We thoroughly enjoyed our food and service . I only hope the crowds are able to return to enjoy this restaurant
The food wasn’t super tasty and it was dry. Convenient if going to the theater but that would be the only reason to go.
Friendly and convenient spot for a post-theater supper or drinks. Very reasonable prices for NYC, and generous servings of classic French comfort food.
I’d love it if the pasta entrees could be served as a half portion appetizer
A consistently good place to have brunch before a weekend matinee.
As always look forward to dining at Saju. We are never disappointed. Food service consistently wonderful
We enjoyed and excellent supper...the daily specials were great!
Food, music, and service were all excellent. Can be a romantic place -- if you get a "quiet table". Can be very energetic in the bar/front area. LOVE the background music and would like to hear it better above the ambient talk and bustle. But the food and the caring service has always been wonderful. It feels like home -- if once were living in Provence. :-)
Saju never disappoints. Food is tasty and well prepared. Staff is pleasant.
Dominic our server was overwhelmed with a party of 12. All the other servers pitched in to make sure we were well attended to. After the large party left, Dominic paid us special attention. On top of the service, the food was wonderful. We will be back.
Service was not very good. The server did not even inform us about the specials and was not attentive to our table. We had a reservation that was early, before the dinner rush but we still felt ignored. The staff seemed more concerned with joking around with each other than assisting customers. I was disappointed in the experience. The food tasted good and was visually appealing but that is the only positive I can come up with. The negatives unfortunately took away from the food being good.
Food was not good
Forget Paris. Have a serious drink or two at the bar, enjoy the wait with luscious olives, then proceed to your table and embrace the cozy, warm comfort of an authentic, exquisite French bistro. From the Bucatini to the Salmon Provencal, there has never been a meal I did not enjoy at Saju. This is simply my favorite restaurant ever. Bravo!
Had a lovely, delicious birthday dinner. The menu is large and varied to meet anyone’s taste.
Our waiter couldn't have been more attentive and accommodating at our pre-theater dinner. The Bistro itself is lovely and the portions generous. The only problem was that we all ordered the same dish--a seafood platter--which was a little tough and heavy on the squid. I regret passing up the skate special or any of the other appealing menu items. Nice wine selection. The special dessert--a Bailey's tiramisu--was very special and highly shareable Another minor detraction: only two toilets required end-of meal planning to make curtain.
Saju is my go-to place in the theater district especially when going to The Town Hall. The small house salad had endive, arugula, frisée, and other greens with a tasty dressing. I had the mussels and pomme frites - a favorite of mine - with a glass of Sancerre. The service was excellent. There were many delicious sounding specials, but I am sometimes in a rut and just want those mussels. The decor is pretty with some exposed brick walls and charming French posters. The noise level is low and there is enough space between tables for easy movement and privacy.
Saju Bistro offers tasty food and pleasant ambiance.
Good choice for a pre theatre meal. Has the authentic feel of a French Brasserie with dishes to match- I enjoyed the onion soup and the duck confit and my only reservation (a small one) would be that the wine list could be a bit more interesting.
Indifferent service, ok food. Excellent dessert apple tatin
What a cozy welcoming restaurant! We loved it here. Our dinner was delicious and the waitstaff were attentive, and professional. We look forward to returning and will recommend to family and friends!
We always look forward to dining at Saju Bistro. Food, service, ambience all wonderful. Particularly enjoy the mussels!!!!
The restaurant was exactly what i was looking for. Good range of menu options. Attentive, responsive service. The food was attractive and good. Prices were not excessive.
We had a wonderful evening celebrating our wedding anniversary we arrived a full hour before our reservation and we were seated! We told the wait staff we wanted to go slow and pace ourselves. They did just that. Totally accommodated our desire. The wine, the food, the service and the special dessert they sent for our anniversary were just perfect!
This is one of my favorite restaurants! The food is consistently wonderful, freshly prepared and beautifully presented. The wait staff is always friendly, gracious and attentive. I highly recommend Saju Bistro !
Reliable theatre district bistro. This visit was late night, so staff was short. Still the best pate in midtown. Great wine, too.
This was our second visit.. only stand out dish was the duck confit salad. We came in at ten pm.. server was pretty distracted and inattentive. Nice atmosphere and prices are easy able considering the location near Times Square.
So reliable and so delicious. They really understand the theater crowd and their time table. The fact that the kitchen can keep up with high quality food is impressive.
If you want to find a reasonably-priced French venue in the theater district where you can actually carry on a conversation, Saju Bistro is great choice. Service was excellent (midweek 7:30 pm). The buratta appetizer (special) and the grilled seafood were both excellent. The portions were actually very good (I expect small portions at French restaurants and was pleasantly surprised). Our waiter was very attentive, but not rushed. Would definitely go to again.
The ambiance is very cozy and the wait staff very attentive. The menu selections are very diverse and offer great options to share as well as single entrees. Specials of the day were very attractive also. All of the food was prepared nicely and were very flavorful.
Very professional presentations, which were delicious.
Very good food and service ! Ambiance is European , great place to go !
Classic ambiance with incredible service. Food was right on point ... I should know since I ate there 3 times during a two-night stay at Mela!
We always visit this Restaurant when in New York! Consistently exceptional food and service! Waiter Dominic was friendly, knowledgeable and attentive!
Saju has been one of our favorites for years. Never disappointed with the food or service. Friendly, efficient wait staff are very attentive. Great menu. Food is consistently fresh and well prepared. Reasonable pricepoint for midtown
10/10 would recommend and would definitely go again. The ambiance made our dinner so much more romantic and memorable. The live music was a beautiful touch. We had the escargot, lobster bisque, lamb shank, grilled seafood, and creme brûlée. Everything was served in a timely fashion and service was nothing short of great. We LOVED our main courses and the dessert. Serving sizes were really filling. We had to share a dessert from how full we were.
Lastly, the rose on our way out was very sweet.
Great pre or post theater eatery. Service is pleasant and efficient. Food selection is varied . Portions are substantial. Presentation is appealing. And food is delicious! Great for meeting friends, special occasions or just a good meal in the City. We cant wait to return.
This is a lovely place but it is very expensive. The food is excellent and it’s presentation fine but the cost is out of proportion to the values.
Interesting dishes, lovely polite and helpful service. Not overly expensive for the quality food.
The food was delicious. Service excellent. Ambiance charming.
Two did not like meal ..... it was ok
Was so excited to return to this wonderful French bistro while in NY.
