Fabulous as always, food was excellent, service awesome, love continue back here.
Had a great happy hour! A fun night.
Far different from anywhere I have been before. The food was incredible and I loved the Asian fusion feel to the menu. 6 of us all enjoyed it and would happily go back again. The staff were friendly and fantastic too.
Finally an Asian-Fusion place that hit all the right spots, yet knows what to leave well alone.
It's "bold" to bring an Asian party to a Asian-Fusion place, my cousin remarked. But if you come in with an open-mind, and expectation of a western meal, this place can change minds. We all had a blast. The food hit the right balance, offering what we love of both Western and Asian (which is a rarity). The staff were very accommodating and polite, though we constantly tried to push our luck with our reservation. The vibe was, dare I say, non-pretentious. The cocktails we on point with the mixologist at the table! The shaking beef impressed even the steak aficionado of the table. The only hic-up (out of many triumphs) was rice dishes were soggy. But chef owned up to it (which, in itself, is worth noting.) And we felt confident it was a one-time thing.
The food in general was comforting yet adventurous! Which made for good times. And I'm just overall happy that (can be tough) crowd was happy.
The food was mediocre. We will not return here.
Great experience on our first night in Vancouver. We had been craving some Asian food since the Rockies some weeks earlier. This place was spectacular. The food was superb, a great atmosphere and the staff couldn’t do enough for us. Would definitely recommend. Had we been in Vancouver for longer we would return without hesitating!
This would be my 4th time here. I like it. The food is great and the prices quite reasonable. I was surprised how quiet it was that night.
Everything was amazing! Would absolutely recommend!!!
Modern take on classic Chinese. The garlic chicken was the standout dish for me, although the pork spring rolls were a very close second. Modern design, Saturday night was busy and loud but atmosphere was great.
Outstanding. The service was great. They went out of their way to find us a table. The food was delicious- we shared many dishes. The restaurant was packed, with large groups celebrating birthdays, but the restaurant was still surprisingly quiet. We will be back again - often.
We sat at the bar last Friday and had an enjoyable visit - the ambiance was great! Food ordered: Pork + Kimchi Dumplings, Vietnamese-style Shaking Beef (comes cooked medium) and Szechuan Tan Tan Noodles (so yum) -- recommended! For cocktails: Sai Woo Sour & Hanoi Mule are refreshing and light! The only flaw was the service at the bar was a very slow, but there was a lady (likely management/head hostess) who came by a couple times to ensure we were happy with our seating and the menu! Super friendly - the one-on-one attention was highly appreciated. Great date spot!
Great food. Good service Beautiful room. Very noisy.
Ambiance was really great! It’s a perfect place for date night or even a night out with friends. The Duck Confit noodles were dry, but the duck itself was really flavourful. The highlight was the Chinese Paella, it reminded me of a slightly tangier fried rice. We wanted something fried, so we went with the Taiwanese Fried Chicken. It was similar to any other taiwanese fried chicken. Overall, the service was great! Our server was very friendly and gave us great recommendations.
Went last weekend with friends for the first time. Perfect lounge-ambiance to relax and enjoy a nice shared menu
Excellent food, service and vibe!
We went two nights in a row!!! Great service , good food knowledge , awesome ambiance. Yum!!!
My wife thought when I picked this place - one of my China Town old haunts - totally wrong - located in an area that is upgrading but they’ve set an example
Awesome experience. Great food. We loved this restaurant. I would go back many times.
Food was delicious and ambience was great. However, it took a long time for dishes to arrive.
A fine discovery in old Chinatown: a hidden gem! A place with quite a buzz. Food was very good and definitely innovative. I would like to try more dishes.
The food was really good especially the garlic chicken. The only fault was my friend’s coffee tasted like instant coffee. It was not drinkable!!
Celebrating my birthday with a girlfriend. The food was absolutely delicious and I was treated to a delicious chocolate cake for my birthday! Thank you so much for a great experience and I love the ambiance there. Will be back with my husband and son :)
excellent asian cuisine in a casual atmosphere. Would return again, but with a larger group so we can share.
Delicious and unique food. Especially enjoyed the Korean beef scallion pancakes.
Beautiful interior with cool light fixtures and projected photos also made the dining experience interesting.
Had a lovely dinner with friends. Our food was delicious & came out promptly. It’s definitely a happening place! Lots of good energy!
Absolutely delicious food and beautiful restaurant. Service could be improving or perhaps they were under staffed. But it got to the point when we considered ordering two rounds of drinks because it always took so long for someone to walk by. That being said, the food was great and we'll be back. Hoping for more attentive service next time!
Yummy food, great service, fun atmosphere...what more can one ask for?
tasty interesting food. the korean fried chicken was really good and the duck noodles were also a favorite .great venue, good vibe. a selection of craft beers, wine and a cocktail list.
I was not fan on the DJ - Music was too loud and we can’t talk at the table.
Lovely meal, server was great!
Love the room & decor
Excellent food, ambiance and decor. As a table of four we were all very impressed with Sai Woo. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be return patrons.
Late night cocktails and eats. The cocktails were great but the popcorn chicken was pretty gross—dry, no flavor and hardly any chicken. The Szechuan chicken was very spicy which the waitress did warn us about. My husband had that dish and enjoyed it.
Our friends had the beef noodles and the Brussel sprouts dish. They looked good and both seemed to enjoy it
Very friendly service and great atmosphere
Every dish was more delicious than the next. It was delightful. Classy, yet unpretentious. The dishes were thoughtful and perfectly executed. Everything on the menu looks fantastic. I definitely will be back to try more.
Great food. We had Vietnamese beef, confit duck noodles and green beans. Everything was perfect. Very good service with knowledgable staff. Great night out
Food was great! Our bartender was amazing. We came on a Thursday and it was quite.
The food is very creative and delicious - our service was very mediocre unfortunately.
Sai Woo was very accommodating of my large group. The food was good but at times the waitress was a bit hard to track down. It would have been nice to have more vegan/vegetarian options on the menu. I ordered the cauliflower and tofu and the portion of tofu was quite tiny. I was still starving after my meal.
The fried rice was so tasty and they accommodate your dietary restrictions to the best of their ability.
The portion is on the smaller side, compared to the price we pay.
However, I see why they say you have to visit there at least once!
Very tasty combinations of flavours in Asian fusion food. Salt and pepper squid and dumplings particularly good. Very friendly and efficient server neglected to bring one of the dishes we ordered, but no big deal. Her dessert recommendation was bang on. Very good value. My second visit, I will return.
Food was bland. Menu items sound much more rich and savory than the execution of it. Ambience was confusing. There was a DJ dropping house beats like its London’s Ministry of Sound in the 90’s. I’m a fan of the music, but the place seemed more like a cocktail bar and club with food as an afterthought. Service was good, but wouldn’t consider this place again especially considering the rich diversity and offerings of Vancouver and Richmond’s Asian food scene.
