We had 2 items from 5 sections of the menu. This was recommended by the waiter, but a hassle to share. There wasn't an easy way to share most of the dishes, e.g., how to you share spaghetti. It is hard to pick up on fourth of the noodles. I wouldn;t recommend this approach unless the items are easily split.
Our table was terrible for service. The server kept having to reach over me to get the plates of the person next to me. Also, why do you ask the client - do you want clean plates after a course of shared plates? Do you, the restaurant, want dish remains to be mized with other dishes? GIVE US YOUR BEST EXPERIENCE.
Server didn't know how to pour the wine. NEVER fill the glass higher than the widest point. Better a little short that too high. I may get his at a bar where I wait in line for service, but not a restuarant with a bottle sitting on the table.
The merguez dish was not merguez at all. It was made with lamb, but I don't think there was any hint of the spices that make merguez - merguez. Either this restuarant doesn't know what merguez is OR I hope it is just a cook who missed the ingredients OR they ran out of it.
Below I have attached a picture of how the table was set (over and over again). The server had the tableware ordered differently depending on what side of the table you were on ??
Incredible restaurant. Food is some of the best I’ve ever had
We enjoyed our first time at Salare- the food was beautifully presented, and the flavors were amazing.
Best restaurant in Seattle! Well worth the wait! Chef Eduardo’s creativity is amazing!
Service and food were great! Highly recommend.
We have never been disappointed by the food and service and Salare. It is consistently delicious, inventive and the service is excellent.
Nothing but praise for what the talented kitchen turns out, and wonderful front of house team too!
Creative food sometimes successful and sometimes just weird. Plan to order 5 courses as portions are small. We had very long waits between courses.
I was excited to try Salare and overall I thought it was good. The flavors in most of the dishes I ordered were excellent. However the melon in the melon salad was underripe, and many of the dishes were colder than expected. With a few minor technical tweaks, this would have been an outstanding meal. Would try again.
2nd time at Salare, equally impressive both times. Didn't enjoy sitting at the front of the house by the door, would have preferred being in the back. Service and food was spot on. We'll go back.
Great staff, amazing food. I would highly recommend Salare.
Great food. Unpretentious.
Perfect in every way, lovely seasonal flavors, intentional ingredients, perfect service from walking in to walking out.
All the food was amazing except for the charcuterie and salumi board which was highly recommended by our server. Skip that, and you’ll leave highly satisfied!
Was a little disappointed seemed overpriced for the atmosphere and menu seemed very limited. The four of us were just okay with what we ordered.
The staff was very attentive and the food was incredible. We will be back for sure!!!!
We had a wonderful time at Salare! The food was delicious and beautifully plated. Each dish was exquisite in its presentation and taste. The service we received was friendly and attentive. We felt relaxed and enjoyed the experience!
The food was very good and the service was excellent. I had brunch there with a few friends. I have to say, the portions were so small, the reaction from everyone was stunned silence at first. There were two large men at the table (note - NOT overweight, just big). They were so hungry, we were forced to order a side order of toast, which was ridiculous anyway, since one of the orders contained sunny side up eggs! Who serves egss that way without accompanying bread? We also ordered a scone, which was also extra. We were starved. I can't recommend this place to anyone who likes to eat. Sorry.
Excellent service. Waitress was extremely friendly. Food was delicious.
Great food, could tell the head chef / owner have had European training since service was included on the bill and the waiters actually knew how to wait a table (don’t clear the table before everyone is finished eating. Don’t bring the bill before everyone is finished eating) unlike many other restaurants in the US in similar price range.
Could definitely recommend this restaurant to anyone because of it’s professionality, good cooking and ambiance.
Salare is a favorite. Dinners are wonderful for special occasions. We also enjoy the weekend brunch, which is just as delicious but more casual. The chicken hash and the benedict were both excellent this past Saturday.
We were visiting Seattle and had decided to make reservations for a date night dinner. We were especially excited because we made the reservations prior to the James Beard award announcements. The food was so yummy, clearly fresh and just the right sizes so we could enjoy starters, and entree and a dessert. The only disappointment was they were out of the divine looking special the guy at the table next to me had! And when we got the bill, we were stunned that it was not remotely as expensive as we’d expected! Overall a great experience.
Amazing food really lived up to the reputation. Terrific service was a wonderful plus.
Salare exceeded our expectations & was a wonderful dinner to celebrate our anniversary!
Ordered a G&T as a refreshing summer drink on a hot day -- worst G&T ever, didn't even resemble a G&T. They stated they make their own tonic syrup and then add "soda". Very disappointing.
$6 for less than 4 slices of bread.
Main dish was lukewarm, and the staff reheated it -- it was the best food item of the night.
I ordered the rosé 3 ways cocktail, which was delicious. We started with a half dozen oysters and a falafel dish, they were excellent. I had the duck, and my guest had the ravioli, and we shared the asparagus salad with dinner. He had coffee(very good coffee) with our dessert (can’t remember the name but it was the chocolate marshmallow s’more desert). Everything we at was excellent. I can see how they got their accolades. Service was friendly and knowledgeable, just took a long time. I would definitely return.
Unbelievably disappointing. Don't get the lamb shank. You will get the last piece of a tail bone and there may be three small pieces of meet inside a majority fatty tissue they call an entre.
Edouardo Jordan's restaurant is a bit out of the way for us (we live in downtown Seattle) but I would definitely go again -- and again. The decor is upscale Northwest, with big windows to let in lots of light, cozy tables that are just the right size, and just a bit noisy with all the hard surfaces. Service was attentive, informative, and friendly. And the food is innovative and delicious without being pretentious. I love the in season, locally sourced ingredients. The pasta with pesto and morels was delicious, and the halibut was cooked perfectly. My husband ordered the pineapple upside down cake; I have never been a fan of pineapple upside down cake but now I am! The flavors were amazing. I highly recommend this restaurant for a special occasion or just to experience wonderful food.
We had a 8:15 reservation but were not seated until 8:50. A little disappointing in that aspect. Once we were seated though, we had about 8 different dishes to try. Most of the dishes were excellent except for my main dish which was the duck. The breast seemed a little undercooked and that was the main feature. The rest of the food was good and the staff was friendly and helpful. It is definitely worth checking out.
Don't skip dessert and take a biscuit home for breakfast! Wow! It was a tough choice to make between all the amazing dessert offerings, but the citrus creme brulee was phenomenal! We LOVED the berbere meatball and the ravioli. Of the half dozen dishes we ordered, only the fish fry was a little uderwheling (a little confused that it was actually calamari with oddly sweet aioli). We loved sitting at the kitchen bar seating and watching all the beautiful dishes they crank out! Will certainly come back for next season's menu!!
The restaurant was nice and clean, decor was fun, with the standard cozy tables where you could hear your neighbor's conversations. We were there for brunch, while the flavors were great, portions were a little on the smaller side - not filling as one would like from a typical brunch. My appetite is on the smaller side so that was not a problem, but my boyfriend had to order 2 dishes.
Our server was very pleasant and welcoming and everyone we interacted with wished my mom a happy birthday.
Overall the food was good but when the menu lists lamb as one of the entrees you usually expect a sirloin or a leg or a rack. You don’t expect the neck. It was a little work and I don’t know if the ratio of bone to meat is supposed to make it more flavorful and that’s why they chose it but I couldn’t say that it was.
The ambiance was lacking in this instance (and many restaurants for that matter) because it was COLD. When everyone is wearing a coat and trying to warm their hands the staff should get a clue.
Service was great; multiple servers checked in on us at all times. Food was amazing. Specific cocktails were on point. Great atmosphere! We were very happy with our experience here.
The food is extraordinarily good. There's not a bite we'd have changed. It's a very loud place so you have to speak loudly to be heard, and the tables are very close together, be prepared to get to know the folks nearby. The service can best be described as drive-by. I presume because the restaurant is very busy, the servers don't linger. If you're OK with that, enjoy. If you'd like a menu item from a multi-James Beard award winning chef explained a bit more than the menu does, you'll feel like you're impinging. I literally had to snag the sleeve of a quickly departing server to tell her she'd dropped off sorbet w/o a spoon with which to enjoy it.
Wonderful! Food was creative and delicious. Loved the cucumber salad with halloumi. The casarecce with black morel mushrooms and hazelnuts was a great vegetarian option - felt special, not like a throwaway, "because we had to" meal as veggie options often are. The restaurant itself was beautiful, cozy, with unique touches. Oh! The S'more was amazing. Good idea, excellent execution.
With a fresh pair of shiny new James Beard awards on the mantle, a review hardly seems necessary. Absolutely every item on the menu here is worth your time. And since the plate sizes are smaller, I highly recommend sharing a bunch of dishes. House-made desserts close out the meal, so don't you dare forget to save space for that.
Very loud so hard to follow a conversation. Food was OK but don't need to return. Nice atmosphere, pleasant staff, value not great.
The food was excellent and beautifully presented...some unusual pairings of flavors. Definitely not anything I would cook myself. We sat at the chef's bar and thoroughly enjoyed watching the food being prepared. Unfortunately most of the restaurant was way too noisy for any conversation...where we sat overlooking the cooks it was barely manageable. Altho they would thoroughly enjoy the food, I won't be bringing a mini-reunion of college classmates, since we wouldn't be able to converse. I'm disappointed at that.
Salare is simply exquisite. Eyes widen and roll up into backs of heads. The craft of Eduardo Jordan and his staff is on display throughout. Just go.
