Sala One Nine Ratings and Reviews
Absolutely loved the decor and ambiance. The muted colors, darkened interiors with funky light - it was a cute place. The wine selection and drink menu was sizable and the wine was good. Prices were on par for the area. We decided to get different tapas to share. The tortilla espanola was delicious-just the way it should be. The goat cheese was creamy and paired well with softly roasted beets. The shrimp in garlic sauce were tasty albeit spicy. The patatas bravas were mediocre -too much spice but not roasted enough. Also, the octopus was forgettable - swimming in oil and and not to our liking. Overall it was a pleasant evening and service was good but I wish the food was better.
We've eaten here before and the food was much better. The tapas were fine, the paella was skimpy and burnt on the bottom --very disappointing. They gave us a nice table as it was a birthday and we requested someplace quieter. As it happened, there was live Flamenco the night we were there. The performances were great and the crowd was very engaged. Once our entree was served, we didn't see our server again until we asked him for the check. I'd go back again but with less enthusiasm than when I booked this reservation.
Great food. Nice selection of wines. Nice selection of tapas. All the food tasted great especially the bacon wrapped dates & fried goat cheese with honey.
I like the look of the place & the service was professional.
i think the music should be a little louder to help the ambiance.
The wine selection for happy hour was pretty impressive, and not the standard "house white" or "house red," which was a pleasant surprise. The bartenders were helpful, and attentive. The host, Serafino, was a delightful, accommodating man, that upon hearing it was our first time there, made sure to get us prime seating for the Flamenco show. He was engaging and encouraging, and made us feel very welcome. The food was outstanding: grilled octopus, goat cheese with drizzled honey, garlic shrimp, and the list goes on! I will definitely keep this place, and its welcoming ambiance, in mind!
It was very painfully noisy,, unfortunately the only word to choose for noise was Energetic, there should be another level for Too Noisy. The acoustics were not thought through as every bounced right of the walls. People just ended up increasing the volume of their voices because it was difficult to yourself speak, which added to the drafting and bothersome noise. The food was good and we managed to get a good bottle of wine which in fact I ended up purchasing a case of it on a wine app. Will I return? Perhaps when U can here again!
Overrated restaurant, boqueria nearby has tastier offerings. Below average food, very noisy and one dish was forgotten. When waiter was reminded that we had ordered another item he came back with it and no apology was given. Ordered the Pan con tomate which was bland and simple, the dates, the only good dish, the scallops which came late and were overcooked, the spanish tortilla, heavy and bland, the white asparagus was expensive for what it was. Margarita and Sangria were also disappointing.
Sala One Nine is a must in the area and a destination if you're a bit far away.
The atmosphere is always welcoming and warm. A true testament to its Latin flavors. The staff is always tops.
While there are too many exceptional dishes and drinks to mention, I will make special note of the sangria (red or white), the bacon wrapped dates, the garlic shrimp, and the paella. Order these for two and you can thank me later.
Flavor. Presentation. Value. You really can't beat Sala One Nine. 10+ year patron 👌🏼
