Saiko Sake and Sushi Bar
Fabulous service by Steve. Great good and ambience.
This place has the best sushi! Melt in your mouth!
Fish was super fresh. Love that Happy Hour is EVERYDAY and ends at 6:30pm!
Best sushi ever! Huge thanks to Christal for her most excellent sushi!
We LOVE Saiko Sushi!! It is put go to place for birthdays and family dinners. The fish is amazing and don’t miss out on The Dirty Rice! Explore the sake flights;they don’t disappoint. You just have to go try it! Words can’t convey the hospitality and great sushi service.
Best sushi in San Diego! Always an enjoyable experience to sit at the sushi bar and get to know the sushi chef. Tonight Giancarlo exceeded all expectations with his "chef's creation". Thank you!
An amazing meal and wonderful service. The best omikase I’ve had. Rolls are great and the sake list is tremendous. Have fun!
The Saiko Salmon Nigiri is what keeps me coming back, it's the best salmon I've ever had!
Omikase with Oscar tonight. The food was excellent incredible fantastic mind blowing etc. our wonderful friends Ron and Devora joined in the culinary hedonism that is Omikase
Awesome sushi bar sake flight was also very good according to my wife
Ivan was a fantastic server, very informative and excited to explain specials and general menu items. Kristina is an excellent sushi chef and made the whole meal wonderful, will definitely return and try other recommended items!
We had 2 different servers while there & one was great while the other (a girl with glasses & reddish hair) was not great. She treated us like we were an inconvenience when we tried to order. The other server was prompt but not as attentive which left us with this server more times than not. They did not have a hostess so the servers were also seating guests which took them away from the tables. It look over 2.5 hours for dinner. Beer special was good, sushi was fine, but the star was the garlic edamame.
A bit slow to get out food, bit loved coming in early to miss the crowds!
Enthusiastic staff gave great recommendations. Try the sake flights to see what you like. Eel sauce ice cream was incredible and unexpected. Noisy but still managed to have conversation. Will definitely go back!
Saiko is a funky neighborhood favorite with delicious food, a humongous sake menu, and friendly knowledgeable service. All the traditional sushi items are on the menu if you want them, but go for the more creative and unexpected twists on classics.
Everything was absolutely delicious and excellent knowledgeable service
OMG. Saiko Sushi is always on point. We come here for most special occasions and they are so gracious to even meet an allergy issue. Absolutely love the sake menu! my fav is Mystery. Try the rainbow roll and saikoroll. You can’t go wrong with any roll. Oh and Tokyo Dirty Rice.. a must!
Went here on a date night and overall everything was great: ambiance, service, lighting, etc, but the actual sushi was pretty bland and uninspiring, not horrible, and for the price it was a great value but if you're looking for exceptional sushi look elsewhere.
Chef Anthony's staff is talented and very attentive. We had a great time and the Saikorama roll is our favorite. Thanks for the amazing food
We love this place! They have the most amazing sake selection and the food is awesome.. We celebrated our sons graduation from college. The rainbow roll is to die for and you must try the Dirty Tokyo rice! They’re so helpful making some adjustments as well to help with a food allergy. This is THE BEST sushi spot in San Diego.
Visiting from out of town and absolutely love the fresh sushi at Saiko Sushi!
We had a birthday dinner for our daughter on this latest trip to Saiko Sushi and it was a five star experience, as always. Our waiter, Chris, recognized us and greeted us warmly. He also suggested a great option for sake, which we really enjoyed. The food was delicious and came out quickly. We had Veggie Tempura app and Roboto, Dear John, Veggie, and California rolls. All the dinner rolls were fresh and so yummy! We also ordered the seasonal spring roll dessert and it was PHENOMENAL!! This is our favorite and “go-to” sushi joint in San Diego and we are never let down. We bring our kids often and the waiters are very helpful and knowledgeable about all the rolls. They help the kids explore and expand their tastes. The service is always above par and we have never had a meal we didn’t absolutely love!
great food + service but very very noisy which was a bit disapointing
Very reasonable prices for good quality sushi with friendly chefs and servers.
Had dinner with my husband and a friend. Sushi quality was amazing, and sake selection was great. Our server was helpful in advising us on which sake flights to try. Would definitely recommend and will return when back in the SD area.
This place is a must if you like fresh sushi & variety of sakes. The raw salmon & runs were exquisite & so fresh. Loved the calamari & spicy garlic aioli dip. Ask for one of the specials! We've been 2x to this restaurant & found out outstanding both times. Very attentive staff. We're from Vancouver, Canada (city of great sushi) & we loved it here. Even our 10 year old grandson gives it the thumbs up for a second time.
We finally made it to Saiko Sake without our kids...but, the greeter gal was unpleasant. Arrived on a Saturday night at 6pm with more than half of the tables empty. First greeting was do you have a reservation instead of Hello and welcome... Then, we were offered at the sushi bar only...Anyway, we ended up with a manager waiting on us whom we finally shared our comments. He was pleasant and understood...and ended up taking care of us at the end. We spend $10-20k a month and a good amount of that on dining as we do not cook... So, I hope that others aren't turned off by the same idiot staff whom doesn't see the value of accommodating clients with empty tables. Rest of the staff was great...but we'll have to think on if we'll be heading back there. Luke Kensen, north park
Ruby is a fantastic Sushi Chef..very talented! We always love going to Saiko Sushi!
The waiter and food was awesome, but the male sushi chef didn't know much about new items on the menu saying "the owner wants us to push these items." That doesn't help explain the items and just makes the sushi chef look incompetent.
Fun dinner spot with sake flights and interesting sushi options that were very enjoyable. Servers where great too.
My girlfriend and I feel that this place is so good that we've stopped going out to other places so we can save our money and blow it all at Saiko. Their sushi always blows our mind and we have never been disappointed.
Ivan was a great server! He took our dining experience to the next level. He was knowledgeable about the menu, passionate about what Saiko served, and really funny. Thank you!
The food and staff are amazing. Do not pass up an opportunity to eat here.
Amazing restaurant. Best sushi in town.
Food was quite good. Some dishes took way longer than they should have as it was still early and not that busy
My experience was GREAT we had the best customer service I’ve ever seen.Ivan was a wonderful server
I normally do not post bad reviews but we had an exceptionally bad experience. Our server forgot to order our appetizers (miso soups + kimchi), so we received them after the main sushi rolls arrived. I had to ask for hot water with lemon 3 times - it came 30 minutes after placing the order. Everything just seemed disorganized and we felt like an afterthought even though we were right in the middle of the restaurant. My sashimi was great, but all of us agreed that as a whole, the food was subpar and lacking in overall seasoning - especially the Shishito peppers.
This is unfortunate since 2 of us had previously dined at the location in Coronado and really enjoyed it.
Everything we tried was delicious and the service from Chris was top-notch! Fresh, fresh fish on all the dishes we tried. Very flavorful preparation.
I was referred here for sushi by a fish wholesaler in San Diego (Catalina Offshore Products) I was not impressed with the quality and preparation of the food. The tempura was soggy and mushy-the nigiri was small and looked like it was not fresh and the roll I ordered was not what I had asked for
What an amazing experience
