Don’t know why it waited so long to try this lovely restaurant. Choice one- casual, formal or outside seating. I chose formal as I was looking for quiet. Sparkling it still. What a view overlooking the Gulf at some set! My waiter Augustine was enthusiastic and attentive but not overbearing. Recommended the crudo of the day- tuna with avocado mousse and a hint of chili oil. Wines by the glass were plenty and more interesting than usual- many from Italy. Then there was shaved truffle fresh porcini risotto, and seared halibut fish special with breaded grilled fresh artichoke hearts. The sear was crisp, fish still moist , and just a hint of a white aioli type sauce to complete. Had leftovers too.
Can’t wait til they reopen dinner for season. FYI it’s in the very back of the Marco Beach Ocean Resort and offers complimentary valet parking.
Always an exceptional experience!
Pity that it is closing for the season as it serves the best food on Marco Island. Can’t wait for its reopening in October. .
We sat outside , Beautiful restaurant enjoyed watching the sunset . Food and service were spectacular !! Can’t wait to go back
Our weekly destination for an outstanding meal. Sad that it is closing for the season.
Loved the food and the view!! Bartender was incredible
Excellent experience. The staff are exexcellent, food was delicious.
It was great but disappointed one of the waiters did not properly wear his mask as i expected
Excellent dinner. Menu was very limited from previous experience, but the food was excellent. Service took a little long, but server was excellent. Food just took a little longer than expected. We were all very happy with our experience. Can’t wait to go back!
Whoever has not eaten here before, should. It is by far the best restaurant on Marco Island. The experience is unsurmountable from the minute that you enter the premises. You are greeted by the most wonderful, and helpful valets. You pass a beautiful Italian fountain and progress into an extensive sitting area followed by a comfortable bar, fine dining, and the most spectacular view of the ocean and sunset in their outside seating. The staff is multicultural, diverse, and fun to get to know. My favorite part is the bar, and in particular, the bartender Boris. He makes the most unique drinks, and more importantly, is consistent each and every time. Beyond that, he’s an excellent server, fun conversationalist, and makes your evening a delight. And beyond all of that, the food is authentically Italian and delicious. I have never had a bad dish from starter, to maincourse, to desert, everything is sublime. Don’t forget to try their chocolate martinis. They are dialectical. Enjoy! You will not be disappointed.
It was our first time and it amazing
Service was great
Food was delicious
Place is first class
Great service, specially by Boris! We were celebrating our 31st year anniversary and the chef made a special pasta for me that was delicious!!! The view from the terrace is amazing!!!
We enjoyed another outstanding evening at Chef Andrea’s table. Service was likewise on a par with the very best you can expect for this resort area. We urge you to go before they close for the season sometime in August.
Amazing food, service and wonderful sunset views from the grand terrace.
Flies everywhere, all over table and even in our food. It was disgusting. No netting or efficient candles or anything preventative to keep flies away. I have dined outside many times and in many places all over Florida and all over the world, and I have never had this issue.
Yet again another five star evening during these pandemic times. Staff was masked and the tables were separated appropriately. The menu was phenomenal and Chef Andrea visited our table as the ultimate host. The breeze kicks up in the evening and with sunset after 8:15pm book a later reservation to top off the ultimate evening.
Very nice place
We will be back
I have eaten at Sale e Pepe several times in the past, and every time i eat there it's an amazing experience. My family and i visit Marco Island quite frequently, and every time we go, we plan on eating there. From the cleanliness, the food, to the service everything about the place is amazing. I would definitely recommend Sale e Pepe to anyone.
The food at Sake e Pepe is superb and the service excellent as well. It’s terrace dining is very sought after for its gulf views and sterling sunsets. Just go and enjoy. Check out the menu on its website and then ask your very knowledgeable server to explain in detail how each item is composed, prepared and served. They take great pride in doing this for their diners. It’s our favorite Saturday Date Night destination.
Very nice place for a romantic date, specially sunset time.
Nice sunset. Food and service is average. Decor is elegant. Overpriced.
Great night, great view, great waiter/bartender
overpriced for mediocre food very disappointed
Love the old world feel and the attentive staff. The food was excellent and not the same run of the mill recipes for example the burrata was served with pears, nice touch
Will definately go back
Amazing dinner. Food was incredible. Wine was amazing. Staff was attentive.
Loved our waiter. Food was absolutely amazing. Would definitely return.
After hearing so many great reviews I decided to take my friend for her birthday. Food was not that good, service was awful. For some reason the manager was serving and coming to every table except ours. I guess because we bought individual glasses of wine which we had 2 each. I specified when I made my reservation that it was a bday. After no one was coming to our table I got the check and the. Waiter brought a desert with a candle that he could not light and he just left it at a table with no forks. Just horrible. So disappointed. Special fish was dry and muscles weren’t fresh. So all in all bad experience never going back.
Due to the distancing restrictions we were seated at a small table in front of the bar. Nearly the entire time we were at dinner the waiters and bar tenders were making ice and it was very very noisy. They did not seem to have any awareness of the fact that we couldn’t even hear each other talking. Other than that the service was good. The apps were great. The roasted chicken main dish was ok. Small portions for the price. I would try it again but for this visit would only give it 3 stars.
Sale e Pepe by far has one of the nicest restaurants on Marco Island. Elegantly decorated, this establishment located on the gulf will amazing views. Service is always top shelf. The portions are fairly sized, but the menu is limited and pricy. You are paying the views and service, which may or may not be worth to you. I will go back, but it’s more of a special occasion place for me than every day dining.
We’ve been here many times and have recommended to our friends because we think it’s so special. Tonight everything was great except the service. We were so disappointed at the service level that we couldn’t believe we were in the same place!
Father’s Day and birthday
Dined Outside - Pleasant with Great Views of Beach, Gulf, and Clouds.
Halibut Special With Lentils was Indeed Special.
Father’s Day limited menu with good choices. Socially distanced with my favorite view. How could you go wrong?
This was my 4th time at Sale E Pepe. The ambiance and view are spectacular. We have always enjoyed the food there, so we were looking forward to a wonderful meal. I am sad to say we were very disappointed today. When a restaurant is as expensive as this one, you expect exceptional food and service. The service was okay. Our waiter was being trained and tried his best, but dirty plates were left on the table a bit too long.
I could deal with minor service issues, what I won't excuse is the food. The menu was very limited, so there wasn't a lot to choose from. There wasn't anything that my husband wanted to order. The special offered today, Encrusted Haddock over lentils was dry and not tasty at all. If you wanted a salad, it cost extra and so were any vegetables to accompany the Haddock. The Ravioli with Pesto and Smoked Cherry Tomatoes did not taste freshly made. They were dry and not enjoyable. I ate two and left the rest. The Frito Misto was good and the Pear Salad wasn't bad. The filet mignon was cooked appropriately, but it was a very small piece of meat, yet they charge $50.00 for it. This wasn't the meal we were expecting on Father's Day.
When we received the check they added an 18% "Service Charge." They charged us sales tax on the service charge. Had we been permitted to just leave our customary 20% tip there would have been no sales tax added on. I know that in some restaurants when there is a larger group dining together that it is the norm to add an automatic tip. There were only three of us dining, so I don't know why we were told how much the tip was supposed to be and that we had to pay sales tax on it.
I don't think we will be going back there anytime soon. It is too expensive to be served food that isn't exceptional. I don't normally take the time to review restaurants, but I felt strongly enough about what we experienced today to take the time to do this.
Always a great time. Beautiful sunset on the patio. Everything was top notch. The food & wine the BEST. And the Staff always does a superb job!
We sat outside I was worried it would be hot and uncomfortable. There was no need to worry the night breeze and dining al fresco was priceless.
Great food and service highly recommend.
Amazing place for a special occasion. Beautiful views and amazing food. Only took off for lack of mosquito control in outdoor area and night. I was eaten alive. Which is to be expected and there's only so much you can do about that so overall I would definitely recommend.
Food and service excellent. Definitely a comfortable feel in the middle of COVID-19.
Great food. Excellent service. A little pricey
Food service ambiance were great
Sunset while dining was incredible
