Sajo's Ratings and Reviews
We were a party of 5 for an early Sunday dinner and a special occasion. Very nice ambiance being seated next to the fireplace! Our Sever Jeffrey was outstanding and made the experience very enjoyable. Seriously ask for Jeffry if you go. The food was prepared perfectly and everyone went away full. We had a great time and highly recommend.
Went for the first time for an early NYE dinner with in-laws. Probably one of the best servers I have ever experienced. Food was fabulous, restaurant clean, hostess staff greeted us as welcomed guests. Only negative, they had a special menu that night and so entrees were limited and not what I would have normally ordered. Will go back again.
We had a private room for a birthday party of 14 people on a Tuesday evening. That room allowed much quieter space for conversation among people in the party. The service was a little slow initially, but otherwise everything was great. I would certainly recommend this place for dining.
Prices are very reasonable, good tasty food, but nothing to boast about. Nice daily specials. Great place to meet friends, not rushed out because they need the table. Could use a little more variety on the menu, seems a bit limited. Hope they change the menu seasonally.
A group of 12 of us celebrated the most recent stage performance at the Macomb Center of my two sons with our out of town family guests. Since we had a time crunch between shows for my son's the wait staff did an excellent job of expediting their orders while the rest of us could take our time. The table setting was excellent (right next to the fireplace). From appetizers, bread, salads and main courses, all the food was exceptional with generous portion sizes. In my previous dining experiences, a diverse menu can often times result in nothing being great; Sajo's has become the amazing exception; from BBQ ribs and Italian to Mediterranean, everything was TOP NOTCH. This has now become our new go to dining place for live performance celebrations. We very much look forward to our next visit.
Although somewhat small, 2 tails for $19.99 was a good value especially with soup or salad and breadbasket included. Fettuccine topped with breaded veal for an extra $9 was NOT a good value. Husband should’ve gotten senior discount on his meal, they claimed because “I” had a lobster special, discount does not apply. Food very tasty.
I decided to surprise my wonderful by taking him to dinner. Sajo's sent a reminder e=mail and this time I made a reservation. Wow, it turned out to be the must wonderful and amazing experience my husband and I shared. The service was amazing and the food unforgettably good. I plan to go again real soon. Thank you to the staff and patrons for such a great time.
Atmosphere was very nice and quiet. We had a nice server, appetizers were great! Until we got to the meals.. the ceasar salad I had had a little bit of old browning lettuce. All of the meals that contained chicken and beef (chicken Marsala/ribs/veal/steak) all had a weird taste. Chicken was undercooked and tasted a bit raw. Ribs were too dry. Mashed potatoes were nice. The food took so long!! Way too long of a wait considering we were the only customers left in the building. The employees were nice and professional. Seems more of a place for the snipe population.
We celebrated my retirement with family and a few friends. The food was absolutely awesome!! Our server, Alan, was very attentive, friendly and added to our great experience. Management sent over 2 appetizers which was a pleasant surprise! We had a great evening!!!
The meal and the initial service was good. I became puzzled as to why we were seated in an area all by ourselves. After we were finished with our food and had our leftovers boxed we were left alone for quite a while. I had to finally signal the wait staff a few times to receive our check.
We had another beautiful dinner at Sajo's. Arriving at 7:30 allowed us miss the dinner rush. Service was the best and of course we had Bill for our waiter. Everything just keeps getting better as new and different items are being added to the menu every week.
The staff at Sajo's couldn't have been nicer. What started out as a friends-get-together for 7 turned into a surprise birthday celebration with an additional 2 adults, one of whom was in a wheelchair (the birthday girl, age 92). Not only did staff make room, they brought glasses of complimentary champagne to toast the birthday girl! :-) The food, as always, was delish!, with each dish being a great value for the money (read: lots of food!). Have never had a bad experience at this restaurant; thanks, Sajo's!! for making it a memorable evening in the best sense of the word :-)
We waited 20 minutes for a waiter to show up after being seated. Instead of taking care of us, he started complaining about how he didn't know we were his table. My wife and I had our order screwed up. Food was only fair tasting. Nothing special. We will not be returning.
This is where we had our 1st date 11 years ago, hoped for so much more. Will not visit again. Disappointing! Main menu indicates GF items & GF menu identifies specific items but they do not match. GF items included flour and breads which is incorrect. BBQ Ribs were indicated as GF but noone could confirm if BBQ was GF. We think the Lemon Rice soup (usually GF) was not either (wife got seriously sick) as it was probably made with processed chicken stock instead of house made. Asst Manager not aware of what GF meant or how food prepared. Not willing to adapt items to be GF. "Not how we do it" was response. Servers not trained in allergy awareness. Don't think chef aware either. Definitely not how we remembered it and not how we wanted to spend our evening.
It was a seafood night, Lobster Tuesday. I enjoyed the surf and turf and the little lady had shrimp. Bill was our waiter. Couldn't have been any better. Unless of course Jim Sage was picking up the tab, but he was no where to be found so I paid! Great place for a meal!
The staff was excellent, from the moment we walked in the door, we were greeted by very friendly & smiling faces. Our waitress was very knowledgeable in the cuisine & wine list. The Seafood streusel was perfect It was our Anniversary & the staff , all at one point or another stopped by our table to congratulate us, including the chef. A very memorable evening.
