Always consistently good! Friendly service and nice French cuisine
Extremely loud, rushed service, blah food. Salmon tartare was large but tasteless. Only saving grace were the delicious potatoes served with main dishes.
Saju is a great pre-theatre venue - staff is prompt and professional although rarely ebullient. The food is above par; the location is ideal; the menu is varied; and the prices are reasonable for midtown. It is usually crowded and there is little elbow room. No place for an intimate or confidential conversation. Have never been disappointed which is why we return here frequently.
Always a pleasure coming here. I recommend it regularly to folks attending the theater. Even on a low carb, low fat diet, the choices are there to enjoy a delicious meal.
I had the turkey burger with fries which was good and under $20. My girlfriend had the salad nicoise which she enjoyed. We like that they put of small dish of olives on the table and bread with olive oil. We ended with a nice cup of coffee. Just right before theater on a Saturday night.
Food and service was very good. Noise level got rather loud. This is a nice restaurant, and we would definitely return at a later date.
Mussel appetizer was outstanding. Always a pleasure dining at Saju. Thank you.
Good memo choices for all. Very good service and timing of items. Great for a before theater experience.
A wide menu to suit all tastes. Reasonably priced theater district alternative with good presentation and fresh ingredients. Service was excellent.
Service was very good, however, I had to send my steak back to kitchen twice because it was raw. Spinach was not cooked well.
Our favorite french restaurant in the theatre district!
Very good food and excellent service even at 10 pm after a show!
Food was great. Had the rib special and the swordfish special. Really great location for the theatre too.
We enjoyed our meals very much. We had two of the nightly specials...clams and linguine, and short ribs. Both were delicious. And close to the theaters.
Food - great. Location - great. Prices - fair. Service - wow. Can’t get a cup of coffee. Can’t get a spoon for your coffee. Then get double charged for coffee on the bill.
As always this place is awesome!
This is my go to restaurant when in the theater district. It is consistently delicious!
If you find yourself in the theater district and are looking for an authentic french restaurant, nice wines, excellent menu selection and attentive service - this is the place for you! The waiter was very knowledgeable, spot on with a wine recommendation, and just a lovely place to eat and chat with a friend or alone. C'est tres bien!
Didn't like it the first time but thought I might have just ordered badly. Everything underseasoned. Colleague had mussels and said they were awful. Food flew out the kitchen minutes after we ordered it, which is a bit too quick for a business lunch. Creme Caramel was DENSE and basically they took the Creme Brule mixture and just turned it upside down. Nobody ever came to check on how we liked our food or to refill my iced tea. Will not go back again. With so many choices on that block I don't know how they get away with it.
Waiter was distracted even though restaurant was empty on Monday. Had to ask for bread 3 times and mayo twice and birthday candle was in wrong dessert.
Lovely dinner - we learned that the a/c wasn't working but given that the evening was cool and there were so few people, the temperature was fine. We have eaten at Saju many times. It was funny to be one of the few people in the restaurant at 8pm! Both appetizers and main courses were delicious.
Popped in after theatre.
Always my favourite. Probably almost the only civilised restaurant in the area.
We always love Saju. Great food, service, and ambiance. We had a wonderful brunch before a matinee. Perfect start to a great day in the city.
We really enjoyed it. The menu is varied and delicious. The service was excellent.
I would absolutely recommend Saju Bistro to others! My table was ready when I arrived and they sat me exactly where I asked to be seated. It is a lovely restaurant - feels like you are dining in France - and tables are spread out and not all on top of one another. The food is delicious and plentiful and pricing is very fair. A rare find in the theatre district. I loved my entree and dessert. Next time I will have an appetizer as well! Highly recommend this pre or post theatre.
Saju never disappoints. I’ve been coming here for years. Excellent meet up place for work or friends.
We absoutely loved this Saju Bistro. It's a jewel of a theater district restaurant. We will definitely add Saju Bistro to our pre- and post-theater dining rotation.
We have been dining at Saju for many years; we are never disappointed in the food and service.
This is a quiet gem of the theater district. Charming atmosphere, sweet staff, delicious food.
Food & atmosphere are always good. Our server was very aggressive and constantly pushed us to hurry up and finish through every course. We did not have theater tickets which we told manager. Very disappointed in service last night.
Nice ambience good food and service window seat on the street really nice too.
I have dined at Saju Bistro for a number of years, and I can say without qualification, that they never disappoint. Try it. You will love it.
Reasonably priced and delicious breakfast. Also good for post-theater dinner!
Had a wonderful time with cousins. The escargot is the best around. Everyone enjoyed their meals. Rave review of the ravioli. The staff was very friendly and knowledgeable. We all loved our meals.
Even though I avoid Times Square, I always dine at Saju every trip to NY and have some wine and their Country Pate along with a couple of other sides for a light meal. The full menu has a great selection so there is something for everybody. Atmosphere is pretty and always good service.
We had a delicious dinner, expertly and attentively served, and we enjoyed ourselves very much!
Always a great pre-theater spot, with a wide ranging menu. We had the tuna Niçoise salad, which was marred by underripe inedible tomatoes. The tuna was lovely but I think there were just three small slices.
Always a favorite, food & service never disappoint!
The service was very rocky the night we dined here. Our waiter seemed distracted and very slow like he was having a very bad evening. The owner/manager did his best to get our order in after a 45 minute wait. A new waiter took over and things improved. A complimentary cocktail or even entree reduced would have been a nice gesture as compensation for the poor service we received earlier.
We'll definitely think twice before returning to Saju!
