Paella was so bad. Seafood were over cooked. Muscles and calamari tasted like rubber. Over priced for such lousy paella. Everything in there were overpriced for what it is. They need a new management team because it used to be my favorite Spanish restaurant. Not going back for a while.
It all went well until I used the open table app to pay for dinner. The was a lot of confusion and we were kept sitting there for about 20 min without an explanation. They would not take my word for it, even though I had a receipt. Ironically, they were completely aware that I used the app to pay and it made them weirdly unhappy
We were disappointed that they did not offer the same $19 brunch special that appears on their website.
Loved it! Great food, service and very pretty spot on a quiet street in Flatiron District. Will definitely come back!
Dish was delicious, it was noisy so not for a romantic dinner, but great for friends' gathering.
As always, a top notch experience. The vibe, food, service always excellent. The Mon. nite Flamenco Inside-Out show is the best regularly occurring Flamenco show in town.
It was a great experience with amazing food and service. My only suggestion would be to do something about the noise level. Definitely not a date spot if you want to hear what he/she has to say!
Always delicious, always friendly.
Good food, fair to poor service, noise level unbearable- very difficult to have a conversation
Love this place! It's always fun, warm, and a great time. Great food.
We had the tapas and enjoyed every option we ordered! The bread and olive oil were such a good addition as well.
The food is amazing- from the beet salad to the grilled cauliflower, asparagus... all great veggies. The octopus comes 2 ways- both great. Chorizo was also delicious
Wine list is all Spanish and affordable.
The staff is attentive and the place is always busy but they keep an eye on your needs.
The happy hour from 5-7pm has the place jam packed and very noisy but grab a table in the back and eat up.
Love this place, best paella and the flamenco was just great.
I had the hanger steak and hand cut potatoes the steak was superb! I would come back again. The wine was also excellent.
Flamenco Night was great!... Great energy!
I had the most amazing time with my friends celebrating my birthday. Their paella is everything!!!! Gambas is to die for.
Nice interior, but it is EXTREMELY loud. I could barely hear the person sitting across from me. The food was fine, and maybe we ordered the wrong stuff, but nothing knocked my socks off. Weird service, our waiter took one of our menus about 3 minutes after sitting down and told us we only needed one.
Felt like we were in Spain. Loved every we had — stuffed dates, roasted beets, grilled asparagus, lamb chops and scallops. Enjoy a refreshing sangria and the flan for dessert.
My fiancé and I went here with another couple for dinner. It was a little louder than we hoped but we were still able to talk to each other.
We ordered the paella for two and three other tapas to share amongst all of us. My fiancé and I went to Barcelona for vacation last year and had the most amazing squid ink paella at a restaurant on the beach. No paella we have had in the states has come anywhere close to being as good as the one in Barcelona until this restaurant. We thought the paella was great. The fish was very fresh and it was not overloaded with tons of rice like most paella around here is.
We also ordered the potatoes, scallops, and octopus. The scallops were delicious. I have tried a octopus a few times before and have never liked it. But I gave it another try at this restaurant and thought it was great. I would definitely have it again.
Service was also great and we didn’t wait very long for our food even though the restaurant was completely full.
Thank you for a great experience. We will definitely keep this restaurant in mind for future dinners and recommendations to others.
nice vood real spanish food good service a bit noisy but americans are loud always and everywhere so that is hard to avoid
Great food and ambiance! Fast service with an amazing menu.....
Food here was delicious. Extremely authentic to Spain and the wine was so outstanding! Will be back frequently
We just got back from Spain, so we were super picky. We had the solomio, pulpo gallega, patatas bravas, Gambas ajillo, and the bellota plate. Everything was tasty, but I didnt see the value in $13 for patatas bravas.
Fun delicious great sangria
Great food and very authentic. It tends to be a little loud - so I'd say a little difficult for a first date. It could have been due to where we sat. Other than that excellent!
We loved the food in there, we had shrimp with garlic (gambas al ajillo), chicken and meat. Everything was delicious and the beer was cold as it should be.
Solid tapas, bit overpriced. Sangria was very tasty. Food very savory, but thought it would be a bit more traditional.
The staff was very friendly. The food was delicious. And the atmosphere was great.
The food and service were fantastic , as always. My dining companion were allowed to sit and chat long after our meal was cleared from the table without feeling pressured to leave. As an added bonus, it was flamenco night!
Yummy food, attentive service, delicious Sangria. What more do you need at a Spanish restaurant?
Delicious. Excellent ingredients! Excellent service. Will go back!!
Too damn noisy!!!
Even though the restaurant did not think I showed for my reservation, I had a great dinner with great serve. Spectacular grilled pork!
Amazing food, great service. The owner was very friendly and kind.
We arrived about 20 minutes before our reservation. They took us in right away even though the house was almost full. The food came pretty fast. Everything we ordered was delicious. The flamenco performance was captivating. We truly enjoyed our time there and highly recommend this wonderful restaurant.
This was our first visit to Sala One Nine. I reviewed many Spanish restaurants before choosing this restaurant. We wanted to have tapas like the ones we tasted in Spain in May. Sala One Nine had the best menu choices. Everything was delicious! The staff was very attentive. The ONLY issue I would bring to your attention is that $44 for a small pitcher of sangria is excessive. We will be back.
All the tapas we had were great, especially the Tortilla Espanol and the Meatballs. Gave the food 4 stars only because our Paella Marisca was very salty. I told the waiter and he informed the manager. They offered to make us a new one, but it would take them 35 minutes. We declined, but then the manager said he would take the paella off our bill, which I thought was above and beyond. He didn't have to do that and I thought he handled it like a pro, hence the 5 stars overall. All night, I watched them treat customers with the utmost respect and professionalism. We stayed for dessert and had a wonderful creme brulee.
Very noisy bar scene but once the dinner hour approached things were more quiet. Lots of food to share with friends.
Best for a meal of "small bites" than dinner entrees.
Friendly, attentive service.
Very laid-back, no rush place.
Will definitely go back.
I've lived in NYC since 2002 and this is my favorite restaurant despite trying hundreds. Thank you, Sala 19 for so many good meals.
