Long time favorite
Very nice neighborhood restaurant (often overlooked but should not be!).
Attentive staff, especially Mike (Mtre 'D)
Excellent food, our table had the braised lamb and roast chicken. Both very flavorful! The French fries were exceptional.
Good reasonable priced wine list as well.
Great service, very friendly staff. Blanc de blanc was not properly chilled...a disappointment for sure. Loud large party at neighboring table..not restaurant's fault. Otherwise, staff, food, service all above par
Great food , lovely atmosphere!
Just outstanding. The food is truly excellent French food. And the service solicitous without being fussy. Great wine list.
The food was delicious but the mashed potatoes were served cold after I sent back the steak for further cooking. They should have kept the mashed potatoes warm while further cooking my steak.
Truly French bistro. Great food and wine, good service and ambiance. Great value.
Lovely restaurant and service was excellent. Arctic char was a bit of a disappointment but still very good.
Had poulet frite and steak au poivre. Both were excellent. Cocktails were also excellent. Also had a Saison Dupont which is difficult to find
We love St. George. We will dine there again and we recommend it to anyone who's looking for very good French food in a pleasant setting
Lovely evening outside dining
No mussels which was very disappointing as this is a signature dish for the restaurant, The normal ribeye subbed for flank steak at the same price with more Pomme Frites than anything else on the plate for $30.00.
The food was good but the value for money was missing. I have been here 4 other times before but this visit was off, including the wait staff. Maybe just a Summer time funk...
Small selection on menu but food is fresh and very well prepared
This goes down as one of the worst experiences trying out a different restaurant. We went for a Sunday dinner and to check it out for a potential wedding shower venue.
We had made 7pm reservations and when we arrived, there was no host or hostess. A waiter came by and I told him our name and reservation time. He said, "inside or out"?
We said, "inside" as it was very humid. He told us to pick one of two tables in the back. They were not set up, nor did they look like they were recently cleaned. The mat at the front of the entrance was also very dirty. Not a good sign. While we waited for someone to come over, my partner checked the event room upstairs. He said the first thing was the musty smell. It looked quite different (not in a good way) than the pictures on their website. So, no chance for a wedding shower. We waited and waited and waited. No one came to set up or to stop by and tell us they were sorry they were busy or shorthanded. After 20 minutes, we left. So, I can't report on the food, only the cleanliness, and poor service.
Great outdoor seating! Views of the river. Amazing fries.
Menu was too limited and steak was overpriced--but tasty
Loved the French onion soup, the mushroom gnocchi, and the braised lamb.
Very disappointing. My Husband had steak au poivre which is a favorite of his. There was almost no pepper, certainly no peppered crust and almost no cognac sauce. I had the trout which was inedible as it was extremely salty probably from all the bacon in the sauce.
Will not return
One of my favorite places to eat, so glad it has survived this past year and a half. Highly recommend the escargot, gnocchi, steak au poivre and créme brûlée. Haven't had a bad cocktail there yet. Love the ambience and the staff is lovely and personable.
Great little restaurant with good food and service. Menu is a bit limited but overall great restaurant to chat with friends
Lovely, quaint setting for a casual hut delicious dinner with friends. Great cocktails!
Always fabulous. The food is superb, the ambience is very French bistro, and the wait staff is incredible.
Wonderful food and great service. We loved beef tartar and rainbow trout.
We have ordered here and it’s sister location numerous times to support the local businesses during the pandemic. The food on this trip was great as were the servers. Unfortunately, we were seated at the end room of the 2nd floor away from any of the atmosphere—this was with a reservation. It was disappointing to finally want to be around people and to feel stuck miles away. We asked to move to a more lively location but that was flatly denied. Make sure when booking a reservation to ask for a specific table.
As always, Saint George never disappoints! I love the outdoor dining pods although I’ve been unlucky with the rain the last couple times I’ve been. Highly recommend!
A shadow of its former self. Paired down menu, service and portions. Seems hard hit by the Pandemic, we hope it recovers to its full potential once again.
The food was delicious. I will definitely return, and I highly recommend.
Both the mussels and the steak frites were very good. Fries are some of the best I’ve ever had. Good wine selection as well. Staff very friendly
Great food, charming service and the ability to linger with friends to prolong the delight!
Great customer service. Good quality food prepared nicely. Good wine list and very friendly staff.
We go there once a week. It's always a fabulous experience!!!
Beautiful space, great service. French classics competently prepared, and a nicely curated wine list. Highly recommend.
We really enjoyed our dinner. Perfect bistro French food and very accommodating service. Their patio set up is amazing!
On arrival at the restaurant for an 8:15 reservation (at 8:19) a staffer sat outside the restaurant staring at us and announced "We're closed." I said that can't be we have an 8:15 reservation. He went inside to check. (We were left outside). Another staff, said "chef closed the kitchen").Same protest from me and I demanded to speak with the manager or owner. Same interchange with person presenting as dining room "captain", who could not have been ruder. "Yeah that was an Internet reservation" (doesn't count?) and "What time did you get here..8:24" (after we were kept waiting for five minutes outside in the street.
It took persistent VOCAL demands inside the restaurant that we be served before they relented (the captain wouldn't address us again). No comps or even apologies were offered. The wait staff were very nice afterwards (they were probably highly embarrassed) and attentive; however, the kitchen turned the food out too fast.
I saw others turned away after us. The restaurant is supposed to operate until 10 PM
As usual great food service and ambiance especially when seating outside
Dang the gnocchi was absolutely delicious but at $25 they only serve you 8 to 10 pieces - so $2.50 a piece! Not worth it.
Also service was in a word: lousy. Had to flag down waiter at every turn for every need…
I want to go back but please serve more food and tell waiters to stop by every once in a while please!
I enjoy this place a lot. Only drawbacks were, no specials, and they removed both the duck and coq au vin from the menu. Still a great place though.
Asparagus app is epic - fries are best in rivertowns - service is perfect - drinks are amazing- love a more expanded menu post covid - thank u St George!
This visit didn’t live up to my memory of my last dinner at Saint George. We had expected to have the weeknight prix fixe which is still listed on Open Table. However, when we sat down and I asked for that menu, I was told they don’t offer it anymore. Food was good, although the escargot was overcooked and didn’t have much sauce. I enjoyed our wine and service was attentive. I would have preferred to sit outside, but all tables were taken. I was told there would be a 45 min to hour wait for one. However, it appeared they opened up sooner.
Menu is quite limited and there aren’t specials, thus after a couple of visits it gets repetitive. Two entrees out of six or so come with French fries; would be nice to have more variety. One person in our group ordered the Mussel, she was not pleased with the taste of the sauce.
Ability to eat outdoors on a nice evening is really pleasant; even though it is street, fortunately there is not too much traffic to be detrimental to the ambiance.
