Shared an appetizer of mussels which were fresh and plentiful.
Each entree was beautifully presented and delicious.
Seafood risotto and fresh sea bass were outstanding.
Flourless chocolate cake was not the best we ever had but still wonderful.
Our server was the best I have ever had. Her recommendations were on spot and her spirit added to our fun.
We will definitely return.

Good solid food prepared in quasi French tradition. Loud pop music from the 60s and 70s. Decent food and service. Good value for that location.

It was both our birthdays mine the 7th and husbands the 12. You were told about it and your restaurant didn’t do anything. It would have been a great extra bonus.

It was our third visit and it did not disappoint. The special beet appetizer was amazing. The hangar steak, loup de mer fish, pork loin were all terrific. The sauces and sides complemented each perfectly. We will return.

Had a lunch there on Saturday with the snow falling outside and was lucky to obtain a window table to view the snow falling outside. Felt like we were transported far from Manhattan. Food and atmosphere made it a find we will return to, particularly after the matinee crowd went to their show.

Saju is consistently excellent. The food is well prepared and flavorful. The service is above par. Menu pricing is competitive for the theatre district. We frequently dine here with friends before a show and we have never had a bad experience.

Poor service. Slow, amateurish, no water refills, slow for food to come out- (45 min for mains) Just really poor service. Great food, but I wouldn't go back and couldn't recommend. With so many great restaurants in Manhattan, we'll go elsewhere next time. La Bonne Soupe has great food, ok service (made up for by the food) and very reasonable prices.

Enjoyed every bite! My favorite was on the menu, rabbit with gnocchi & my hubby enjoyed a huge lamb shank...delicious! Profiteroles were probably the best we've had in a very long time (two of us shared them).

Brunch was good but not great. We had omlettes. The portions we generous but lacking in flavor. Service was very good. We had a new server who was training but she was very good. The room was attractive and comfortable.

Quaint restaurant. Food was great as well as service. It was a great place to eat before we headed over to the Stephen Sondheim Theatre to see Beautiful the Carol King Musical. Would certainly go back!

Saju Bistro is a consistently solid pre-post theatre performance venue. The service is always attentive without being intrusive, and the cuisine flavorful, reasonably priced and well prepared. While the wine list is limited, it’s very well balanced with affordable options. We have never been disappointed after multiple visits to this neighborhood gem. On this visit we arrived a half hour early, but the maitre d’ seated us promptly as soon as a table came available in the most spacious section!

We has a brunch engagement in the morning that was fantastic and Florabell was excellent.
We had dinner engagement at another restaurant next door and the reception and table selection¦ was just horrible and no flexibility.
We immediately went back to Saju and were welcomed and accommodated immediately in spite of a busy Saturday evening with a great business meeting table.
Marco was fantastic and had a great sense of humor making it a fun evening over many hours.
Thank Tou

Make a trip to NYC every year to kick off holidays and try to always make it to Saju as we’ve enjoyed the experience year over year. As in the past, the food was wonderful, the environment casual and welcoming (love the bar) and of course the olives. However the service from seating, to ordering, to bill wrap up was sub-pat. The waiter was borderline rude, was not the least bit helpful and was absent most of the evening. (Well he was over chatting with a table such that another table he was serving also commented on his absence and had to get attention from another server to pay the bill. Disappointing to have this occur at a recurring favorite .

The Saju Bistro is one of the nicest surprises in the theater district. The owners, wait staff and chef make it a memorable experience with a lovely selection of food and rinks to choose from.
You must experience the friendly staff and wonderful food to savor your own opinion.

The restaurant is located in a very lively and crowded area, but it nontheless offers a rather quiet and cosy (French) ambiance. The food is good, though overpriced, as expected in this neighborhood. The service was excellent. The place is quite noisy, but you can still have an intimate conversation if you ask for a table in the back.
About the food: I recommend this restaurant to anyone willing to have diner in a nice French restaurant, without too high expectations for the food. A lot of their sea food is frozen, their goat chesse tarts do not seem to be homemade, neither do their French fries, their bavette à échalote is pre-cut and too cooked [even if you specify that you want it rare], etc.
Overall, however, the ambiance is pleasant and the prices remain affordable for a central New York experience (expect to pay around 200$ for two people, appetizer and main including wine and tip, but no dessert).

Saju Bistro is a dependable pre-theater choice, and our "go-to" restaurant in the theater district or when visiting Bryant Park. The menu is varied, and all the choices excellent.
On our last visit, the Wednesday before Thanksgiving, the service was superb, and the food as good as we have come to expect. The salad special, described as a "winter salad," was the best salad I have ever had! Chopped up tomatoes and vegetables were energized by -pomegranate seeds, pistachios, and wonderful, creamy, fresh goat cheese. My gnocchi was excellent, and my wife really liked her French onion soup and goat cheese tartlets. I recommend this restaurant very highly!

Always far above average for pre-theater, with attentive wait staff who get you to the curtain on time. Also top notch any time you want French-style dining without the pomposity.

Went twice on a recent visit to NY. Food both times good, although we considered the portions to be very large. Service however, can be rather offhand, with preference to giving poor tables near the door or bar area, even with a reservation, without a fuss, which spoiled our second evening. Some menu items a bit odd with their choice of accompaniment. Well located, but with a little more effort would deserve a better rating.

We found Saju Bistro on line when we were looking for a reasonably priced French restaurant pre-theatre. It more than met our requirements. The onion soup was terrific, the rabbit, octopus and steak tartare were well prepared and tasty. The pricing was reasonable. Unfortunately the waitress was a little too busy and had to be reminded to bring some items, but we will certainly return.
