Four of us, one ordered the pork tenderloin and sent back as it was way to fatty, poorly portioned and cut. They comped the meal. also the steak tartare was just soso. The duck and veggie dishes were enjoyed.
Food experience is impeccable. This is a place for tasting ideas without aggressive seasoning and noise and hype. The service was excellent--the staff really seem to be enjoying themselves and are into delicious, beautiful food without fuss.
I have been wanting to try Salare for a very long time and finally did. I knew it wouldn’t be inexpensive, but I was excited.
I started the meal with their fingerling potato appetizer which they failed to mention had chilled jalapeños which was fine for me...but for the unsuspecting could have been disasterous. I loved it! Nice and crunchy with a kick. I paired that with their Manhattan. Yes please!
We sat at the bar looking into the cook space. The cook accidentally tried to serve us their cavatelli - but we hadn’t even ordered yet. It looked so delicious, that’s what my friend ordered (think a twist to a carbonara with differently shaped pasta, smoked ham, Parmesan, Brussel sprouts & cured egg yolk). I had their spaghetti with chicken curry, cashews, apricots, cilantro and duck cracklin’ gremolata. My dish sounded intriguing and it was amazing! I love a good carbonara, but my dish was our favorite.
We finished the meal with their Panna Cotta which was a light, multi-flavored finish to the meal. Not too heavy, but leaving the mouth with a sweet taste!
I will go back ... our table had 2 glasses of wine, 1 cocktail, 1 appetizer, 2 meals and 1 dessert and the bill was only $137 - which already includes a 20% staff gratuity. Well worth it!
Creative and delicious use of vegetables, such as the burrata with squash, apples, pickled vegetables and egusi (spicy pumpkin seed) sauce. Duck was prepared two ways, both great: roasted breast and jerk wing, accompanied by an unusual array of fruit and vegetables highlighted by chanterelle mushrooms. Servers were friendly and knowledgeable about the menu and wine list. Will definitely come back soon!

The food was very interesting, different ingredients and combinations, and delicious. Lots of interesting tastes and the sharing options ensure that you will have many tastes. A bit pricey but excellent.
The chicory salad and the halibut were delicious!! Our server was informative, helpful, and really fun. Also had a great negroni...just sayin'.
The menu was far more exquisite than the presentation and taste. The halibut crepe was simply a single cold, breaded piece of halibut loosely wrapped in a room temperature crepe. The cauliflower with grapefruit, fermented tomatillo, peperonata & the harissa barbecue sauce didn't taste any better than the roasted cauliflower baked from your own oven dipped in your favorite BBQ sauce. We had a third starter, but I honestly can't remember what it was...something like an overcooked, rubbery shrimp on an oversized crouton or something.
Since we didn't get to the main course, our waitress' demeanor soured. Not only was that unpleasant, but when we asked if she had any recommendations, she responded with "this is really good" and "oh and that's really good too." The cherry on top was the required 20% gratuity added to our half-baked meal for a party of two. Stay away from this over-priced and amateur establishment.

As many times as I have come here, it is always on point! Chef and his team (even when new staff is added) always do amazing things. The chemistry in the kitchen is awesome! The waitstaff is awesome. After almost 1.25 years, i still only have 1 complaint... when will the bar tender learn to service a 3/4 to full mixed short glass drink? If it is filled with ice and still half-full, come on... LOL
Yet and still the food is simply amazing. And Chef tends to buy whole and use 90%+ of the product in his foods. No i don't work for him, nor am I an investor. I just appreciate a chef and a staff that gets it right time and time again.
Though I've lived in the area for a few years, I've just now been introduced to Salare. Better late than never! The food is small plated but extremely flavorful and delicious so it's fulfilling. My friend and I chose two entrees to share for brunch and were happy we did. We've made plans to go back next weekend to try two more dishes! Don't pass up the daily scones or the buckwheat/quinoa pancakes. Yum!

Amazing food every time. I’m a frequent Thursday night diner at Solare. I’m treated well by a very knowledgeable waitstaff, the food is excellent and the wine selection good.
We enjoyed the tasting menu for our group of nine; it was exceptional from start to finish. Excellent service as well. Charcuterie and halibut were our favorites, and the chocolate stout cake was truly devine. Can’t wait to go back!
Disappointing lack of hospitality. Went for our anniversary—heard it was a “special occasion” place. Indifferent service, forgot our second round of drinks and barely apologized. Lackluster decor and overly loud. Entees ok but overpriced. Desserts were excellent but it really came down to the indifferent service. No goodbyes or thank yous. Spent almost $200 and left feeling meh.

We celebrated a birthday at Salare and it was perfect! Every single bite was a new flavor and they have a house made walnut liquor that is fantastic!

Expected more. Was disappointed. Quality of food prep & presentation was very good, but limited options, small portions, very pricey. Tasty, but not a good value, mediocre service: forgot our order, took a long time to check on us, delivered wrong order! Still 20% service charge added. Server Didn’t seem to know menu well.

The noise level was over the top and we had difficulty hearing table mates. Wine list needs more Washington wines. Food quality was not on par with prices.
GREAT dinner! My husband and I had been meaning to go to Salare for a long time and our first visit was so good. The staff was perfectly attentive and sitting at the counter seats was so entertaining. The food was creative and amazing. We can't wait to return.
I would like to comment on a very disappointing dinner which our family (party of 4)experienced at Salare on Sunday evening.
To begin the restaurant at 5:30 was very cold but the AC was turned off at our request.
Our orders of beef tartare and octopus to be followed by the chicory salads were served in an untimely order. the tartare was overly salted nod the salads overly dressed. The pasta which followed was also overly dressed.
Unfortunately what was to be a special occasion dinner turned out to be an expensive outing which should have been something special. We have dined here on other occasions and we're looking forward to another great meal. Too bad! We won't be quick to return . I hope that they can o better than this.
A number of delicious small- to medium-sized plates to work with to construct your own personal feast. What fun! And top quality, whether it's octopus, duck or sunchoke. $$$$
This is a great restaurant with a neighborhood feel. Much of the ambiance is due to owner/chef's warm personality and deep passion for what he does. Menu changes encourage multiple visits. On the noisy side, maybe the result of happy diners!

The food was fantastic, but the service was a real disappointment. The kitchen seemed to shut down for 40-45 minutes and we received no news or updates from our server in this time. 40-45 minutes between courses is not a great experience in an uncrowded restaurant.
The rockfish dish had many flavorful accompaniments that allowed every bite to be unique. Deliciious!

Great atmosphere and service. The food was wonderful at brunch. A few items were already out by noon but our selections were tasty and great. We loved the portions but I can see they may be considered small for a lot of people.

Salare is a great restaurant and should be on every ones list. The food was so good we returned the next day for brunch! If you are in the city of Seattle, do not miss this restaurant.
