I often stay in Times Square on business trips, and found this small intimate restaurant which offers a lovely mix of italian and french cuisine. The food is always delicious and the atmosphere is very cozy, inviting and romantic.

Our waitress was inexperienced however, with time and patience on our part, she overcame her lack of experience and was helpful. The male staff was efficient, knowledgeable and very friendly and knowledgeable too. Joe and jill, Valentine experience-very good!.

Had very early dinner after a matinée Staff couldn’t have been more welcome. Dinner was excellent, good wine was suggested. Saju is one of the very best theater-district places to eat.

Absolutely amazing. From the old fashion, to the bread and olives, to the French onion coup (orgasmic) to the escargot, to the rabbit gnocchi. Unbelievably delicious!

We had a great pre theatre bite at this lively French spot. The service was attentive and the food was good. I had the pisto soup to start followed by a salmon tartare. My husband had the pate with a special risotto afterwards. Thoroughly enjoyable.

The food was decent, service appropriate, and ambiance agreeable. It’s perfect for a post-theatre dinner. But not worth the trip from outside the theater district.

We ate here before seeing Beautiful on Broadway last week. The food was delicious, the service was friendly and attentive, the menu prices were reasonable considering the place is convenient to Broadway theaters and we'll be back again, hopefully soon. My wife had the filet au poivre which was sauced and cooked perfectly medium rare. My duck confit and mushroom pappardelle (a special) was excellent too. For pre-theater dining this place is a welcome alternative to the pricey and/or overcrowded tourist traps of the Theater District.

A must in midtown. You may not think a French restaurant is a place for a burger but Saju has the best burger in midtown. Chicken pillard is outstanding. You can't miss with the daily Rialto offering either. What are you waiting for? Try Saju Bistro today! Oh, don't forget to try their profiteroles before leaving. You'll use that as the bar for profiteroles in the rest of Manhattan. Pour on the hot cholocate now!!!

Very bizarre service experience. We had heard good things and suggested this place for pre theater with relatives. Four of us got there and I was late. They wanted to order and our server refused to let them order for me. He said other diners sometimes don’t pay for their meal and they couldn’t put my order in. I arrived shortly after and heard that the server was extremely belligerent and yelled at them for the bad behavior of others. He put my order in and later apologized for his diatribe. Food was very good but we probably won’t be back. Strange.

Lively setting for a pre-theater dinner. The cold February day I was there, one of the specials was a lentil soup—a perfect soup for the season, and more complex then some other lentil soups I’ve had. The other specials enjoyed that night were Red Snapper with clams, leeks, and mashed potatoes and a Grand Marnier soufflé. Everything was marvelous. The only word of caution is that all the portions are generous, but too good to leave much on the plate. Service—from both the hostess and the server—was excellent—cheerful and helpful, but not intrusive. The main reason I chose Saju was because it was right across the street from the theater I was going to afterward and less than a block from my hotel, but it’s worth going out of your way for, and I plan to return.

A good pre-theater choice for if ones enjoy French bistro food. We were pleasantly greeted by a friendly hostess and pleased with our table. Overall the food and service were both very good. The onion soup, thick with onions, was the best we've had in a while; and the escargot, obligingly loaded with garlic, was delicious. There was one dismaying mishap with regard to the main course: upon our inquiry, the waiter recommended the trout, one of the evening's specials, which he opined was very tasty. Hence my husband and I both immediately ordered the dish only to be told much to our dismay that the kitchen had out of the fish! So soon? This isn't acceptable. It was very early -only a little past 6:30 pm, in my experience much too early for a kitchen to run out of the evening special, which suggests poor planning or an unusually large consumption. Whatever the reason however, the status should have been properly communicated to the waiter so as to avoid the customers' disappointment. My husband ordered the sea bass as a substitute, which was good and I had the hanger steak with mashed potatoes and haricots vert, also quite good.

We really liked this restaurant. Everything we ordered was very tasty. The service was very good. We liked the ambiance. We were there for dinner after we attended the Broadway show.
If we are in the area we will go to this restaurant again.

We enjoyed brunch at Saju, before a matinee at the Belasco directly across the street. The service was professional, the food delicious. We felt as if we were in a neighborhood restaurant-instead of in the midst of the Theatre District. I had a traditional brunch specialty, croque monsieur, while my friend enjoyed soap soup au pistou and home/made pate. Delicious.

After making a reservation, I called the restaurant to confirm their brunch time and was told 11am. When we got there at 10:50 and were seated, we were told they would not serve brunch until 11:30am. This was very disappointing. Not sure why they couldn't serve us early since there were only 3 other people in the restaurant. Our waitress did not even try to be pleasant. She never came back to see if we needed more coffee and seem bothered by a request for lemon and some extra capers. The food was good, but the waitress for a chilly atmosphere.

Perfect for pre/post theatre. The staff were terrific and saw that we were served, presented with check, and able to leave in time for theatre. They were full on a Saturday evening, but food and service were very good. Loved the onion soup! And noise level was acceptable - we were a table to four and able to hear each other speak.

Another superb dining experience at Saju, Friday evening, Feb. 2, 2018 at 6 p.m.. My wife arrived a little before me, had a seat at the bar, and recounted a wonderful tete-a-tete with the lovely Irish bartender on duty who kept her warm & friendly company until I arrived. Saju---an excellent choice for pre- or post-theater dining or just for a really good restaurant night out. 5 stars: for the sweet bartender (wish we'd gotten her name), the excellent service, and a delightful dinner (salmon for my wife, wild mushroom risotto for me). We will be back. Saju has become a favored & regular dining spot for us. . . .

If you sit in the back room the noise level is minimal; up front is the noisiest. If you like 'buzz,' the front. If you like conversation, thr middle room and especially the back. I love this restaurant for before theatre dinner--it's my 'go to' place.

A very solid pre or post theater choice in a neighborhood overrun with crappy tourist traps posing as restaurants. Good value as well, with a really reasonably priced wine list. Should be on your short list of go-to spots when you are choosing a place to dine in the theater district.

The restaurant is well-located for some theaters.
Menu is excellent as is the food.
Service was superb; we were going to the theater and the waitress was quite attentive.

It's a large restaurant, well-decorated, but...........a bit noisy. Tables are VERY
close together. So check out what your neighbors are eating and enjoy the
company of other tables.
