Ambiance, food was great, service was excellent.
Will be back soon
Took a while for the server to get our order. Other than that, it was great.
Loved the Verde salad & eggs on toast w/truffles! The patatas bravas sauce was a bit overbearing on the spice & not as creamy as you'd expect. I prefer the aioli. Sangria was great and filled with a good amount of fruit. The décor inside is fabulous.
My favorite tapas place now. It is a bit loud and cramped so be prepared for that. That being said it's still delicious!
One of my favorite places in NYC after many years. Love this place and it's staff. If you ever have been to Spain, it will feel familiar.
The service was a bit slow but the food was very good and I hear the ham is to die for!
Four of us dined on a Saturday evening. We were seated early for our reservation. The restaurant was busy. Service good...not fast but not unattentive. We spent over two hours dining and never felt rushed. Sampled grilled octopus, asparagus, grilled shrimp, albondigas, fried goat cheese, and calamari. Seasoning was excellent. Despite rave reviews I felt the goat cheese was rather bland. The calamari was served as one large piece and was a little chewy but good. Red sangria is very good...dry and not overly sweet.
Reasonably priced and worth a visit.
This place is my go-to if I'm ever in the neighborhood. In this case, it was my birthday. It can get a bit noisy in the back, but up front is fairly serene. Staff is terrific. Happy hour is a real bargain. The tapas are delicious.
From the warm welcome to excellent food from a diverse, unusual menu, this hideaway was a great find. Worth a visit just for the dates wrapped in bacon!
Beautiful ambiance, comfortable space, helpful staff and wonderful food.
Great food! Fun atmosphere! Would definitely go again.
Had an early evening after work dinner with a coworker on a Tuesday. It was relatively quiet when I arrived and within an hour, it was packed. There is a happy hour there, with two bar areas. The tapas were delicious and about average price. Service was good as well.
The atmosphere is wonderful.
Our waiter, Carlos was attentive and informative. He helped to make sure we had a great meal, as well as ordering just the right amount of food. We look forward to going back.
I go to Spain every summer and this is 100% authentic. Excellent service and wine.
We arrived a half hour before our reservation and chose to sit at the bar which was very nice. Our waiter allowed us to order off the dinner menu even though we were still a half hour to go for the brunch menu. He was extremely helpful with wine selections allowing us to sample several wines before we decided on a bottle.
All the food, fish and lamb shank, was excellent. I will go back again. Very friendly staff.
Great place! Very authentic! The staff were great and the food was excellent. We will definitely come back.
Great Spaniard spot. Truly Spanish food, nice ambiance, good and attentive service. Super good sangria. My first time and only have nice words for them. Those recipes brought me back to my hometown. Highly recommend it!
My fifth time here...fantastic, as always! I’ll be back soon!
Had a great experience. The host /manager offered us a couple of tables to choose from.
The server could see we were chatting so told us to take our time.
Food is always good, especially the fried goat cheese.
I love how relaxed & friendly the restaurant is.
Yum! Our kids & friends love this restaurant. Stand out dishes are the meatballs (light & delicate), dates with bacon, fried goat cheese, Serrano ham & cheese, and the steak sandwich. The waitstaff is knowledgable & attentive - I described the wine I was in the mood for and got it.
food was delicious but acoustics were not good and so it is hard to have a conversation there. The one thing that bothered me was that when I made the reservation through open table I had said that it was a birthday celebration. My son wasn't feeling well and we decided not to have dessert because he wanted to get home. When I received the check, I saw there was a charge of $9.00 for a piece of cake. When I said that it was incorrect that we never ordered any, the maitre'd came over and explained that because of the "birthday" note on the reservation, they automatically add the price of a piece of cake to the bill!! They of course took it off, but in my opinion that was a totally a wrong thing to do.
Always cordial service with a feeling like you're in Spain. Wonderful tapas options. Delicious goat cheese, grilled calamari. For main course we had seafood paella... tasted as good as it looked. We all enjoyed as we have in prior visits. I highly recommend!
Came in for lunch with a discerning friend. We were both pleased by the quality and flavor of our main courses--and the value. Because we were short of time, we couldn't order the more elaborate dishes. Even so, our first experience was so good that we are looking forward to returning with high expectations. (Also appreciated the courteous and attentive wait-staff.)
Just ok... don’t bother going here
Excellent Food, friendly service. We love Sala. The Mon flamenco show is excellent.
Fried goat cheese was delicious but paella wasn’t very crispy
We attended Sala One Nine for my husband's birthday, and our dinner was fabulous! Last spring we travelled to Madrid, where we fell in love with the food. We wanted to find an authentic Spanish dinner to recapture our trip, and Sala One Nine delivered. The roasted lamb and rabbit were superb, the sangria was spot on, and the service was top notch. The host remembered all the details and made sure we received their best service. The Iberian ham brought us right back to Madrid. Thank you Sala One Nine!
Love this place!
Kitchen was closed because of a mysterious issue - but the sign outside said lunch was being served. It was weird.
Food at Sala One Nine was delicious, as always. Great restaurant and fun to bring friends to share/try all the dishes!
Absolute perfection, from start to finish. Celebrated a milestone birthday and enjoyed every minute (and bite!) The most authentic Spanish experience I've had since returning from a trip to Spain. Charming, cozy interior, delicious wines & food, friendly service...cannot recommend this place highly enough. Definitely get the scallops, goat cheese, croquetas, and most heavenly flan ever!
Great sangria, atmosphere, bread and fried goat cheese. Seafood paella was okay. Wasn’t crispy enough and thought the seafood tasted a little fishy.
The management was very accommodating to our large party. Waiter was great and efficient and as always the food was beyond delicious! Superb spot for a great night out!
fabulous welcome, fantastic food, would eat there every week if we could!
Sala One Nine gave us a lovely night out to listen to some excellent Flamenco guitar, song and dance. The tapas were tasty and delivered to our table at a reasonable rate so we could enjoy them without being buried in choices or left sitting waiting for another course. The service was attentive and professional.
Overall - the tapas were authentic and very good, but nothing really shined out in the cooking. However, the overall combination of food and music were a great way to spend an evening meal.
Its my second time here. I enjoy coming in Monday evening, when there is live flamenco singing and dancing.. We ordered small plates: croquets, shrimp,
Chorizo, brussel sprouts. Everything was tasty. My friend is very particular about Spanish food, and he enjoyed all of it. The flamenco performance was amazing. Its a thrill to see the performers up close. The staff is very welcoming and the place has a nice atmosphere.
Just one suggestion: the amplification of the music is way too loud.
Great food and top notch Sangria!
Tables too crowded, very noisy.
I would not go back
Great date night location - good wine and ambiance. We only had one tapa each and mostly drank. I had the fried goat cheese, which is the reason I come back here over n over. Only thing is pricing is on the higher end - goat cheese was about $15, which is a little too overpriced. Our bill for a bottle of wine and two tapas was $70.
