Recommended by a local and this did not disappoint!. Coming from a foodie Town myself this was a phenomenal date night for my girlfriend's birthday. The elk was some of the best I've ever had. her meal was on Spot too and the show with the Diablo coffee was lots of fun.

The Sage Room is a lovely time capsule in the Tahoe Harvey's casino. The food, drink and service was great abet a bit pricey. Worth it for a special occasion/celebration.

The Sage room has a good ambiance, great service. The very expensive food was average. I had ordered $90 lobster tails for wife and they were dry and a bit overcooked. As for my prime rib, besides the portion being very big it didn't taste all that great. TBH, I was a bit disappointed.

Amazing food and wonderful service! We arrived for a birthday dinner early and they seated us right away. We had 2 very attentive servers who were great! Steaks and lobster were unbelieveble! We had teenagers with us and they loved the flambé chocolate dessert. The Sage room sign is a little hard to find in Harvey’s casino but once inside it’s worth it!!
Highly recommend!!!!

Excellent food, friendly staff. I know it’s a steak house but would be great to see a bit more vegetarian options.

Top notch service and food in a great quiet setting, yet right off the casino floor. This place has not changed in the 45 years I have lived here. I used to go more often, I think I will have to be doing that again. This place has been a well-run gem since forever.

Food was good and service was great. It’s pricey but for a special occasion or something you don’t normally do it’s very nice. It was very busy for a Monday night but they were still very attentive.

When you pay $50 a plate you expect your food to come out correct. The steaks were over done. The vegetables and the potatoes were bland. The servers were great. However the power went out during our meal! It was out for a majority of our meal. The alarm was going off the entire meal and the whole atmosphere was ruined. They did compensate for part of our bill. I would not go that the food was not cooked right too expensive

Wasn't certain what to expect as it is located inside Harvey's casino, but it's a really great oasis. Love the interior - very cozy. Service is excellent, sometimes a little too attentive - I don't want to spend my meal assuring the staff that we are fine. The food was really terrific. We actually ate there twice (once with friends) and tried lots of things - beef wellington (great), table side caesar salad (great), wedge salad (very good), shrimp cocktail (good), filet mignon (great), shrimp with risotto (shrimp were almost undercooked, risotto was just meh), prime rib (great) crab cake (great), and lobster bisque (great). Wine list is solid, but I would say overpriced. Overall, a great experience.

Sage will always remain one of my favorite restaurants in South Lake Tahoe. Love how they prepare salads in front of you on a cart the old fashioned way. The steaks are juicy and prepared with care!

Sage is a beautiful cozy classy rest in Harvey's South Lake Tahoe. The wait staff for the most part is attentive and pleasing to the eye. The portions are generous and they do desserts table-side with flame. This is a special occassion dining establishment as one can expect to spend at least $200 and up just for two people.

The food was a fixed menu for thanksgiving and was wonderful. The plates were large and full of all the fixings. Turkey both dark and white meat, mashed potatoes, stuffing, yams, broccoli, cauliflower and cranberries. The desserts were delicious and large portions. Our waiter and side help got us in and out in 30 minutes and came out stuffed. We would go back next year for another dinner.

This is a classic; from the hand-hewn wood that holds the inside space, to the menu of classic dishes rarely found, and almost never done well. Sage Room does do the classics; Steak Diane, Beef Wellington, table-side Caesar salad, bananas foster - the whole nine yards. They also offer one or two game options -- in our case, it was an elk chop so well executed and delicious my cordon bleu chef son and I were in stunned rapture. My beef wellington was incredible; this is a dish that requires precision, knowledge and and a Chef who demands excellence and in this case, everything was perfect. The vegetables, potatoes and the main event were perfect, bar none.

The cocktails we ordered were also impeccable. While a classic Manhattan isn't hard to execute, these were particularly well done. The bar has many high end options, so don't hesitate to ask for what you want. At the end of the meal, I tested my son's knowledge as I ordered a sambucca with three beans and lo and behold, it came with the father, the son and the holy ghost, along with the match. And THAT, folks, is how you know the person serving you knows how to manage a classic restaurant, a classic meal and a classic experience. He also made an excellent Caesar salad, which does indeed get a nod from me.

By all means, if you can afford the Safe Room, indulge yourself, there is no telling how long such classics will remain alive, and if they do, how long they will exist with such perfection.

Have to admit that the steak was overcooked and we sent it back and got it back overcooked again. Having said that the service was excellent but the food quality was below what could have been expected.

It feels like Frank Sinatra and Sammy Davis are in the room with you. That oldschool 1950s steakhouse feel. The service is excellent and the food is better. Desserts are out of this world

The food was so so and the pricing way to high, need to change your menu website to be the same as your restaurant menu. Ordered a wedge salad and bacon and onion rings were $3.00 extra for each all other restaurants I've been to that is included with a wedge salad. The rib eye that I ordered was ok nothing to brag about. The service was great.

This an old time steak house, a little dark, formal wait staff, an interesting history. You go to the Sage Room for a great steak or fresh seafood and they did not disappoint. The table side salad prep is fun to watch, and they are very good as well. Desert also features some entertaining options, all good. The wine list was limited but we were able to find an enjoyable wine at a reasonable price. This place has been there a long time and we have dinner there every time we're in Tahoe.

We were married in Lake Tahoe back in 1992 and dined at the Sage Room during our wedding weekend. We loved the experience and the food back then. We returned after 25 years to celebrate our 25th weeding anniversary and were not disappointed. The food was great, the service was top notch and loved the atmosphere. The only disappointment? When we arrived, the person at the front desk greeted us and wished us a Happy Anniversary. Unfortunately that was not passed onto the waiter, as he failed to acknowledge our anniversary. Other than that, we had a great time.

The food was great until they brought the entrees out. The ribeye had no flavor and was a poor cut of meat. The rack of lamb was mushy, with poor taste. The blackened tuna and caesar salad appetizers were excellent. Service was great as well. Very disappointed with the entrees though. Will not be returning
