Sakoon - Fremont
Our chefs have created dishes that borrow from the past, yet are reinvented anew with vibrancy and modern flair. Named for the Indian word for "peace," Sakoon was designed to envelop diners in warmth and serenity. Upon entering the restaurant, you'll be greeted by the image of Buddha in hand-carved wooden panels, the glow from fiber-optic chandeliers, and the shimmer of a waterfall cascading into a pool of lotus petals. We invite you to join us for an exquisite dining experience.
Food was very average than expected. Ambience ok. But surprised to see very good review on their food
Isn't it enough for me to give a score? :) food was delicious but very loud, but due to lots of families having a fun boisterous time.
Overall good place for lunch buffet with good quality options
There were only a few tables occupied (maybe three tables including ours). Service was super slow. Waiter would not show up, not check on us, and the food also took a very long time. That’s unusual for this place. We used to come regularly and this experience was very different. Also, the table cloth was dirty (looked like fresh stains from lunch). That’s not ok. They replace the paper cover only, but really should exchange the table cloth when it is dirty.
Everything was perfect. Great service and great food.
Service was outstanding. Our server did everything to make our experience wonderful.
The food was very tasty. The service was nice. I will come back!
We had a great meal! Really enjoyed the fried cauliflower appetizer and the tandoori grill.
Everybody was friendly and efficient.
So many flies around the food. Ambiance is good but flies on food is so bad. I heard from many people while sharing my experience that place is full of flies.
Service was excellent. Food was delicious and had the right degree of spiciness. Facility was nice although it felt a little cramped but they're expanding do that should solve that issue..
Great authentic indian food with lots of variety during lunch buffet
Very basic menu and food, seems like cost cutting.
Major downgrade from a year earlier.
Food was great. But too noisy. Can't hear ourselves talk or the waiters. Why don't you have some sound proof material? TV set to sports/boxing channel is not appropriate.
Great food! Lots of vegetarian options
Always delicious food and great service. Warm welcome, comfortable seating and thoughtful waiters.
Poor service, really bad food especially the maon course amd dessert. Only starters were palatable. Never visiting again and not going to recommend to any friends
We made a reservation for 4 as a special occasion dinnner through open table. When we arrived, there were 50% tables were empty but we waited for 5 minutes for someone to show up at the front desk to seat us. And, not just us, everyone showed up for the dinner had to wait up to 10 minutes for a table even though many tables were empty.
Anyways, after a while couple of waitresses showed up and one of the waitress took us to the 4-seater table. Interestingly, all the 4-seater tables in this restaurant are relatively small just enough for 2 people. Anyways, we were handed over the Menus and I told the waitress that we will start with appetizer. We ordered appetizer. I told the waitress to light the candle. Usually she should not have waited for us to tell her that candles need to be lit. When she was taking order for appetizer, she was asking us whether we also want to order entrees at the same time. I said, no we enjoy the appetizer and the drinks first then will order the meal as a second course.
By the time, we finished eating appetizers obviously the tables and all our plates were already messy. The waitress came by and asked us if we are ready to order the entrees. I reminded her politely that the tables need to be cleaned first before she can take the order for main course.
After that, she started picking up the plates we ate leaving the old silverware back on the table. My both the sons were staring at me when she was leaving the dirty silverware back on the table.
We came here to celebrate a special occasion as the ambience we thought was perfect. But the service was horrible here. The waitresses here need training and taught on how the dinner plates including silverwares need to be replaced between every course of meal.
By the way, food was not great either, so so meal for the price of a five-star hotel restaurant and for the service like a Dabha.
The food was great . Worth the wait . The service needs to be improved . They are extremely slow . Waiting for around 45 minutes after we placed the order.
Didn't seat us till 20 minutes after the reserved time.
We like this location because it is clean and less noisy.
We went to Sakoon's lunch buffet. I would say it is one of the most creative Indian buffets in the Bay area. The food is as delicious as it is non-standard fare. The best dahl (I don't remember what kind of dahl it was) I have EVER had! And that's saying something, if you can make lentils taste that good! We always love the sag dishes (spinach) - this one had corn kernels (instead of the standard farmer's cheese) - and it was interesting and spicy. My favorite dish, butter chicken, was excellent - the chicken was a higher quality than you get at many places. The wines by the glass choices were impressive, particularly for an Indian restaurant. Etude Pinot Noir! And even though it was a buffet, the service was helpful. I can't wait to go back!
Too much noise. Service is slow but friendly. Food is above average in variety and taste. Utensils are not replenished in buffet fast enough. Had to ask several times.
Me and my girlfriends had gone for a nice dinner. The place was great, Amazing hostess, incredible cocktails and great food!!
This restaurant do not honor open table reservation. Worst experience with Sakoon.
Because of Opentable we could book this resturant ahead and confirmed our spot before closing time. I liked the buffet spread many types of food.
The food is absolutely excellent. The prices are reasonable and the service is great. Tables are a little too close to each other but not too bad.
Crowded for Valentine’s Day. Had reservation and s acted 20 min late but after that all smooth. Service, food and attention great. As busy as they were kitchen did spectacular
We went there for Mother's Day lunch. We had made a reservation on Opentable for 12:15pm but had to change it to 1:15pm. I called the restaurant to confirm the change, and they said there were no reservations at 1:15pm but they could change our reservation to 1:30pm. No problem. We got there on time, and found that the young woman at the front desk was a bit overwhelmed because there were inconsiderate people walking in without reservations and demanding to be given tables. Anyway, we were directed to a table in the back room after a few minutes. They had a special Mother's Day buffet. The food was very good and we enjoyed the variety and taste, although the buffet area was too crowded (and at one point they ran out of plates so we had to wait in line until more plates arrived). Overall, a reasonably good lunch experience. I think it would have been a better experience had it not been so crowded. We will go there again (perhaps on a weekday when it's likely to be quieter).
It was good Indian food. The only complaints are the long lines for the buffet. The staff were pleasant but seemed slightly overwhelmed by the Mothers Day crowd.
The food at the bufett was delicious, the waiters were attentive and the noise level was appropriate. My group enjoyed the food!
Loved the food! Great service. We were thinking it would be an average indian food place but turned out to be one of our best indian meals ever.
Regular Indian Restaurant with special items on the menu that are hard to discover. Service not consistent
Buffet quality is significantly gone down, though they have lot of variety, but taste is not at all there in food.
Good quality food , lamb was a bit hard to chew.Overall , liked the food . But a bit too much crowd in a small dining area .
Awesome food and great service.
Bad don't book from OpenTable. they don't honor open table reservation.
It was the worst Valentine's dinner we could have had. We were not seated until 8:40pm, even though we had confirmed reservations for 7:45pm, Food did not arrive until 9:20, we were served the wrong order. Other than a sorry the restaurant did not make any effort to make up for the pathetic service and food
We had a get together with friends. All the items we ordered were appropriately spicy. Service was great. Unfortunately, the Cream brulee we wanted to have dessert was not available.
food quality was terrible. Me and my husband had a stomach upset after the lunch. Would not go back. The quality of the food was bad.
The food was delicious and the service outstanding!
