It was amazing!
Food was good. Nothing remarkable. Each of us had a steak and they were fine. Not steakhouse quality but fine. Service was an issue. First, they brought the wrong drinks. After that was straightened out we ordered their suggested pairing of wine. The wine came about 15 minutes after meal was served. Meals were half eaten. The bill arrived and had several items on it that we did not have or order. It took two attempts to get the bill right. And about 20 minutes. I don’t believe this reflects well on their service.
Good food and service for a lunch business meeting.
Was my first time for dinner although I’ve eaten there for lunch. The menu is extensive with everything from steaks and seafood to main course salads and burgers. The complimentary bread came with a very tasty dipping oil. The Brussels sprouts appetizer was good. I had the meatloaf and it was very flavorful. The Ahi tuna was over cooked and the two other people didn’t like their burgers although I’ve ordered the burger before it and it was fine for me. The food quality is good or not so good with nothing being outstanding or really bad. The menu variety will keep me coming back but I think only for lunch if I’m in the area and not for a special occasion dinner.
The service however was pretty inattentive. I had to ask for bread, didn’t get a soda refill even after I asked for it. The waiter didn’t ask if we wanted dessert or coffee which we did. He was running around and looked stressed. Their wait staff always seems to have just started working there and to be inexperienced.
Eating there was strictly just having a meal and not a particularly pleaeant evening out for my birthday. It was just “Okay.”
We arrived for our dinner reservations at about 5:40PM on a Sunday. Firstly, the restaurant's atmosphere was very comfortable and relaxing. Secondly, the service was excellent! Our server, Jasmine, was very attentive while at the same time giving us our space. She checked on us at all the right times. She even labeled the individual items in our to-go boxes - a very nice touch! Finally, all of the food was excellent - our ribeye steak and salmon were perfectly prepared to our specifications! We were definitely impressed with with all aspects of this restaurant.
Food and drinks were very good. A bit pricey but servings are large, so it balances.
My family and I were visiting the ATL and when looking for a steak house Sage popped up so we decided to try it out. Service was really slow, my son sent his good back twice because it was cold. The waitress was acting like she didn't know what she was doing. For those prices, services and the food should have been flawless.
The food was very good. Nice selection on the menu and many nice choices. Our hotel shuttle was running late and we were about 15 min late for our reservation. The hostess seated us right away and did not make us feel like we had inconvenienced them.
Very noisy which made it difficult to carry on a conversation at our table. The food was average, nothing spectacular. Asked for some modifications on my meal which did not happen, so had to send it back which meant the rest of the table was half way done with their meal before mine arrived. In Sage’s defense, they did bring me a bowl of soup (which I was unable to eat due to food allergies) while I was waiting, so I did refuse it in an effort to not waste. This was our third time at this location & highly doubtful we will return. Plus, the hostesses need a dress code! Very disturbing they would be allowed to wear a) what appeared to be skimping work out clothes & b) a dress so sort you could see her behind & so low in the front she was popping out. Both were very distasteful & inappropriate ( in my opinion)
Took my wife here to celebrate her birthday. She loved the food! Service was great.
Good food, waitress was a little slow on telling specials but very nice and got food out timely. Good overall experience. Alpharetta location is better though.
My husband’s birthday
Sage is a very dark and romantic place. The food was outstanding, and the service was excellent. My only complaint is that they try very hard to upsell you on everything. No, I do not want to substitute my fish for the Sea Bass. No, I do not want the crab stuffing added to my fish. No, I do not want any toppings for my steak.
The food ranged from just OK to very good. The service was just a little off and the DJ in the bar made the entire place LOUD.
It's charging higher prices, but there's just something's not right. Torn "leather" on the benches, so so service etc.
I probably would not return.
Some friends called around 5:30 pm wanted us to go to dinner with them. We used Open Table to find a restaurant. All were booked until 7:30/8. Sage had space at 6:30 so off we went. Good decision! Food was excellent as was the service. Real nice pour of glass of wine to boot. Definitely will go back.
I showed up for dinner, this is my 3rd time coming but first time in the dinner area. Normally im just there for tapas and drinks- which are really good btw. This night it was both. We got there, honestly 15 minutes late to our reservation, but within a descent enough time to still be seated... The African american hostesses at the door where both unprofessional, rude, and ghetto. One who signed us in(taller slender with medium length hair) barely speak at all, she just stood there with a blank stare and wouldnt have said anything if I didnt smh, other than whats the name and shes coming to get you, And the next one- who sat us(shorter slender with long hair) came in and said out loud "Number ***, OH Hell Nah, Ununh, I'll be back.." Smh, Mind you we were the only ones really waiting at that time so I knew she was speaking of us and she knew she was being a ignorant on purpose! Our waiter was good and the food was great!! But they need to get the customer service of their hostesses together because it really set a bad tone. And Im usually not one to complain much but this was so offputting.. If anyone experiences this during your visit, Report it to the manager directly!!! We spent tooo much money in there to have been treated like that!
I have patronage Sage on other occasions for after work, hanging out in the bar area to enjoy the Tapas Menu, or on a date and just coming by to listen to a very good jazz saxophonist. Today I reserved a table for 4 for a birthday party. This was the 1st time for my 3 guests and the 1st time I enjoyed the dinning area. Everyone was impressed with Sage. 2 people I was there with are vegetarians and the menu did not have items for them. However, the waiter was very helpful as my guest pretty much created a dish for what was on the menu. The chef I was told was happy to create dishes for anyone and he did. My guest said the food was exceptional. The staff was professional and kind and the prices reasonable. My guests thanked me for introducing them to Sage and can’t wait to enjoy Sage again.
We all enjoyed our lunch, the service was great and we will be back!
Very good service. Food was excellent.
The food was really good.
The service, décor and food here was excellent. IT was dampened a bit by the volume of the live music. At times it was hard to have a normal conversation because of the music.
Thiss was not my first visit to Sage. I love the food, the ambiance and the service. It has now become one of my favorite spots.
This was a great experience, live music & delicious food. Pinot Noir was great & I would definitely go again!0
As for dinner I ordered a steak entrée which came out cold and overdone. Was sent back and brought a new one that was amazing. However, got my bill was charged for 2 entrees! Ask waiter to correct it but he said the manager on duty would not. So I waited 30mins to speak to the manager whom never showed. Finally I paid and left. They lost a loyal customer which is a shame b/c I really liked this place.
Pls Note: My waiter was amazing this was not his fault.
My husband went there for lunch and said the service was really bad but we were at a happy hour near there so we decided to try dinner...the service was really slow and when we got our food mine was completely wrong, I got my salad with my meal and I substituted sides but they brought me the wrong sides then they charged me for extra sides not as substitution. The food was good but it wasn't what I ordered, I was ordering low carb and I ended up picking through food as to not get rice. They charged us for extra sides which made our meal $130.00. What?!?! Very disappointed. I never write reviews so this should speak volumes....
Food was just ok was not worth the cost.
Nice birthday atmosphere and the waitress was awesome.
I've eaten at the Alpharetta location several times. Great service, food and atmosphere. THIS WAS NOT THE CASE @ THE PERIMETER LOCATION!! From the minute we entered, the service was terrible, it was noisy (can't even talk noisy!), and I've had better food at the Waffle House. $42 dollar "Surf-n-Turf" was a thin, fatty steak with, what I think, was supposed to be shrimp with crabmeat...side salad was additional $7....outrageous drink prices!!! This is NOT a fine dining restaurant, but BELIEVE ME, their prices are...
Unless you're looking for a loud, expensive, "club" environment, don't bother.....
We had a VERY LOUD table near us that infringed on our ability to communicate. The manager went out of his way to make sure we still had an enjoyable experience.
Good good, but expensive we thought. Nice ambiance, good service.
Great food. Pricier than expected given its budget ratings on the Internet. Understandably, given the quality of the food. Went in with a budget in mind and well exceeded it. The proprietor was no doubt pleased but I think it is a risky long term strategy on their part.
Great place to dine...
Pros- We made reservations and was seated immediately.
Con- It took our waiter forever to come to our table
Pro- The ambiance was nice
Con-It was really loud
The general manager came over and took chairs from our table and did not acknowledge us at all. When my husband addressed this issue, instead of listening to understand he corrected him about "they don't have customers they have guest."
I will never return to this particular location, but I will try another location.
Clearly, there was a disconnect between the server, the cook, and the floor manager. Next time, I will only attend the for bar experience, not for dinner.
Pretty generic menu, but not generic GOOD like some of the other similar places around. It is a high-ish end fern bar with nice decor. Just like many other places in that market segment.
Service was excellent, it was the "everything else" that didn't impress. The food was mall quality at fine dining prices and nothing was memorable.
Good food, great atmosphere, despite the dark lighting. We enjoyed Calamari (DELICIOUS) & Lettuce Wraps as appetizers, Lamb chops (DELIGHTFUL) and grilled salmon with spinach instead of haricot verts (TASTY) for dinner. One of our party had some dietary constraints, and it took the "team" a couple of tries to get his order right. For the trouble, one of the managers offered one free dessert to the table - Salted Caramel Cake. It was good too! We also enjoyed the bread that came after appetizers, but just prior to the meal. The olive oil/balsamic glaze mixture for dipping was great, but the waitress took our plates, so it was awkward and messy trying to eat the bread with no plates. Lastly, we enjoyed the live vocal selections from a really great musician with his guitar. I can't remember his name, but he was great!
Although we made reservations for 9:15pm; we had to wait an additional 30 minutes. The hostess was not friendly and considerate of those waiting with reservations. She never apologized for the wait and treated us if we were an inconvenience. She worked the desk both Friday and Saturday night with the same attitude. We thought the attitude came from us not having reservations so we made sure to make it for Saturday. Probably need to find her a position from the front desk.
We made a reservation , but they seated us on the dance floor with three other tables which were too crowded. We couldn't move. Very disappointed.
I had made a reservation for 7.15 but we weren't seated until 7.40. Even though the table we were taken to had been ready since we walked in the door, the hostess kept telling us it would take a couple of minutes to get our table ready. Another party of 2 people who didn't have reservations got a table before we did. As it was a Saturday night, there were several parties taking place, so the place was extremely noisy. Once we were seated, the service was good but the food was only average. I would certainly not go there again, given all the other restaurant choices in the area.
