I'm so glad you asked. My friend and I each ordered the Lobster special that was nicely priced, and a generous meal that came with garlic mashed potatoes, a vegetable and soup or salad. I asked to have a baked potato instead of the mashed and was told there would be an upcharge (how carefully worded!), and I figured maybe a dollar more, so I said fine. Among the soups offered, my friend ordered the lobster bisque for an upcharge. Shamefully, neither of us asked "how much?" I've been to this restaurant many, many times before, including my wedding rehersal dinner, husband's funeral luncheon and Mother's Day.
When I received my bill, I was charged $4.00 for a baked potato (did that include the credit for the potato I didn't get?). My friend was charged $5.00 for the soup, not taking the included soup in the offer. Granted, it was lobster, although she claims she hardly found a morsel of lobster in it.
Sadly disappointed. The waitress was terrific--except she SHOULD HAVE told the customer the exorbitant amount that would be charged. It was mildly reflected in her tip--only mildly as she was quite good otherwise.
We enjoyed our mid afternoon dinner. Jeffery went above and beyond with exceptional service. I do have to mention that it was very quiet for us; We unfortunately, were able to over hear associates at the bar discussing a shortage to a drawer with language I would NOT consider suitable for us to hear or family friendly.
Pace of service was great. Server was knowledgeable and offered a few suggestions.
First time there and will be back.
I had the veal Marsala and my wife had the pecan chicken
First off our reservation was for 6:30 on Valentine's Day. We were seated very quickly and the best booth in the middle. Our server was Beth with her amazing smile and friendly personality won us over. She spoke higher of the restaurant and encouraged us to come back again another time. Food and drinks came out fast and the food was amazing! We both loved the food however we had to take some home for lunch the next day. The large portions were well worth the $59.99 special. I liked the presentation and the purple lights outside on the trees too. We were told to come here by his dad who enjoyed the wonderful food and his experiences before. He really knows the best place to have a romantic evening so we thanked him for his idea.
Food was great as always.....
Service from Geoff was outstanding!!!!
Food was excellent. Waiter was very helpful and friendly. Will be going again soon.
I really enjoyed my meal. Everything (bread, dipping oil, salad dressing, and entree) were delicious!!
Great service. The food was very good as well. The wine selection and Martinis were excellent. It's a nice casual atmosphere.
Another pleasant evening at Sajo's with Bill and the gang!
Food was excellent on steak evening. Our efficient waiter, Jeffrey, made our evening so comfortable & memorable. Noise level on that evening was higher than we liked.
We were a party of 5 for an early Sunday dinner and a special occasion. Very nice ambiance being seated next to the fireplace! Our Sever Jeffrey was outstanding and made the experience very enjoyable. Seriously ask for Jeffry if you go. The food was prepared perfectly and everyone went away full. We had a great time and highly recommend.
Great time with 2 of our grandchildren one was home on leave from the navy.
Went for the first time for an early NYE dinner with in-laws. Probably one of the best servers I have ever experienced. Food was fabulous, restaurant clean, hostess staff greeted us as welcomed guests. Only negative, they had a special menu that night and so entrees were limited and not what I would have normally ordered. Will go back again.
We had a private room for a birthday party of 14 people on a Tuesday evening. That room allowed much quieter space for conversation among people in the party. The service was a little slow initially, but otherwise everything was great. I would certainly recommend this place for dining.
We went to Sajo for our family Christmas dinner. Reservation was on time. Food was great. Staff checked on us periodically. Overall good experience, deffinately would eat there again
Service was wonderful. Food was plentiful and delicious. Atmosphere was festive. Restaurant was clean and attractive. Would recommend it for anyone.
Food & service was good. Cheesecake was very good. Would recommend.
Great restaurant with delicious food. Very nice place to dine.
You set us up in a private room off the dinning room which was absolutely great. The whole family truly enjoyed being able mingle with each other. It was Dad/grandpa/great grrandpa’s 88th Birthday. Great time.
Prices are very reasonable, good tasty food, but nothing to boast about. Nice daily specials. Great place to meet friends, not rushed out because they need the table. Could use a little more variety on the menu, seems a bit limited. Hope they change the menu seasonally.
A group of 12 of us celebrated the most recent stage performance at the Macomb Center of my two sons with our out of town family guests. Since we had a time crunch between shows for my son's the wait staff did an excellent job of expediting their orders while the rest of us could take our time. The table setting was excellent (right next to the fireplace). From appetizers, bread, salads and main courses, all the food was exceptional with generous portion sizes. In my previous dining experiences, a diverse menu can often times result in nothing being great; Sajo's has become the amazing exception; from BBQ ribs and Italian to Mediterranean, everything was TOP NOTCH. This has now become our new go to dining place for live performance celebrations. We very much look forward to our next visit.
Although somewhat small, 2 tails for $19.99 was a good value especially with soup or salad and breadbasket included. Fettuccine topped with breaded veal for an extra $9 was NOT a good value. Husband should’ve gotten senior discount on his meal, they claimed because “I” had a lobster special, discount does not apply. Food very tasty.
Nice dinner. Our waiter, Jeffrey, was outstanding! Very attentive.
Great food good people they treat you like your family and do an outstanding job.
Food is awesome. Our waiter Bill is awesome. Can’t wait to go again.
Great location, Great service, Great Food and relaxing environment.
I decided to surprise my wonderful by taking him to dinner. Sajo's sent a reminder e=mail and this time I made a reservation. Wow, it turned out to be the must wonderful and amazing experience my husband and I shared. The service was amazing and the food unforgettably good. I plan to go again real soon. Thank you to the staff and patrons for such a great time.
Atmosphere was very nice and quiet. We had a nice server, appetizers were great! Until we got to the meals.. the ceasar salad I had had a little bit of old browning lettuce. All of the meals that contained chicken and beef (chicken Marsala/ribs/veal/steak) all had a weird taste. Chicken was undercooked and tasted a bit raw. Ribs were too dry. Mashed potatoes were nice. The food took so long!! Way too long of a wait considering we were the only customers left in the building. The employees were nice and professional. Seems more of a place for the snipe population.
The food was excellent and the service was great. We especially loved the atmosphere.
I've never been disappointed. I've been there for regular dining and for special occasions.
The food was great, as it always is , I never had a bad meal here. Our waiter was Jeffery who was as the greatest, when I come back, I will ask to be seated in his section. Receiving such great service is a plus when you dine out.
We celebrated my retirement with family and a few friends. The food was absolutely awesome!! Our server, Alan, was very attentive, friendly and added to our great experience. Management sent over 2 appetizers which was a pleasant surprise! We had a great evening!!!
The meal and the initial service was good. I became puzzled as to why we were seated in an area all by ourselves. After we were finished with our food and had our leftovers boxed we were left alone for quite a while. I had to finally signal the wait staff a few times to receive our check.
We had another beautiful dinner at Sajo's. Arriving at 7:30 allowed us miss the dinner rush. Service was the best and of course we had Bill for our waiter. Everything just keeps getting better as new and different items are being added to the menu every week.
The staff at Sajo's couldn't have been nicer. What started out as a friends-get-together for 7 turned into a surprise birthday celebration with an additional 2 adults, one of whom was in a wheelchair (the birthday girl, age 92). Not only did staff make room, they brought glasses of complimentary champagne to toast the birthday girl! :-) The food, as always, was delish!, with each dish being a great value for the money (read: lots of food!). Have never had a bad experience at this restaurant; thanks, Sajo's!! for making it a memorable evening in the best sense of the word :-)
Excellent salads with fresh ingredients and unique blends.
We waited 20 minutes for a waiter to show up after being seated. Instead of taking care of us, he started complaining about how he didn't know we were his table. My wife and I had our order screwed up. Food was only fair tasting. Nothing special. We will not be returning.
With Bill as the waiter nothing could be wrong. Same great service every time
Terrific food good atmosphere we will be going back.
This is where we had our 1st date 11 years ago, hoped for so much more. Will not visit again. Disappointing! Main menu indicates GF items & GF menu identifies specific items but they do not match. GF items included flour and breads which is incorrect. BBQ Ribs were indicated as GF but noone could confirm if BBQ was GF. We think the Lemon Rice soup (usually GF) was not either (wife got seriously sick) as it was probably made with processed chicken stock instead of house made. Asst Manager not aware of what GF meant or how food prepared. Not willing to adapt items to be GF. "Not how we do it" was response. Servers not trained in allergy awareness. Don't think chef aware either. Definitely not how we remembered it and not how we wanted to spend our evening.
