Fantastic food, great service, funky space and good value.
Service was very good and the food was fantastic! Very, very tasty! Selection of drinks was small, but the ones offered were very good. Would go back again, for sure!
We felt that the happy hour was a poor venue and in general the restaurant is good but not as great as many have said.
Food was really good and the atmosphere is great.
Great gluten free options, making it very accommodating (and delicious) for someone who is celiac!
Server was excellent. Couple next to us. (Less than a foot between table) were watching Chinese video on each of their phones without ear buds. Very loud and disruptive. Bothered couple at the table on other side as well .Spring rolls showed up burnt (not carmelized on bottom we are talking black!) We were told they were frozen and had to be in fryer that long to reach safe internal temp. Frozen spring rolls ugh! Shrimp Gyoza also poor quality Great drinks. Go sit at bar have a drink and skip food!
Friendly staff, good food , well worth the visit. I would definitely go again on my next visit to Vancouver
Very nice restaurant with a little
menu. For European customers the dishes are slightly too sweet as we prefer not to have extra sugar. Quality and freshness of meat, seafood and vegetables is excellent! Service was very good!
A great place for dinner with menu choices that pleases both adults and children. The decor was a nice surprise. We’ll be back!
Was an absolutely amazing experience! Our server was a gem, Julie, and the food was absolutely amazing!’
This is not really Chinese food at all, but Chinese food heavily adapted to modern Western tastes. Brussels sprouts and olives feature !
It’s all okay, just not the authentic Chinese food we wanted.
Excellent service, delicious food. The spring rolls were outstanding. Would definitely recommend and come again.
Using open table means worst table even in a half empty restaurant
We had a really great evening. The food is amazing, lovely atmosphere, and friendly staff.
Excellent meal/value/service, buzzing atmosphere so rather noisy.
Would happily visit again
The food was interesting and very tasty, the wine, we chose Spanish, was excellent and the service was friendly and efficient. We were very happy with this restaurant.
Our server Tracey was both knowledgeable and personable. She explained the custom of ordering various dishes with the expectation of sharing them, and could list every ingredient in any menu item. Sai Woo was pleasantly decorated and impressively quiet. We enjoyed our meal and would be pleased to return.
AMAZING FOOD AND SERVICE.
If we hadn't already pre-booked , we would probably have walked on by this restaurant as the exterior belies the wonderful experience in store.
The 'Asian fusion' menu was a new one for us. However, under the excellent knowledge of our waitress Andrea, ( who expertly guided and suggested options,) we ended up with probably the best meal out of our holiday in Canada. A memorable feast.
Wonderful service, yummy cocktails, cool space, great food. Great dining experience and will definitely return.
We tried a lot of things off the menu, and they were all excellent!
Our first visit, prompted by a desire to find a lovely spot to eat prior to a concert at The Imperial. What a gem! Every bite was amazing. When we are back in Vancouver we will definitely have Sai Woo on our to-do list!
Went there on a date. Chose to sit at the bar.
Had a really positive experience.
Amazing food, very friendly service, and beautiful ambiance and energy.
Great food and atmosphere. Food is well-priced. Worth checking out.
As a vegan was pleased there were several items to choose from, all of them delicious!
The fusion vibe is strong with this one. During non-club hours it's a very nice place to be for a "Chinese restaurant". Definitely different from you usual suspect of yumcha and family restaurants in the neighborhood. The food is very well prepared and tastes great. Meat is succulent and flavoring is just-so. We were sat at a table with a view to the skylight but the skyline is covered by litter and it was so filthy that we were taken aback from it. Otherwise the interior has a very Asian city look to it and it's got great attention to detail.
The service and food was amazing !It is a great hidden place in chinatown .
Amazing food and service... Will definitely be coming back
Looks can be deceiving...viewing SW from the outside, I was a bit underwhelmed. Upon entering the place, however, I was exposed to a delightfully ambient restaurant. Julie, our waitress was welcoming, friendly and helpful. The bottle of grenache went well with veggie dumplings, fried rice, tofu and cauliflower and roasted Brussels sprouts. Highly recommend this place.
Great little place in Chinatown. We were blown away by the flavors and received excellent service! Try the Brussel sprouts, you won’t be disappointed.
My two friends and I loved Sai Woo. It was our first time there and we were impressed by the atmosphere and the food. However, after I left, I realized that my vegetarian chop suey had a scant amount of vegetables when the menu had promised lots. My friends loved their food and so did I at the time but was too busy visiting to notice that the chop suey was almost all noodles.
I was super disappointed. Two days prior, I called to change my group reservation from 6pm to 7pm, and was told that because they had a large number of groups that night it wasn’t possible.
When we arrived we were put downstairs in the basement, for my 30th birthday, and it was as if the restaurant just opened. It was completely dead until about the time we left at 8pm.
Super disappointing and certainly didn’t make my 30th birthday memorable.
I only go to Sai Woo on special occasions and it is usually to host out of town guests (special relatives or family). Every time I go there the experience gets better all the time. The Mantou buns were amazing! This time we also ordered a couple of bottles of white wine and had great service from Kate. Sally (I believe that's her name) should keep up what she is doing. I only wish I had more time to go to Sai Woo more often.
This is a lovely, well thought out space with great food in the heart of Chinatown.
The flavours are fusion Asian, beautifully cooked and presented. Lovely staff and nice atmosphere to round out a great dining experience.
However, over-sauced and over salted (coming from someone who LOVES salt and extra sauce)
A bit loud for conversation
Over-all would return / recommend
Very enjoyable from beginning to end.
Interesting flavorful dishes, attentive service in a smart setting. Prices are reasonable. Family style servings popular with group meals. My only negative is that many of the dishes have similar preparations and taste the same. But I would gladly return.
Amazing ! :D
Definitely my new favorite spot in Vancouver
Fabulous night with great friends, and a wonderful experience
This was my third visit to Sai Woo. The service was outstanding and the ambiance was perfect for a date night. We had drinks and more Han enough food and the bill for the four of us was extremely reasonable.
