Bloody Mary, $13,really. We decided to go back on Sunday for an anniversary dinner. We knew that the dinner menu is much pricier than lunch and very upscale. Our server, Mahala was extraordinary in all aspects. We started with drinks, I had an Italian Gentleman which was surprisingly good my wife had a cosmo, also good, drinks are a little pricey at about $16 each. Then ordered a beef tenderloin tartare, very good and very small of a portion. We ordered a kumato tomato with burrata salad, delicious but only two small tomatoes. My wife’s entre was Branzino Sea Bass, I had, the memory of Osso Bucco which was tagliolini pasta with braised veal and fennel sausage. The entres were very good but the pasta dish lacked quantity for the price. We had a chocolate soufflé for dessert with coffees. We were presented an annniversary desert as well which consisted of five each red and black raspberries, two large chocalate dipped strawberries, two chocolate truffles, two small dark chocolate candies and two small biscotti’s. We spent about 2-3 hours enjoying the ambiance. We were seated outdoors on the patio in the front facing the gulf sunset. One major problem, we did not get to enjoy it because most diners came out and stood in front impeding our view. Overall, it was an especially enjoyable lunch and dinner. The restaurant itself is very elegant with much marble. A great value for lunch before 1:30 pm. Dinner, although delicious and presented wonderfully is very expensive with small portions. Waitstaff are excellent. Would do lunch many times again. Dinner, however, would only be on special occasions.
The view from this restaurant on Marco Island is spectacular at sunset over the gulf. Outdoor seating is wonderful. However, on this occasion a very large group gathered inside at the bar come out for the view blocking the view of the beach, gulf and sunset for all those diners seated outside. Never had this happen before. These folks were downright rude, shoving their way around tables to line up along the wall overlooking the beach and gulf. We'll still return but hope we don't have this experience again.
Celebrated wife’s 80th Birthday, with our 3 adult children. Very enjoyable. Our waiter, Marco from Milano was excellent!
Request an outdoor table at sunset. A unique dining experience.
