Onion Soup Gratinee
Duck bouillon, confit & gruyere crouton
Mousse au Chocolate
flat iron, fries, bearnaise
We’ve been here several times. The smallish menu is always tasty and varied. Most of us tried the delicious looking trout which didn’t disappoint. Wines are reasonably priced and service was attentive. Don’t miss the chocolate mouse. Outrageous.
Delicious! Great wine and classic French dishes. Loved the outdoor tables with heat lamps and festive evening lights.
Overall everything was pretty good. We started with the oysters and the escargot, which were both very good. For entrees I had the steak frites -- the fries were lukewarm-to-cold but well-prepared, the steak was well-prepared, and the sauce was flavorful but a bit watery and there wasn't much of it on the plate. My companion had the trout, which she said was under-seasoned. But these are relatively small nits on a generally agreeable meal.
My only real complaint is that the wine list is small and not well organized -- there is a small selection of reds and whites by the glass, and then there is a "cellar" section of perhaps half a dozen bottles that are not organized in any apparent manner. Some of them are clear enough -- riesling, champagne, etc. -- but others are more mysterious, such as the wine I ordered whose entire description was "Cote de Beaune," a vintage, and a price consistent with a nice full-bodied Burgundy. But instead of the pinot noir I was expecting, out came a chardonnay. To the restaurant I would say that if the only description of a wine you list on the menu is the name of a region that is famous for red wine, you should probably also indicate that it is not a red wine. (To the server's credit he showed me the bottle before serving it, but I just glanced at the label to make sure it was what I ordered. It was dark enough in the restaurant that I couldn't tell that it was a white wine until after he opened the bottle. Maybe a "hey, I know you're ordering steak and just fyi this is a white wine" might have been helpful in addition to presenting the bottle per usual.)
If not for the wine debacle I would recommend Saint George. Maybe we'll come back if they have a BYOB night.
Cute little bistro. Apetizers and main course were declicious as was the bread.
The soup was a bit salty, but overall a remarkable dining experience.
Good French cooking at a cozy local resturant.
The BEST onion soup in the world!
A truly hidden gem if you like the french cuisine. Mussels and the chicken were amazing!!
Saint Georges is perfection. It ranks up there with Manhattan's Cafe Luxembourg and Odeon. We're so fortunate to have it right here in the Rivertowns.
French bistro vibe. Food is very good. Menu is limited which shows they concentrate on the dishes they are making. A little pricey but worth it. Wine is also very good.
Wonderful food, ambiance and service. A little gem.
Always wonderful at St George
Loved our meal here. Just delicious and presented with care.
Still delicious food but lacking the special quality it had in its former days
Had a great time celebrating my birthday. Staff were all friendly and helpful and gave great service. Food was delish. Would definitely patronize again.
One of the best restaurants in Westchester. It is a beautiful place with delicious food.
We love St. George and have dined here many times. We came this time for a Sunday Brunch and were hoping for a more varied brunch menu so that was our only disappointment. Food was great and we will certainly return
Excellent food and service. A wonderful experience! Will definitely be back
Long time favorite
Very nice neighborhood restaurant (often overlooked but should not be!).
Attentive staff, especially Mike (Mtre 'D)
Excellent food, our table had the braised lamb and roast chicken. Both very flavorful! The French fries were exceptional.
Good reasonable priced wine list as well.
Great service, very friendly staff. Blanc de blanc was not properly chilled...a disappointment for sure. Loud large party at neighboring table..not restaurant's fault. Otherwise, staff, food, service all above par
Great food , lovely atmosphere!
Just outstanding. The food is truly excellent French food. And the service solicitous without being fussy. Great wine list.
The food was delicious but the mashed potatoes were served cold after I sent back the steak for further cooking. They should have kept the mashed potatoes warm while further cooking my steak.
Truly French bistro. Great food and wine, good service and ambiance. Great value.
Lovely restaurant and service was excellent. Arctic char was a bit of a disappointment but still very good.
Had poulet frite and steak au poivre. Both were excellent. Cocktails were also excellent. Also had a Saison Dupont which is difficult to find
We love St. George. We will dine there again and we recommend it to anyone who's looking for very good French food in a pleasant setting
Lovely evening outside dining
No mussels which was very disappointing as this is a signature dish for the restaurant, The normal ribeye subbed for flank steak at the same price with more Pomme Frites than anything else on the plate for $30.00.
The food was good but the value for money was missing. I have been here 4 other times before but this visit was off, including the wait staff. Maybe just a Summer time funk...
Small selection on menu but food is fresh and very well prepared
This goes down as one of the worst experiences trying out a different restaurant. We went for a Sunday dinner and to check it out for a potential wedding shower venue.
We had made 7pm reservations and when we arrived, there was no host or hostess. A waiter came by and I told him our name and reservation time. He said, "inside or out"?
We said, "inside" as it was very humid. He told us to pick one of two tables in the back. They were not set up, nor did they look like they were recently cleaned. The mat at the front of the entrance was also very dirty. Not a good sign. While we waited for someone to come over, my partner checked the event room upstairs. He said the first thing was the musty smell. It looked quite different (not in a good way) than the pictures on their website. So, no chance for a wedding shower. We waited and waited and waited. No one came to set up or to stop by and tell us they were sorry they were busy or shorthanded. After 20 minutes, we left. So, I can't report on the food, only the cleanliness, and poor service.
Great outdoor seating! Views of the river. Amazing fries.
Menu was too limited and steak was overpriced--but tasty
Loved the French onion soup, the mushroom gnocchi, and the braised lamb.
Very disappointing. My Husband had steak au poivre which is a favorite of his. There was almost no pepper, certainly no peppered crust and almost no cognac sauce. I had the trout which was inedible as it was extremely salty probably from all the bacon in the sauce.
Will not return
One of my favorite places to eat, so glad it has survived this past year and a half. Highly recommend the escargot, gnocchi, steak au poivre and créme brûlée. Haven't had a bad cocktail there yet. Love the ambience and the staff is lovely and personable.
Great little restaurant with good food and service. Menu is a bit limited but overall great restaurant to chat with friends
Lovely, quaint setting for a casual hut delicious dinner with friends. Great cocktails!
Always fabulous. The food is superb, the ambience is very French bistro, and the wait staff is incredible.
Wonderful food and great service. We loved beef tartar and rainbow trout.
We have ordered here and it’s sister location numerous times to support the local businesses during the pandemic. The food on this trip was great as were the servers. Unfortunately, we were seated at the end room of the 2nd floor away from any of the atmosphere—this was with a reservation. It was disappointing to finally want to be around people and to feel stuck miles away. We asked to move to a more lively location but that was flatly denied. Make sure when booking a reservation to ask for a specific table.
