Everything was superb. Especially enjoyed the friendliness of our server Antonio. He was pleasant, professional and a joy. The food and wine were outstanding.
Only go if nice weather. They need a menu with more choices. We have always loved this restaurant for the food, service and atmosphere. Just was not impressed for the birthday I planned for 9 people. Will try again.
Beautiful restaurant, view would be fantastic but it was dark at 7:15 when we ate. Bet the sunsets would be great in the summer!
Service was impeccable. Neb was our waiter. He explained all the dishes, was attentive, and timing of dishes was perfect.
We had the one of the Crudi offerings - sashimi style trout - was fabulous; Autunnale salad was very good; Branzino and Ravioli al Basilico for entrees we’re prepared perfectly!
We had the Lingotto al Cioccolato for dessert - excellent.
Excellent wine list. Can work around food allergies.
We will definitely be back! Loved it!
Excellent from service to food. You will not be disappointed. Probably the best gulf front dining in SWFla.
Great as always!
Very nice buffet for a price fix buffet on Thanksgiving. Great outdoor seating. Worth the $$$$.??
Thanksgiving Dinner very expensive. View was beautiful, food good, service ok, price expensive.
We had been to this place 3 years ago and were extremely disappointed but decided to give it another try because we wanted to see a good sunset. It was our 25th anniversary and we figured it was not about the food. Boy were we surprised when we got our dinner. It was amazing! Apparently they got a new chef a couple of years ago, but we hadn't heard. He knows his stuff. We loved everything! The presentation, flavor and service was all just crazy good. We will be back soon! Only wish we didn't boycott the last two years since the new chef started.
Sale e Pepe is always outstanding! Food, service, ambiance always at the top. Just a suggestion - as this was my 70th birthday celebration -a cupcake would have been nice!
It was my husbands 60th birthday so I asked for a nice table, as we’ve been two other times and didn’t have good seats. This time we had a wonderful seat outside by the water which set the tone for the evening and we watched the sun set. Although the restaurant seating outside was full including two other birthday celebrations, it still felt quaint and romantic. Our server made sure we were not rushed. The food is always good but this time the food, wine and ambience made our night very special.
EXCELLENT ATMOSPHERE AND MEAL. The only downer was that they used to have a 2 for 1 happy hour; no longer available.
Fabulous food and service. Ingredients are favored from Italy with a mix of local options. Service and staff and 5 star and make a simple visit feel like an top notch experience.
The acoustics can make it hard to hear inside but noting to shy away from.
Make sure to experience the bar mixology also!
So glad we visited and thank you Vincenze for your masterful service!!!
Very disappointed. We were only in Marco Island for a few days, and selected this restaurant so we could dine outside and enjoy their well advertised terrace to watch the beautiful sunset. We made our reservation several days in advance of our trip, and specifically requested an outdoor patio table to enjoy the view of the setting sun. We made the reservation for 5:15, as sunset was to be at about 5:40.
I received an email from Open Table the day prior to the reservation to a gain confirm the reservation, which I did. However, on the very day of the reservation, the restaurant alls me to do the same - somewhat unusual. However, I confirm with them, and remind them that I have requested an outdoor table for sunset viewing. At this time - the real reason for the call comes out - they have a wedding taking over the entire outside deck - so our reservation was moved inside. They then proceed to tell me that the outdoor seating was a preference, but not guaranteed. This is true, however, I am confident that they were fully aware that their deck would not be available because they had a wedding booked when I booked on Open Table a week earlier. But no one told us.
So, with few options at this late time, I simply pushed the reservation back to 7pm, as there was no need to rush off the beach early as I no longer had my sunset views. Very disappointing - feels like a bait and switch.
Food was average to good - very limited menu. No soups whatsoever, one special appetizer and one special main course - and perhaps 3-4 options on the regular menu for each. Service happened to have been excellent - very impressive wait and bus staff.
Will not return.
Host and wait staff were excellent. Our waiter Vincenzo was very attentive and pleasant. Food was delicious and beautifully presented. Timing of drinks and courses was perfect-we did not feel at all rushed. Definite must-try when on Marco.
This place is amazing. The food, ambience, and service was outstanding. We can’t wait to go again next year. We celebrated my birthday here and I was not disappointed. It is expensive but worth a special occasion.
The menu had been changed prior to reservation, vegetarian items were not available. There was an event going on outside, I reserved a table outside for my anniversary, it was so loud I couldn’t talk to my husband and could not hear the waitstaff either. I would not recommend.
The food was less then expected but the service made it worth every penny! The attention and attention to detail was more then expected. The bread course was disappointing and the bread was not fresh.
Very limited menu, which was a surprise since we’ve been here many times previously and there were many more selections. It was kind of loud but for some reason our waiter wouldn’t speak up loud enough for us to hear the specials. The noise, by the way, was coming mainly from other waiters talking among themselves loudly (not a busy night). Food was okay. Pasta had a good, homemade taste to it, but it was served lukewarm. Limoncelli dessert was great. Highly recommend. And we sat by a window that was curtained off for a wedding party, so we had no view of the sunset. Maybe do some investigating before booking a reservation here.
This is one of my all time favorite restaurants. And once again they did not disappoint. I believe they have the best bolognese I have ever had. Sunsets are extra beautiful from here.
Too loud And the dress code was not enforced
Very limited menu. Poor value given how expensive this restaurant is.
Celebrating birthday while on vacation, friendly service and fabulous sunsets!
Delicious food but limited menu due to renovations Service very good. Overall very good dining experience and gorgeous sunset venue!
We went to Sale e Pepe for our anniversary. The service, food, and atmosphere were very good. However, the menu was very small due to a kitchen remodel. Although understandable, a full menu would have definitely been better. We were also told men had to wear dress pants and closed toe shoes. Since my husband hadn't packed either, we went to a store and purchased both. Then come to find out, there were several gentlemen wearing both shorts and sandals. This was definitely an inconvenience for us.
Spectacular spot for a romantic sunset dinner. Service is excellent and the atmosphere outstanding. The salads were delicious. Menu is limited but solid. Excellent wine list.
Incredible evening at this one-of-a-kind Marco restaurant. We would highly recommend this restaurant for a unique and delightful dining experience. Top notch service.
Food and Service are exceptional. Wonderful ambience with a View of the Ocean. Limited menu, pricey
Always a wonderful experience! Juan was amazing as well as everyone at Sale Pepe! Thank you all!
It was very delicious. The key lime dessert is a must!!! Highly recommend!!!
Food was mediocre, service was excellent and ambiance was good....thinking their kitchen renovation has affected the overall experience....
Menu was limited. Was not the same menu as on your website. Drinks were great as well as service. Atmosphere is great! Food was just ok.
We had a lovely dinner at Sale e Pepe. We dined outside and enjoyed the beautiful sunset. Our food was fabulous. I had a tasty filet and my wife had the fish. It was fairly priced for the level of food, service and ambiance. The staff was very attentive and nice. If you are celebrating a special occasion on Marco Island you should try Sale e Pepe at the MBOR.
It was girls weekend away, We wanted to go to a beautiful dinner to celebrate our birthdays. The menu is limited the presentation was beautiful. Our salad and appetizer was very good, the steak was fatty but tasted good, the branzino was avg. as were the side. The biggest problem was the wait staff, he was unprofessional plus our waiter could not open a bottle of wine, then spilled the wine into my wine glass and just said sorry and walked away, then the other waiter tripped over a chair in which caused plates to be thrown. It was not packed there was plenty of room for them to walk with their plates away from our table. And to top it off there was a private party in the room next-door and Partiers would come out onto the patio loud and drunk. I’m sure this is an Unusual circumstance but made for a less than perfect evening. On the positive side the hostess was wonderful
Food and service excellent
Our favorite special dining venue did not disappoint. Though it just opened and had a limited menu, our meal selections were all absolutely outstanding. We shared the Autunnale salad and it was amazing....crisped prosciutto squares, fall greens, pear, walnuts and shaved pecorino...perfection. Then we had the flounder and the tagliatelle with truffles and a poached egg and both were off the charts. The terrace cannot be beaten for its stunning sunset view over the Gulf. The service was not quite up to its usual level but was still solid. It is pricey, but worth it.
Double date. Beautiful sunset and excellent service. They go above and beyond. Gourmet cocktails hand crafted by charismatic bartenders.
Reason why Iwould not recommend the restaurant are: Whilst the food and the ambience was excellent the menu was extremly poor. 2 fish entres and practically one steak (although with different sizes) are extremely poor for a place like that. No specials were available that evening but even if there had been any it would have been too less. Prices were - even taking into account the charm of the place - exorbitant. Although the quality of the food was excellent, fish for $ 42,- plus 12,- for side orders is not worth the whole experience. Sitting outside with a wonderful view to the sunset is one thing. Trying to read your check without any light is another. Candles were blown out by the breeze and nobody would provide you with any e.g. little lamp gadget to help you figuring out whether your bill was ok. Hope this was not on purpose. Adding a 15% service charge without telling you and requiring the customer to add gratuity is somewhat disgusting and seems greedy. Being guest in Florida I don't no if that fullfills the requirements for restaurants by law. So putting all these facts together I would say we have made the experience once but if we would do that a second time is more than doubtful. I definitely would not make any recommendation to friends for visiting the place.
There was a wedding going on, which impacted noise level and service. Limited menu but everything we gad was delish!
