Sage Room - Harvey's Lake Tahoe
The Sage Room’s décor includes original Native American lamps that were gifted to Harvey's from the Washoe Tribe, the original bar, and hand-hewn beams that were part of the original log cabin that housed Harvey's in 1944.
The Sage Room features unique appetizers and salads prepared table side, along with Black Angus steaks, poultry, veal, lamb, Beef Wellington and seafood. Dessert specialties include Bananas Foster and Cherries Jubilee, both prepared table side.

I think there should be more signs directing the way to the Sage Room. We were late for our reservation trying to find the place!
Wonderful evening. Food was absolutely incredible. The view of the lake was outstanding. Our experience from the second we entered the door to the second we left was one of the best dining experiences we’ve ever had. We will be back.
For decades the Sage Room had been our very favorite - the benchmark for all other restaurants around the world - but, unfortunately, this time we were extremely disappointed. We preferred the ambiance in the original location (intimate with dark wood and cozy booths) which provided an "elegant western steakhouse" feel. The restaurant has now been moved to the top floor of the hotel (which provides an amazing view of the lake) BUT absolutely no warmth or ambiance at all. Instead it's a very large, open, sterile environment. In addition, the dishes which were always prepared tableside were no longer being done at the table. They said it was cause of Covid but it seemed like they certainly could have done the tableside preparation with masks and gloves. That always enhanced the "dining experience" and allowed the chef to "custom make" your dish. Also, you'd enjoy the lovely aromas and "entertainment" of all of the various dishes being prepared throughout the restaurant........ not just your own..... particularly when it was a smaller, more intimate restaurant. VERY disappointed that the tableside prep was no longer being offered. About half of our dishes were up to their old standards (escargot is DELICIOUS, filets are tender and tasty, baked potatoes, etc.) but the dishes that we truly loved (tableside Caesar salad, tableside Bananas Foster) were just not as good when they are simply done in the kitchen. Bottom line: at least for us the Sage Room has lost it's character and lost it's magic. It no longer feels like a "special" place........ just another "Vegas-style" ultra-modern restaurant serving food.
We've always had a soft spot for the Sage Room because of their classic dishes prepared table side. Food and service were good but due to covid they've discontinued certain items. The Cafe Diablo used to be a show and after dinner drink in one! We missed it during our meal. We'll come back one table side service can be safely resumed.
Food was not up to Sage standard. $75 steak had a “paste” of blue cheese versus crumbles on it as advertised. Wasn’t that appetizing
Excellent service thanks to Hal and the Sage team. Great steaks. Great view of Lake Tahoe. Worth the time and cost.
Been going to Sage room “on Casino floor” location for about 30 years, and loved every visit, but now that they are on 19th floor, the whole vibe is wrong, not intimate and as classy as I have become accustomed to. The chateaubrieand(sp) was “off”, flavor not there, chewy, and just not impressive as the Sage Room was before.
It also bothered me that the serving cart is 5 feet long and multiple layers and they had at least two other tables food on same cart when they served us and in this Covid world, I dont want my food next to other unmasked diners so close. We were served first, and someone’s porterhouse or ribeye was about one foot from us, and since we were dining we had removed our masks..... sorry porterhouse/ribeye diners.
Come on Sage Room, get it together! Not sure If I will return 😢
We were celebrating our wedding anniversary and wanted somewhere special. We had gone to the Sage room before they moved up to the Kitchen 19 location and were always happy with the food and service. We were not disappointed, food was great and so was the service. Having a beautiful view of Lake Tahoe topped it off. Definitely recommend this restaurant.
Service always great. Everyone very friendly, helpful, and informative. Maitre de even came over to our table to explain something we asked our server.
They need to work on their food. The Sage Room was known for their excellent food and I wont go back there. For as much as is charged, it isn’t worth it.
Disappointed describes our experience. Waited over an hour for food. Jim, our server, did a good job. Apologizing multiple times for the slowness. We would not have minded if the food was superb. Mediocre is the best way to describe my surf and turf. Sent the lobster back ... over cooked... came back about the same. It seemed most everything was over seasoned. Not impressed at all.
The Sage Room touts is linage and the physical structure supports this take away. Even giving extra credit for C -19 the place shows its age. On the brighter side the food and service was excellent! All in al the phrase “One and done” applies!
Always went to Sage Room on Lower level. Enjoyed the tableside service and the food. Always recommended to my friends. Since moving to 19th floor the view is beautiful and the service was great! Unfortunately can't say the same about the food. The Chef uses too much SALT! Not edible. Good food with good flavor does not need over salting! Need a new chef or a new menu!
Was such an amazing experience. Perfect ambiance in fact he proposed to me before dinner was served!
We had a delicious dinner for our anniversary celebration and we will be back next time we are in Tahoe!
Pretty sure the server forgot to fire the order. Then under cooked. Wasn't busy so don't know why the issue..Won't return
This was amazing. We want to come back before we leave for a whole meal
Great service and great food. All I can say.
Once again the experience was great! Steaks was done perfectly as ordered.
The drink selection was fun also. I like the new location as the old as been replaced with Hell's Kitchen.
Great Views too
Worst steakhouse food ever
Excellent food and drinks. Very courteous and professional waiter. Will be back.
Meal was good but b
Awesome Beautiful View...Best Ever..Service from SY was Great... Porterhouse Steaks were Perfect...Thank You..
I took my best friend there for her Bridal shower dinner and it was amazing!!!!
It’s just not the same without the tableside service. Hopefully that will change soon.
We had a beautiful dinner, Evan the server was professional and also showed us a personality you don’t find in steakhouses. My Rack of lamb was cooked to perfection, my wife had the sea bass which was perfect to her. I love escargot and she loves oysters we had both and we weren’t disappointed. Rinsed it down with a Tomasi Amarone. Next time I go back Evan will be my requested server
Nice restaurant. Beautiful view of Lake Tahoe. Good ambiance. Would recommend.
Went there for my husband's birthday dinner and it was amazing. We had an incredible view of the lake at sunset. The food and service was top notch. Would definitely go there again.
Always great food. We try to eat there every time were in Tahoe. Now they are on the 19th floor the view is fabulous. Covid has some of the table services curtailed but still a great experiance.
The food was delicious and the bar menu spectacular. I will be going back soon!
Great experience. Service by Hal was outstanding. View was incredible.
Very good service from our waitstaff.
Make a reservation Here! Spectacular place to dine, amazing service, unmatched food, all with great atmosphere and a view of Lake Tahoe and the majestic Sierras. Would highly recommend (we both ordered the filet minion - Marbled cooked to perfection.). 5 stars!
The elk chops were EXCELLENT DELICIOUS!!! Our sever Eddie was attentive when we needed him and ‘invisible’ when we didn’t. He Made some excellent suggestions that were right on point. Always LOVE the view...see you next time. Thank You for a memorable experience.
Service was great. Food was sub par. Will not be recommending to anyone or returning
Filet great. Lobster bisque good. Crab cocktail average. Salmon/Halibut special- dry. View-spectacular!
Great view. Great drinks. Even better food. Service was superb.
Poor quality Alfredo and almost raw asparagus. Delicious chicken piccata-best I have ever had. Beautiful view and excellent pleasant service. Steak and shrimp were excellent.
The meal was wonderful, the sunset over the lake was icing on the cake
