I totally liked this restaurant. There were four of us for brunch and we all had the same thing, so I can't speak too expansively about the food. That said, everything was delicious: a superb butternut squash/apple soup, a perfectly prepared omelet accompanied by tasty salad and a lovely potato dish (like a Jewish kugel, actually). Service was warm and efficient. And the restaurant has an attractive antique look. I live in New York City but hope to come back.

We were an hour late because of a flat tire but staff was very accommodating. Everything was delicious and filling. There is no pretentious air you may be wary of when it comes to some french/french themed restaurants. We will be visiting again. I did wish we were not seated in front of the stairs but we were over an hour late so we'll take it...

Small french decorum restaurant. Met friends for early Sunday meal. Restaurant was quiet and outside was also quiet. Food was good, nothing to rave about, good solid french cuisine.

St. George has been a favorite for a few years now and keeps getting better. Dragged my friends from Brooklyn to this spot on Saturday after raving to them for quite some time and they were super impressed as well. Great wine selection and I highly recommend the steak frites with the lobster béarnaise. My husband ordered the pork blade steak and I'm not a big fan of sauerkraut, but had a taste and was super impressed. I can't wait to spend yet another Valentine's Day at my favorite restaurant in Westchester.

Excellent French food. The lemon tart was an outstanding dessert, and the escargots were worth driving for.

By the end of our meal we were the only people eating (it was a stormy night), but St. George did not feel empty. The ambience was warm and welcoming and so was the food. Loved the escargot and coq au vin and the cocktails were lovely too!

All the feel of a French restaurant and excellent food. It is like you are walking into a restaurant in Paris. We went for the Sunday Family Night Dinner offering a meal for the whole table (everyone has to agree). We started with the patés and chose the boeuf bourguignon, roasted carrots, and house potatoes. For desert, we tried the crème brulée, the tarte citron and the special apple galete. Everything was delicious.

We want to like this place - been here 3 times- but the service and food are spotty. Last time we went, we asked fish to be cooked through, but it wasn't. The preparation didn't really suit the type of fish either. A few months prior to that, cassoulet came out ice- cold in the middle (prepared ahead of time, refrigerated but not thoroughly reheated). For an expensive restaurant, that is really NOT acceptable at all. I don't think it's worth the trip.

My hand to God this is authentic French food. I know because my mother was French and cooked from scratch every day. we had the foie gras: light, delicious and I had the coq au vin, delicately prepared. And the service was warm and attentive. Merci beaucoup. Not overly expensive and worth every penny. OH! and the chocolate mousse! You will see me again.

This restaurant would rival any good French bistro in Manhattan and is probably one of the best places to eat in lower Westchester. The Coq au Vin was really authentic and delicious. Raw bar is varied and reasonably priced.

I have been going to here for a while now, but i think the quality of the food has gone down. My steak frites was gummy and chewy and they sliced it up. Steak frites should never be served that way ad the fries were underwhelming. My favorite item is the chicken liver mousse and that was still very good.

This is the second time we've eaten here, the first being a few years ago shortly after it opened. While the food was good, the service then was amateurish at best. Fast forward 2 years and the service still does not match the food & again is amateurish at best. I don't think we'll be returning any time soon.

A hidden gem in Hastings, with wonderful food & service (although the service was a bit spotty on a busy Saturday night). But definitely worth the drive to Westchester.

We met the owner/chef at Meritage in Scarsdale and liked him and Meritage where we have been several times. He went to the C.I.A. which impressed us and had great stories. so, we decided to try another of his restaurants. We were not disappointed. Yes, we will return.

Very nice French bistro food. The menu was unsurprising but the specials showed some more creativity. Everyone's meals were very good if a bit overpriced for the atmosphere (bar like) and service (bit inattentive). I would recommend and go back again.

This is a beautiful space. The service was excellent. The Delivery and presentation of the food was superb. The drinks were great. The taste of the food, however, was not consistent with virtually everything else. The duck confit was too salty. The pork schnizel was too dry. The coq au vin seemed to have an old taste. Frankly it was a little dissappointing. We did enjoy the desserts however. We will go back because we really liked the space. I am hoping, however, that the food will be better next time.

we loved this restaurant under the previous owners. All four of us were disappointed in our food. Clams--OK. Foie gras--sliced from a tin, cold, heavily salted, why? Onion soup--odd tasting broth, heavily salted. Salad--OK. Duck--strange sauce. Terrine--no good. Trout--OK. Steak frites with bearnaise--sauce not good at all, meat OK, frites disappointing. Drinks--lots of ice, practically no liquor.

We had dined at Buffet de la Gare many times and were interested to try St. George. We found the prix fixe menu to be fairly priced and the choices good. We enjoyed the escargots, trout and hangar steak. However, although I had written at the time of the reservation that we were celebrating a birthday (my husband's) there was no acknowledgement of this, as is often done at other restaurants.

I was very curious about the restaurant, but when we arrived, even though we had our reservation, we were told just walk in a pick a table. There were nobody at the bar, the two main dishes offered were out. The duck and the steak for two. Good selection of wines, service was good as the waitres+Host was paying attention to our table. The rainbow trout was very good, my steak was cook at the right temperature and was tasty. Not sure that I would return for a French meal. But never know. They carry good selection of oysters.

We enjoy coming over to St George , it's cozy, and we live French bistros. But we wish they would do what a lot of Westchester restaurants fail to and that is: Change the menu! Plus you have some classic French dishes. I wanted steak frites but I'm not eating flat iron or a rib eye. How about a classic sirloin? Add a Filet mignon or a cassoulet ? Salads ? Goat cheese? Lardons?
The meal was fine.

My mother raved about the rainbow trout - how fresh, the seasoning, etc. - the whole time she was eating it. She doesn't eat much and said she didn't think she could finish it, but she did because it was so good, she said. My steak frites had six or seven medium- to smallish-sized slices of steak and an enormous pile of frites for $27. The $14 Planter's Punch was gorgeous drink for a very hot, humid day. Since I don't live in NY anymore, I don't know if these are typical prices for what we got - seemed comparable to DC prices, but not to Maine's, which is my more current frame of reference.

True French bistros are a vanishing breed, but fortunately there is Bistro Saint George. It has the energy, charm and good, solid food of a typical French bistro and friendly, efficient service.
We usually eat there during the week and it is one of the best values around. Wish there were more restaurants like this, but we'll always have Bistro Saint George.
