Consistently great food, always good service, easy parking, quick drop off at front door for easy entry.
Amazing hot n sour soup, kung pao chicken, soup dumplings, fried rice and sushi. We will definitely be back. We were pleasantly surprised! Excellent service also!
We met friends there for lunch, the guests came late,
However, the waitress chatted with us, and very patiently
for our order, she was courteous, considerate, very accommodating !
Overall it was ok. Don’t think I will come back.
Excellent food. General Tso’s chicken, orange beef, California roll, buns and wontons were excellent, so was bubble tea. Friendly and helpful staff.
Excellent food! Would definitely go back, just for the food. Service not so good. Harried waitress was trying hard to serve many tables, so we asked two other servers for water after about 15-20 minutes, but they never did anything. Waitress was apologetic, but probably not her fault for having too much to do.
We had a great time at this restaurant. Loved the food, reasonable prices, and friendly staff.
Food was amazing! I will be going by back!
We ate at Sakura after attending an event at the convention center and it served up everything we needed. The food was very tasty and fairly priced. We were served complimentary hot tea when we sat down, which was appreciated. One of our dishes came out about 10 minutes after all of the others, but that was the only real negative, and happens. The waitress was apologetic when we asked for it and got it to us quickly once we alerted her that we hadn’t received it yet. The location was also great for a quick spin around Chinatown to walk off our meal.
Great food, good service but it is BYOB ( they will give you glasses for your drinks).
The soup dumplings and the 麻辣香锅 (stir fry hot pot) are delicious, I would recommend them.
We had a quit round table for 8 so we were able to hear each other. We were able to park on the street (kiosk prices). BYOB saves us a lot on money and they heated the sake for us! We’ll come back!
Great soup dumplings, okay sushi. Packed and lively.
THE GO TO SPOT
Always consistent quality, Sakura is the go-to for any soup dumpling craze that comes about. Cheap, excellent cuisine and of course BYO. My favorite for Asian in the city!
Excellent Chinese food near the Convention Center. It’s a byob, so byob! Great dumplings. Wide array of other Chinese dishes. Great service.
This is my go-to restaurant in Philly for Asian food. Everyone has something on the menu that they like. Also, the prices are fair which is helpful as a student.
Good and friendly service and clean overall. Easily located
Friend of mine to me to this restaurant several years ago, when we took a day trip to downtown Philly, I would like to go back to this restaurant again since I had great experience before, well it was totally worth it, the food’s quality and service were still stay the same, and they are more busy than before, pls make reservation before you plan to go.
Best Soup Dumplings, Dandan noodles and Scallion pancakes I have ever had in Philly. Can’t wait to return and eat more. It’s also very affordable.
We loved their soup dumplings and Sushi- many options so hard to make a choice. Very friendly staff. Was looking forward to the pot of hot tea they provided after watching the fireworks on the waterfront on such a cold night. Nice crowd- good vibe. Will definitely go back.
We thoroughly enjoyed our meal which included a variety of Chinese dishes and sushi. Our party of four ordered a variety of dishes to share and some of us were happy to have leftovers to take home. It was not overly crowded for an early dinner on Saturday evening. The service was friendly and efficient and our server was patient in answering our questions about dishes we were unfamiliar with.
Very extensive menu, serving dim sum, noodles, soups and sushi/sashimi. The noodles, fried rice and rolls were delicious.
Taking my mother for Thanksgiving... the food was terrible!! She ordered Pad Thai that taste of nothing but onions. I ordered Dim Sum dumplings that were filled with broth (I had to come home to N.Y. to have the real stuff). The servers rushed us along, not before checking to ensure that a decent tip was left (I always tip 20% or higher). This place is tacky and tasteless. I wouldn't host my dogs birthday here!
Wow where do I start. The service was horrible. We got our appetizers about 20 minutes after our entrees. The food was fair at best. Very disappointing for a 4.4 rated restaurant on here.
All good except for the spicy beef. It was, I think, poorly described on the menu. The beef was nice and spicy but was rather overcooked such that the natural beef flavour had been lost.
Sakura Mandarin is one of our favorite restaurants. The menu is mainly Chinese but there is also sushi which satisfies our family members who prefer sushi to Chinese food. The soup buns are exceptional. The ambience is lovely and the service excellent. It is easy to bring a large group and very good value.
Great Chinese & Japanese food! Exceeded our expectations, very reasonably priced.
Me and my boyfriend came here after the flower show! We had the scallion pancakes, vegetable dumplings, spicy tuna roll, shrimp tempura roll and pork fried rice! It was all super delicious as always! Everyone here has always been friendly and welcoming to us! Thanks for having the best Asian food ever!!! We will definitely be back❤
The crabmeat/pork soup dumplings had a very tasty broth but it was the filling that was outstanding. The Shanghai Street Noodles were delicious with just right amount of heat. The service was friendly and very accommodating. We will return to this Chinatown restaurant in Philly during our next visit.
We love coming to Sakura. The food is always excellent and the service friendly! Pricing is reasonable and it's BYOB!
Great food but be ready to wait and rushed in an out on a weekend... despite the service it's worth it excellent food and great prices
Food was pretty good and fast service once we were seated. We ordered soup dumplings, edamame, crispy salty duck, drunken noodles, beef noodle soup, and sautéed beef and string beans. The restaurant is BYOB, so I will definitely be bringing it next time. We also ordered a strawberry and mango bubble tea which was delightful.
Have been wanting to try Sakura for a bit now. Finally when I saw they were on Open Table we decided it was time to go. Made an Open Table reservation, received our confirmation email and all went smooth until we got there and nobody there had a clue what Open Table was and how I even made a reservation, since they never heard of it.
Well besides that the good was good and the pricing was good as well. Biggest issue though was I really dislike when they rush you thru and it was a Tues and not even that crowded. We were served our appetizer and before we started on it her comes out soup. Less than a few spoonfuls later comes out food. So now we have to eat all three at the same time so nothing gets cold. Would have give more stars if not for this. Advise is to only order one item at a time unless you like all courses brought out at almost the same time
Must order: scallion pancakes (extra crispy at Sakura Mandarin!). Plenty of options from vegetarian to meat-eating to super spicy.
Gluten-free eater's best option is the sushi; we didn't ask what the sauces were made from, though there are plenty of rice/rice-noodle dishes available.
I've been there a few times over the years and never leave disappointed. I found the staff to be very nice and accommodating - I will say that it wasn't terribly crowded when we went at 5pm on a Saturday, but I've also been there on a Friday night during dinner rush when the place is absolutely packed, and that's when service can start to get a little spotty (and understandably so). The food is delicious and very reasonably priced. With the exception of the soup dumplings, everything came out very quickly - they are worth the wait, though. The menu is incredibly diverse, with something for everyone. I'm sure I'll be back again!
Staff was very unfriendly, but at least food was pretty good for the price and it came out quick. BYOB so make sure to bring your own so you can tune out the rude waiter!
We went to restaurant on New Year's Day. the service was very poor in that the waitress paid little attention to our table of four and the other staff ignored us by avoiding eye contact with us every time they passed by. The soup was brought out at all different times for our party rather than together. Food had little flavor although we did ask for low spice contents. I would not return as there are many other better choices in Chinatown.
The food was excellent. Everything was fresh and tasted delicious. The staff was very friendly and attentive. We had an excellent dinner and will definitely come again.
I've eaten here several times and I'm never disappointed. There are several different sources for the duck and they were all wonderful. I will return
The place was fine, nice, clean and standard. Nothing out of the ordinary. It was authentic and the people were nice. It wasn't bad but was not a fancy place, just a typical Chinese restaurant.
