Sage Student Bistro - Institute for the Culinary Arts
My daughter and I shared a charcutiers board which was very tasty and plenty for 2 people. The cured meats were made at the restaurant. We also had steak as out main course and we both enjoyed it. My daughter has an interest in possibly attending the school and the staff was kind enough to show us through all of the kitchens. I am going to book business lunches and dinners with them, as well as take friends.
Perfect setting.. fireplace lit.. snow coming down.. awesome food presentation.. personable staff..
This was an outstanding evening
The food was excellent.
The service impeccable.
The ambience was comparable to a 5 star restaurant.
Service and food was wonderful and the Rutherford wine was a nice surprise.
Very attentive wait staff and excellent food! I would highly recommend this dining experience.
We always love going here
The staff is always so attentive
My moms bday. The food was amazing and our server was sweet.
Wonderful food and service, as always!
Loved everything . . . food/service was awesome . . . for the experience the price was very very reasonable.
Such a good value! A sophisticated dining experience, we always get the prix fixe menu and have never been disappointed!
One of, if not the most, outstanding restaurant in Omaha. Have been many times and not once have I been disappointed. The food is outstanding and often something I have never had before. It is beautifully placed on the plate and I love all the little decorating food items surrounding each plate. The service is amazing and the staff can answer all the questions we have about what we are being served. Each course is great and each course gets better and better ending with spectacular desserts. That the restaurant is a class for the student at Metropolitan Community College only adds to the appeal. It really is a treat to go. It is fun to watch the expression of my friends faces when they have not been before and are exposed to the best restaurant in Omaha. On top of all of this, the prices are very reasonable. You can even take your own wine.
I would recommend the Sage Bistro to many people!!!
The service is outstanding, the food is amazing and I love what they do to support the students!
I am not sure if you can do this but it would be nice to have known we can bring our own wine. If that can be put on the site where you make reservations that would be helpful
Best meal in Omaha! It's definitely a hidden gem that you need to check out.
Best restaurant experience I have had in a long time. Excellent service, food and ambiance. I will be back. I hope this place stays a secret.
I’ve been spreading the word. Will do a neighborhood get together in December.
I have been to the Bistro many times, even before the ICA was built, and have always enjoyed the experience. The food is excellently prepared and served and the culinary students very attentive.
Sage Bistro has become our favorite restaurant in Omaha. Kudos to the students and teaching staff for their outstanding results.
This was a fun experience. My suggestions are: use salted butter for the sage butter, make sure servers can pronounce every menu item. Also servers should know what every element is on the plate. When it arrives at the table, a verbal explanation of the charcuterie would be nice.
The quality of food and service combined with the price point make this an incredible dining experience. It also is a great way to support the work of culinary students who will be the next generation of chefs and restaurateurs.
This was the most awesome experience in dining I’ve ever had! Took my daughter for Daughters Day and she was in awe!!! What a fabulous experience!!!
Service was outstanding; food was beautifully presented and delicious.
Dollar for dollar one of the best meals you can get in Omaha. There food was delicious and the plating was beautiful.
The students are wonderful! The value is wonderful! I will definitely be back!
Very good food and very reasonably priced. Service was outstanding. I had a shrimp soup of some kind, and I could taste the love the chef put into the dish.
Excellent food and service. Fantastic, however lengthy wait time between courses.
Love this place. Server - Anna was attentive and knowledgeable. The attention to service, food and plating was spectacular. and the value was un beatable.
The food was good and the wait staff were tremendous. They were polite and had great senses of humor! We were there for 2 and a half hours and our water glasses were kept filled. The entrees took a little extra time, but the flavor was worth the wait.
Food was wonderful but the portions should be a little larger. I'm not talking gigantic. Example just 1 more scallop. Dessert sample tray of 4 things was so small, we all got 1 thing but could not split and share. The carmel was smaller than a dime. Our waiter was always there to fill water glasses or ask if we wanted another wine. But it took too long between courses. After we ordered dessert I estimated we waited 15 minutes.
Enjoyed every bite!!! I have always said Sage Bistro is a 5 star restaurant at a 3 star price.
Very good food! I thought that each dish was absolutely wonderful and brought a new look on different foods. My only comment would be to help your servers pronounce the French words a little better. I know it’s a little thing, but correct pronunciation goes a long way when the customers speak the language! Overall though, I would definitely recommend Sage Student Bistro to a friend!
The Pre Fixe was AMAZING. WONDERFUL EXPERIENCE
Delightful bites and attentive service make this gem a fantastic place for occasion dinners, adventurous palates, and anyone wishing to support local culinary students. Order the prix fixe, you will not be disappointed!
Great food spent the evening with my daughter in law! Thanks for a memorable dinner
The six of very much enjoyed the fine dining at Sage. There was an opener served on small individual “spoons” that was absolutely delicious. Several of us had the gnudi starter which was also beautifully plated and tasty. We enjoyed our beef strip entrees as well as the lamb and pork entrees as well. We all agreed the lemon blueberry “ice cream” was scrumptious and a great way to end the evening.
Fun experience, great atmosphere, good food, wait staff good, although our server seemed a little less sure of herself, she could’ve done a better job explaining the dishes we were served. The amuse bouchée was great, bread and their signature butter, delicious, food presentation very nice. We didn’t have dessert, but several did and said it was very good. The small plate served at the end of the meal was perfect!
Amazing food, such reasonable prices. Loved the ambiance. Also felt great to support students learning community!
The service was outstanding. I would recommend them to everyone.
We have dined at Sage Bistro many times over many years. We understand the teaching/training scenario. We also realize that this was opening week. Saying all that it’s was a rough outing for front and back of the house. Our server knew nothing about the food and never really offered explanations unless asked, which we found odd. Appetizers were great, however the dinners were middle of the road, which is surprising. We will continue to return even though we feel a slippage in the operation.
This was my first time visiting and I will definitely be back. Everyone seemed happy to be there and our server was very pleasant. Excellent menu options and well worth the cost.
