Saha is a Middle Eastern dining establishment in San Francisco that is considered by locals to be one of the best-kept secrets. The menu is filled with modern twists on traditional Middle Eastern fare, with plenty of options for vegetarians, vegans and those with gluten sensitivities. The Saha menu blends flavors from the regions of Yemen, North Africa and Arabic countries.
Try the menu for dinner, lunch or brunch, which may include a lobster scramble or a baby kale and quinoa salad served with tofu. Try stuffed avocados and mushroom falafel at dinner or enjoy a sage-marinated duck or Saha red curry. The menu features plenty of options for both adventurous and hesitant eaters.
Everything was amazing! They made our 5th anniversary that much more special. I highly recommend this restaurant and can't wait to go back.
The food was great. Good for vegetarians and non vegetarians. The pistachio ice cream was fabulous.
I can't believe I have not heard of this restaurant until recently. The food and experience was amazing. It was nice to have a waitress that was friendly and not pretentious.
Excellent array of vegetarian options here. We adore Saha.
Was disappointed. Location was pretty sad.
Every dish was a treat. I like the small plate concept, so we ordered a bunch. Some were huge (especially the meat ones), and everything was special. Service was perfect. It was a great find.
The service was excellent. Some of the food was very, very good and some just good. I would defintely dine here again.
The hostess and staff were very accommodating, from holding the table though we were stuck in traffic to quickly serving and getting us out in time to make the show after.
Delicous and unique flavors and combinations make this a great place for larger groups so you can order everything you want to try and share amongst the group.
Very nice. One of our party was vegan so I was looking for a place that would meet her needs and at the same time offer the rest of the people meat and fish options. Everyone was impressed with the quality of the food and service. The only downside was the lack of a full bar -- a minor inconvenience as there is one right next store where we went for a nightcap.
the chef/owner is outstanding. My favorite dish is the lamb and hummus appetizer. The meat couscous is also one of the best in that variety. I'll keep coming back.
Great food! Great service! One of the best places to dine in the area.
Very friendly service; our server happily explained any questions we had about the menu. However, service became very slow towards the end of our meal. Our order was taken right away and our food came out quickly, but took 10 minutes to clear our table after we had finished, and then almost another 10 minutes to get the desert menu, and the dining room was only 1/2 full. The food, Mansaf and Seafood Tagine, was great. However, I feel that the portion:price ratio is a little off. Overall an enjoyable experience; I would have no problem coming back to eat.
Unusual combos, good service in a pleasant setting: we'll return.
Great and plentiful appetizers. As a main course we had a lamb dish and a seafood entree, both were fantastic. The lamb nearly melted in my mouth. Definitely worth coming back to.
It was a great place. Being a strict vegetarian it was really nice to see some tasty good fod for me :)
Was very skeptical before i went in .. but was completely satisfied when i came out.. i loved the place .
I loved the place ..and would recommend it to all my friends.
It was not very busy but we had an early reservation to catch a play. The service was very good and friendly and the food was excellent.
Took the veggie-girlfriend for her birthday and it was great! The best baba ganoush ever; hummus really showed the difference between good store-product and REAL dip made by people who now what the flavors are supposed to be. We were seated in a selcuded corner behind a curtain. They even put Happy Birthday touches on our dessert.
Our waitress, Jennifer, could easily explain any dish and was very comfortable with the wine list.
We ate at Saha during a visit to San Francisco in September. My husband and I are vegans so we were looking for a place that would be friendly to our diet. After some internet research, I found Saha. It is located inside a hotel so I think it is still a hidden jem. The menu is very friendly and offers many small plates. We had the hummus and pita, vegan ravioli, stuffed artichokes, and okra. All were fantastic. We had a vegan dessert that was made with vegan cream cheese that we still talk about. The decor is very romantic, dim light with candles, lanterns and a red glow. The service was very friendly and attentive. Highly recommended for an evening out.
Wonderful food despite the somewhat lonely environment
Our greeter and waitress was supoerb and she makes me want to go back
It was my birthday, and I felt pretty special. It didn't hurt that the food was good as well!
GREAT food! I loved that they had meat, chicken, fish AND vegetarian and vegan options.
I'm a vegetarian and it was nice to see SO many options for me. Wonderful, friendly staff and really interesting menu. I'll definitely go back!
I thought the food here was pretty good, very good for vegetarians. There was a lot on the menu that was veg friendly. The ambiance was ok, but it was a little small and having to walk through a hotel lobby to get to the restaurant detracted a little bit from it. Our waitress was excellent, however. She had good knowledge of the food and how it was prepared and made good recommendations to us, as well as performed the normal duties of refilling water, etc.
Food and service was outstanding but many of the tables were too close together so we asked to be moved to a smaller table in the corner for more privacy. So many good choices on the menu made it difficult to choose but we picked a nice combination of soup, salad, small plates and entrees that we shared and loved the cuisine. Would definately go back and recommend to others. Was also a bit on the pricey side on a tight budget but decided to splurge for a special night out. Was glad we picked Saha.
Food was excellent and many veggie/vegan choices as well. Service was attentive and friendly. Wish they would have had a couple of organic wines to choose from and more wine by the glass choices. This is our second time there in the past two months and everyone enjoyed their meals.
Friday was my second meal at this restaurant. It was very good, again. Saha has an entire page of small plates, so people who like that can happily order numerous dishes. Their entrees take another whole page, so those of us who like substantial meals are satisfied as well. There are dishes for vegetarians, vegans, organic food lovers, meat eaters... everybody you know will be happy with the options. And it's all been great. I especially like that the recipes are different than the ubiquitous "middle eastern cuisine" and that there are dishes unfamiliar to most Americans.
not a good value for so-so eats
Food v good. Svce exc. Everyone was friendly including chef/owner as we celebrated 3 brothers' birthdays. Only real complaint was how hot it was. Make sure to go on a very cool day.
This was our first visit and it was a winner! We selected Saha because of its proximity to a performance we were planning to attend later in the evening in the same neighborhood. There are many food and beverage choices. Our selections were beautifully presented and very tasty. The service was outstanding. We will return!!
Great food and wide variety. Good service. A bit empty, but it was a Tues.
Delicious and unusual, carefully prepared, with many vegetarian options. Good wines and desserts, and beautiful ambience in a smallish space. Intimate and friendly.
We had a wonderful time at Saha. This was our second visit and we were not disappointed. The menu has plenty of tasty options, both meat and vegetarian. We shared three dishes, all vegetarian and with the bread served along side, were well satisfied. Our waitress was knowledgeable and friendly. The room is nicely appointed and you get a real Mediterranean feefling. We would tell our friends about this downtown spot and would go again.
Traveling in the mid east alot, I think I know good mid east food. This fits the bill. The platter of roasted eggplant, hummos and harrissa where all very good and non commercial.Great Pita bread. The bistilla was quite tasty as the platter of lamb and rice with yogurt. It's in a hotel where as most hotel restaurants service is pretty good, this was so so at best.
Worth the trip! Park across the street. Good for parties so book the whole room.
A peaceful ambiance with excellent food and service. And a wide variety of Rieslings on the wine list! Saha is one of the few restaurants in the city that's great for vegetarians AND carnivores.
Dining experience was very good. Service, although not exceptional was good. Our server seemed a bit put off but she warmed up after a bit. Food was EXCELLENT and I would recommend Saha's to others.
Liked the fact that there were options for smaller plates. Price of food was very reasonable for what was presented. Would definitely return.
I hadn't been to Saha since they opened a few years ago. But, on a night out with the girls we decided to give it another try. Both of my girlfriends are vegetarian, and this menu offers several vegetarian dishes. We were all pleasantly surprised with our meals. Let me start by saying the service is some of the best in SF! Which we all know can make or break an evening meal. We decided to eat family style and order several small plates for the table. Our waiter helped us choose some of his favorites, which was quite helpful. Overall it was a great dining experience, and very good food.
We have been going to Saha for a couple of years now and the food is always very interesting and fantastic!
Great innovative food!
Great seafood and nice bread and dipping sauce. Perfect lighting, noise level, and service.
Our dining experience at Saha was thoroughly delightful. The waitress was very attentive, making suggestions based on our preferences. The food was scrumptious -- each dish was distinct, with a unique blend of spices and flavors. The desserts were amazing. And the prices are reasonable!
